Salvation and Discipleship: Is There A Difference?

Rate this book
SALVATION is a one-time event. It happens the moment someone believes in Jesus for everlasting life. DISCIPLESHIP is a long term process. It happens when a saved person decides to obey Jesus on a daily basis. Not recognizing this simple distinction creates confusion. Not explaining the difference allows a mixed message to spread. Not knowing the difference between salvation and discipleship keeps many people from experiencing either. This book will clear up confusion on these two important messages found all through the Bible.

This is a great book for seeing the difference when the Bible is talking about salvation versus when it is talking about discipleship. The two are not the same! The knowledge of the difference will help a Christian's life immensely. The author goes into detail showing from Scripture and context pairing words and phrases and showing the difference between them.

A couple of examples. First obvious ones:

Salvation Discipleship
Free Costly
Faith Works
Relationship with God Fellowship with God

Then some not so obvious ones.
Enter the kingdom Inherit the kingdom
Positional Forgiveness Daily forgiveness
Justified by faith Justified by works
Believe in Christ Confess Christ

The book is definitely worth, not only a read, but study.

Excellent book! Straightforward enough that I read it in three sittings, yet absolutely packed with solid theology that will help me read and teach the Bible with great clarity. I am so excited about this book and can't wait to share it with others. It energized me to share my faith, walk in closer fellowship with God, and be a more faithful disciple.

If you struggle with Salvation assurance this is a great read. It’s easy, fast, deep, yet very simple. It answers some very in-depth questions surrounding hard to navigate pieces of scripture. In a world of self help sermons, emotional manipulative teaching, and ankle deep theology, Kitchen’s book can reach the rookie and veteran believer.

A clear presentation to help readers distinguish biblical salvation versus discipleship semantics.
