Kyoko und Izumi sind zwei ganz normale Schüler und gehen in die gleiche Klasse. Sie, ein durchschnittlicher Teenager mit vielen Freunden und er, ein schüchterner und zurückhaltender Junge.
Was jedoch keiner weiss ist, dass Kyoko ihre Freizeit nicht mit Freunden und auf Partys verbringt, sondern den Haushalt in Ordnung hält und sich um ihren kleinen Bruder kümmert. Izumi hingegen legt in seiner Freizeit gerne die ordentlichen Schulklamotten und die Streberbrille ab und tauscht sie gegen Piercings und Punkklamotten. Kurz gesagt: sie sind privat das genaue Gegenteil von dem, wie sie sich in der Schule geben. Als jedoch beide hinter das Geheimnis des jeweils anderen kommen, entschließen sie sich Stillschweigen zu bewahren und sich gegenseitig zu unterstützen. Mit der Zeit werden beide Freunde, oder ist da doch mehr?

Best Part of This Volume: Hiro-san’s father. Hiro-san’s father. Hiro-san’s father!!!
Confessions . (Realistically dealed and not over the top) jealousy, awesome bro-romance between the boys, Ishikawa's calm and mature reaction to sudden events. The end of the ch.26
Also the characters (all of them) are extremely likeable, her parents, for example, are so sweet and trust their daughter, just like it's supposed to be. No stupid "My daughter belongs only to me!" etc...So damn refreshing!!

Kyouko's dad is one of my least favorite manga character types. At least the one or two instances of gross behavior toward his daughter in this volume are implied and "offscreen," and it's very obvious she hasn't the slightest respect for him. Like everyone else in his family, I ask, "So, when are you leaving?"
Kyouko and Izumi's relationship is creeeeeping forward. Each little step exposes more of their vulnerabilities, which Kyouko in particular is very reluctant to do. High school gossip is hella stressful, though, isn't it? Good thing they have friends who can tell the gossip-hungry horde to back off.
I feel for Sakura. Wanting someone doesn't mean they belong to you, of course, as her crush himself knows already. I'm interested in seeing where that goes.

This was for sure the funniest volume so far.
The introduction to the father of Hori helps alot. He's just a dumb fun character. On top of that we have some real progression with the leads and their relationship. Sure a dumb fight had to happen but everything after worked really well. That ending? What the heck!?

Violence is getting worse, this time MC h who is a high schooler on her father, who laughs it off and says she is just like his wife at that age. WTH?!? So, despite the cuteness of