I’ve watched him for years. Every role. Every episode. He was every woman’s fantasy. The famous actor. Gorgeous. Charming. Perfection. Unattainable. Until he showed up at my front door. Wanting something from me. Something I wasn’t sure I could ever give. It wasn’t safe outside my bubble. So, I let him inside instead. All the way in. And once he was there, I wanted to keep him. Even if that meant risking everything. My safety. My anonymity. Even my heart. He thought he knew how the story would play out. But I was taking our love off script.
Anna Paige is the author of the Broken series, the Thrill of the Chase series, and Off Script, a sexy standalone romance.
She lives in a rural town in North Carolina where the only activity is the rhythmic color change of the solitary stoplight and a very real threat of being carried away by mosquitoes. The only alternative to terminal boredom is writing, making life interesting if only on the page.
Anna is happily married, with one amazing son and a pair of hilarious pets. When she’s not writing, she’s trying to make a dent in her TBR pile. Given that she’s constantly adding new titles to the list, the chances of her ever finishing are slim.
*Read more of my reviews at Whoo Gives A Hoot* Eep! When I heard that Anna Paige had a brand-new release coming out I jumped at the chance to read because I absolutely FLOVED the last (and first) book I read from her. Let me just say that this story fully captured my heart and I couldn't put it down until I devoured it from start to finish!
The main characters Kaiti and Gavin were an incredible couple that I found myself falling for more and more after each page. This was a hilariously funny romantic comedy with two characters that seemed like total opposites, but in the end as they say "opposites attract." Their witty banter and undeniable chemistry is what had my heart beating out of my chest in anticipation. I couldn't get enough of this story and was sad when it ended because I wanted more, not because the story wasn't over, but because I LOVED it so much!
If you are looking for a funny and sweet read then I can't help but recommend Off Script by Anna Paige! Make sure to pick up your copy today!
I wanted to like this book, I liked the characters and I liked Kaiti and Gavin together. I believed in their chemistry and their attraction to one another.
The supporting characters and the situations Gavin and Kaiti found themselves in with relation to the supporting characters were off to me, and I found myself questioning the reality of the plot in more than one place.
Unfortunately, I thought the pacing of the book was a little lopsided. Things that should have been chapters were paragraphs and things that seemed to take whole chapters could have been covered in a sentence. Time also jumped a lot and I thought some events would have taken much longer for the resolution to evolve than they did.
I didn't dislike the title, I just didn't feel like I was able to connect with it, except for the time spent with just Gavin and Kaiti, as that worked well. I do recommend this title overall.
I remember enjoying Anna's debut novel and was impressed it was from a new author. I lost track of her other stuff but glad to see this new book from her. This is also an easy read from her that's enjoyable. So yes here I go again with my wariness of celebrity type stories clichés and all but I was intrigued enough to give it a go. Getting cast a mall is can be shady enough so Kaiti is rightfully wary. I like how she dealt with it her way though.
Kaiti was pretty much your typical plucky feisty heroine but she has this anxiety as well. She to puts on her bravado and same time hiding as well. I found what unfolds interesting her meeting a celebrity crush no denying at least, don't yoj wish it was that easy. The interaction seemed genuine to me and they have rapport. She and Gavin developed an easy camaraderie and it was a big help to her starting out on the show. Gavin is fascinated by Kaiti, she's not what he's used to in the Hollywood. Gavin is ok as a hero, he was dedicated I'll give him that and all in for the girl.
Kaiti needed a boost now and then with her anxiety and even though it's an everyday struggle she tries. Sometimes it's a win to overcome little things and you have bad days. It was not an easy adjustment to having to be on camera and being known. I felt the author dealt with in a good positive way. She's pretty likable and her insecurities make her more real. Gavin has had his fair share of issue with entertainment scene as of late, disillusioned and jaded. I'm curious how Kaiti plays into and the story as a whole.
Things moved forward relationship wise with those two allbeit fast I think but there's still much uncovered still. A few things hanging unresolved, it will be a test to their fledgling romance. Even with their short time together they maximized that and it showed. There was character growth too which is great. When on screen you have drama issues and here it's no different, done right though not overdone. Well thought out and tidy ending and the pacing was better at the second half. I liked this one a lot, more of a off screen romance to on and to real.
This was the kind of book that sounded interesting in the synopsis, but that didn't properly prepare me for how much I would enjoy the overall story or for what I was getting into. I won't give too much away here because I think everyone should just jump in and try it. But here are the things I really liked.
From the first moment the leading man Gavin and the leading lady Kaiti were introduced I was pretty darn sure I was going to love him. And then by the end of their first day together, I knew I was there. I loved him and he continued proving that initial thought justified the more I read.
Kaiti was a bent but not broken character. She had to go through something no one should ever have to. But who she was after it all was this strong, amazing, impossible not to love character.
Evie, Kaiti's best friend, was the kind of friend I love and I think adds so much value to a story and makes it so relatable. She was the kind of character that you love and want a friend like her for yourself if you don't already have one.
This was just an amazing story that I highly recommend for all contemporary romance fans, especially those who enjoy some Hollywood in their books.
Off Script sounds fun. The blurb is cute and it made me curious. I had no idea what I was in for!!!!!
I love snark. I love sarcasm. I love heroines who won't back down and have a back bone. I love loud personalities without necessarily being "loud". I love Kaiti. Kaiti is without a doubt one of my favorite female characters ever. She is strong minded, opinionated, and has no filter. She is a tough cookie with a lot of spunk. (coughs...my bad. It wasn't intended as a 13 yr old locker room snicker inducing comment but after reading Off Script- it's hard to turn off!)
Feisty, snarky, sarcastic comments make this book highly entertaining and will keep you reading. One of the best Yo Momma situations ever- happens in these pages. It's not all juvenile tomfoolery....(see I tried to make it sound more serious) No, Off Script has some very serious situations. But the grace and drive shown in these pages is uplifting while the humor had me snorting and smiling the entire time!
I would quote half a dozen lines off the top of my head but we both know I won't spoil it for you. But please, please, please highlight and send them to me because I loved reading it. I would love knowing what sent you into a fit of giggles or shooting shots out your nose. BTW, excessive drinking can lead to questionable wake ups with virtual strangers in bed humping your leg. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
For those of you who took that as encouragement, please know that hot movie stars....sorry, TV stars won't just fall in your bed. I tried. No luck. So now that you've read all this and you question what to do...
Step One- click the button that has the name of your favorite book provider. (I can them my dealers...I am addict. I even belong to the One Click Addict group on Facebook. The struggle is real.)
Step Two- snicker at the blurb
Step Three- drool over the cover
Step Four- One click, add to cart, or whatever you need to do to ensure delivery
Step Five- gather your ice cream, alcohol, or other snacks
Step Six- lean back and enjoy the adventure that is Off Script
It won't disappoint. I promise snickering, smiling, and plenty of butt pinching.
Anna Paige is brand spanking new to me but you can bet your sweet ass I'll be checking out her backlist in the future. Sexy. Sweet. Fun. Easy. Unexpected. That synopsis is what first drew me in but what I got was so much more.
Off Script is a new contemporary romance standalone novel y'all, that completely stole my heart in only the best ways and gave me all of the feels, start to finish. Gavin and Kaiti were so great with relatability, great banter, undeniable chemistry, a swoony connection, a twist or two, and one unforgettable journey.
Can they find chemistry on screen and love... off? He's an actor with the world at his feet. She's a simple yet complicated girl being pushed out of her box in every way. He's determined to have her every way he can. Will he win her over? Will he convince her to take a chance on...him? A journey you cannot miss.
Gah these two were so so brilliant together!
It might have been my first and it surely won't be my last... I'm super glad I took a chance.
I try to read at least one new-to-me author a month. Anna Paige was my choice for December. Admittedly when I read the blurb, I was kind of interested. The cover, however, was my determining factor. Those abs! *licks screen* Those abs are so lickable. I liked Gavin and Kaiti but there were other characters that were just so one dimensional. They seemed to be fillers and really didn't do much for the story. Other than those characters, I enjoyed the story more than I thought I would. The whole celebrity subgenre really does nothing for me hence my initial hesitation after reading the blurb. The bookwhore in me won out though. I will be on the look out for more from Anna Paige in the future.
I won this signed paperback book last year and now I had a bit of vacation. So I decided to read this one and I'm so glad I finished it. It took me a whole week to finish it and in my case that is really long time.
It just isn't really my type, actually I can read very different types but this one made my head spin so much. At first I was glad to read about a strong and sassy h, but then there was a scene and she melted.. Then later on she was suddenly the kick ass h from before.. Don't get me wrong it is normal to not always be strong and to have a moment of "weakness". But don't pretend to the cause that everything is right and that you suddenly can treaten him.. That made my head spin.. It kind of irritated me and so I didn't like that so much.
Don't get my review the wrong way, so if you like to read it just read it!
Off Script by Anna Paige a five-star read that is filled with passion and heart. I adore Anna Paige and she wrote one of my favourite books last year, and this one was just as good. There is a bit of everything in this read, there is some funny bits, some bits that make you go aaawww and some bits that will have you twisting your melon. But most of all its filled with a great story that will make you want to drop everything to get back to reading. Anna Paige thank you once again for writing a story I lost my heart to, Gavin was someone I adored and Kaiti was great as well she made me feel like taking her out.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author abc now I’m going to back and read the ones I’ve missed.
The story is about Kaiti and Gavin I’ve got to say Kaiti is hilarious her witty one liners had me giggling out lots more than once. Gavin is the movie star who despite his success is a super sweet guy.
Kaiti is spotted in the mall as a potential new character on a tv show but for her notoriety would be her worst nightmare. Gavin is sent to try and sweet talk her into joining, when he meets her he is fascinated. I really enjoyed the banter between the two main characters I particularly liked the way Gavin was so protective and encouraging towards Kaiti.
This is Hollywood baby so of course there is rivalry, jealousy and backstabbing co stars. I really enjoyed the story it made me laugh cry and smile lots.
This was the first book I have read by this author but definitely won't be the last!
Kaiti and Gavin were great together. Kaiti has her job that pays the bill. She isn't looking to be a famous actor. In walks Gavin F'ing Lane. Sent to try to schmooze her, he finds she is something else all together. Will she be the one to open his eyes? Will he be able to help her overcome her past?
Kaiti and Gavin have a great connection from the start. I loved the banter between them and how Kaiti doesn't take Gavin's crap. This was a great RomCom and it's my first Anna Paige read and I will for sure be reading more of her.
A story with refreshing characters, Off Script was so much fun to read. It’s witty and fun, but gets deep at times too.
Kaiti is a character many can relate to, she has a strength about her. She’s an average Joe, while Gavin is a bonafide celebrity. I had trouble connecting with him at first, but quickly fell for his charm.
Overall, Off Script was a great read. The story was woven together perfectly, balancing the different emotions beautifully. It hit issues that affect a lot of people, and did it in a respectful way. It was paced well and it’s a world that is easy and fun to get lost in.

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.
This contemporary romance is an interesting book. There's a great group of characters that shine in this book. The leads - Gavin & Kaiti are so funny together, and sweet too. Kaiti doesn't take any crap from anyone despite having some issues with people.
She's always been a fan of Gavin's and when approached about being on a show with him she's sure the people are crazy. Despite them being crazy she's never one to back down from letting fear get in the way.
As the story goes along you'll read about Kaiti and Gavin's friendship which then turns into something more. These two are just so cute together. They joke and play around. They can read one another like an open book.
I enjoyed reading this story. If you're a fan of Hollwood - big or small - I think you'll enjoy this story too!
The story was pretty refreshing as an unknown makes herself known pretty quick with her sharp wit and refreshing honesty in TV series starting with meeting the director at a mall. The banter is top notch.
Off Script was my first book from Anna Paige. I really was intrigued by the premise; it sounded fresh and fun so I thought I'd give it a go. Overall, I enjoyed it.
I liked our main characters. I thought Kaiti was funny and I thought she matched Gavin well. I like that she was initially hesitant about taking on this role-I think most people would be. I felt she was genuine and honestly relatable.
Gavin was exactly what I expected him to be. Hot, fun and sexy. Actor characters are a tough thing to portray sometimes; it can be difficult to know when they're being real or when they're simply acting. With Gavin, I knew. And I liked that.
These two worked well together. They were believable to me. They had good chemistry between them.
I didn't love the supporting characters in this book, and that bothered me. There is where things didn't seem quite as believable to me and I was sometimes left scratching my head. The pacing seemed a bit off to me as well, but that's just my opinion.
Overall, I did like this book. This is an author I will try again in the future. I recommend this title.
3.75 Stars I was caught off-guard with this on more than one occasion and not always in a good way, whilst I liked the main characters Kaiti and Gavin, some of the situations and connections with the secondary characters left me scratching my head as to what value they added to the story. I won’t say that this stinted my enjoyment but it did make me stop and think, so maybe that was a good thing. Kaiti is happy with her life, it’s taken her a while to get to a position where she can leave her past behind her and actually move on. Life as a kid was tough and the remnants of that childhood has bled through into her very soul but with her bestie by her side she is making the best of what she has. But all that takes a hit when she is approached by a TV producer who wants her to appear on his show…despite her protestations and out right refusal, he doesn’t seem to be willing to take no for an answer and decides to pull out all the stops and get the star of the show to approach Kaiti himself…and when he does…boom all bets are off! Gavin thought it would be a quick favour, flash a smile and get this nobody to come in and audition, but it was far from it, because auditioning for the show seriously slipped down his list of priorities once he had seen her. There was something instant between them and that held much more interest. When she eventually sees things his way and gets the part on the show, how long would it take for him to convince her that what they have can easily be transferred off screen too? I thought the story in general was good, I liked the connection between Gavin and Kaiti and found myself rooting for the pair of them. I thought the pace ebbed and flowed somewhat but the connection between them kept me engaged. It was just some of the peripherals that lost me a little along the way.
This was my first Anna Paige book and going in I didn’t know what to expect. It seemed to have a good storyline, even though it’s something similar to a few others I’ve read. Well that was what I thought before reading it. Once I was fully immersed in Off Script, this was such a enjoyable and swift read. It was full of emotion and really brought the story of the two “stars” to light in a way that just sparkled!
In Off Script, we follow Kati and Gavin. Kati lands the job of a lifetime, not even trying. Gavin is already a famous television actor and when Kati is cast alongside him in the drama, drama develops between them. And not the bad kind. Their connection is pretty instant. When Gavin shows up at her door to convince her to take an audition, they two just click.
Along with any story set in Hollywood there is a plethora of drama both on and off the screen. Kati has a past she is trying to keep under the radar, but as with the entertainment industry, the world just loves the backstory of their stars. Even if it is a has terrible repercussions.
All of the supporting “cast” in the show/book are a mix of the good and the bad. I am hoping a for a spin off for a few fun characters that I truly enjoyed in their supporting roles. This was such a great start and I hope it becomes a series!
*I received an ARC copy of this title at my request, and I am providing this voluntary review.*
First time reading anything by this author and will definitely will not be my last. Off Script will have you grinning from ear to ear, wanting crazy drink concoctions and playing a role in 'Savages'. Kaiti and Gavin hit it out of the park. Their chemistry and attraction were insanely hot. And Kaiti's quick banter will have many LOL moments through the whole read.
Kaiti was at the right place at the wrong time. She definitely knows how to say no when asked to read a part in Savages. Her sense of humor is infectious. But when her celebrity crush knocks on her door, she's not only awestruck but also intrigued. With having anxiety issues, she is wary to read a role with Gavin. In his presence, she's comfortable and relaxed. Their friendship is strong and tend lean on each other while on the set production. With texts, gifs and quiet moments together, they cannot ignore the pull. Their passion is wild and cannot get enough of each other. But with every tv series, drama is always on the set. Not everyone is happy with the two lovebirds. And when one of the actors leaks a video because they are threatened by Kaiti's role and their relationship, old wounds open up. Gavin is by her side every step of the way. And if that means walking away from the show, then so be it.
I truly enjoyed Off Script. The characters flowed and story well written. I enjoyed the supporting characters, especially her best friend. I can't wait for more.
*ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review*
4 Stars
Off Script was a fun, cute, brought the laughs, enjoyable read. And it brought just enough drama to the story and wasn't over-the-top. With a set of characters that were anything but boring. Off Script flowed easily at just the right pace.
Kaiti was such a hoot. She made me laugh in more than one occasion. I liked her and her "I don't give a f***" attitude. And yes she was a bit insecure, but her confidence still shined so bright. She was such a firecracker, and I loved it.
Gavin, oh, sweet beautiful Gavin. He was so much more than his superstar profession. The way he let Kaiti into his life and showed her the "real" him was so refreshing. And also, being in Kaiti's presence made it easy and comfortable. Gavin made me so giddy. *sigh* he was the freaking sweetest.
Kaiti and Gavin were so adorable. I loved their banter and the easiness of their relationship. They made me laugh nonstop and smile so much my face hurt. They had their ups and downs. And the downs made them work extra hard at the problems that were presented. Both Kaiti and Gavin learned a lot from the other. They were quite the pair those two.
For this being my first Anna Paige novel it did not disappoint.
I absolutely love Kaiti and he witty and hilarious mouth. She and Gavin had me laughing out loud. Kaiti speaks and doesn't hold anything back. She is just a normal girl dealing with her anxiety the best way she can. In comes Bryce, mega director and he wants Kaiti on his show. How she handled him was great. This is where we meet Gavin and just wow. When the pair are together, it's just a ball of laughter and off the charts chemistry. This story did have its ups and downs. Learning about Kaiti's childhood and to see how she overcome it all with the help of Evie. I just loved Evie too. She and Kaiti are a perfect fit for each other as best friends. Too see how both Gavin and Kaiti let their walls down to be themselves was great.
Gavin, being the actor is so used to just wearing different masks. He gets to be himself and its so refreshing. Gavin is immediately smitten with Kaiti and how refreshing she is.
This was a great story with really loveable characters and a story that will leave you laughing and crying.
I voluntarily received a copy for my honest review.
Anna Paige, I loved this book from the moment I started until the moment it ended!!! Bravo.
Kaiti Oliver was having a normal lunch in the mall concession stand when an annoying as hell man keeps pacing behind her and talking way too loud for her liking. Out of nowhere, he starts talking to Kaiti he needs her to come and audition for his TV show Savages. Kaiti thinks this guy is a few fries short of a happy meal and leaves. Bryce Howard needs to find this girl by any means necessary, this girl will be the perfect new addition to the cast, Bryce knows it. He sends in the big guns, Gavin Lane.
Gavin shows up to Kaiti's house unannounced to try to get Kaiti to come down to audition for the part. Little does Gavin know, Kaiti is EVERYTHING that Gavin used to be and wants to be. Can Gavin convince Kaiti to audition, does Kaiti even want to act? What will Kaiti's best friend think of this when she gets back from her cruise?
So much happens in this novel and it doesn't disappoint at all. Anna Paige has written the perfect script.
I adored this book from the very first page. I loved how blunt Kaiti is, and her say-it-like-it-is attitude was refreshing. The way she kicked Gavin -- the hottest TV star around -- out of her house was priceless! The two of them had an amazing connection, witty banter, and so many laugh out loud moments, I couldn't get enough of them.
Kaiti's anxiety, however, nearly cripples her at times. And set against the backdrop of a hit TV show, many of her triggers come into play. I liked how AP gives little hints here and there about where Kaiti's anxiety stems from. When the full truth about her past is finally revealed, I admit that I never expected that plot twist! Gavin was such an awesome boyfriend to Kaiti -- they balanced each other out so incredibly well, and I loved how he allowed his public mask to slip when he was with her.
If you are looking for a celebrity romcom, Off Script is definitely worth checking out! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
I was very stoked when I received an ARC... this would be my first Anna Paige read.
This story is about Kaiti Oliver, a normal girl who was offered a vital part of a hit television series... she was very reluctant at the tv producer who offered her the part. And so said tv producer enlisted the help of the show's male lead, Gavin Lane, her all-time celebrity crush, to convince her to at least audition for the role... and it all starts from there.
The pacing and the character development is great... the angsty and the over-reaction part, I wasnt a really big fan of. But drama is a part of life, and therefore would make a great story.
I cant help but remember those "One Tree Hill" days while I was reading this... dont get me wrong. The storyline is totally different... I guess I just felt nostalgic.
Overall I loved the book! For all of ya'll who are fans of celebrity-normal-girl stories, this is the book to read next!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it was the first I have read from the author, Anna Paige and it won’t be the last!
I loved the quick witted personality of Kaiti, which was certainly matched by the famous actor Gavin. Their fun banter was very enjoyable and the connection between these two characters was hard and fast. The laughs and one-liners did not stop there, with very cleverly written side characters playing an important role in the story.
There was a serious side to the plot too. Kaiti having to overcome experiences and fears from her past, with Gavin, her friends and colleagues there to support her and learning a thing or two about their own personality strengths and flaws along the way.
This book was entertaining, well-paced, with characters I loved! I am looking forward to reading more of Anna Paige’s work.
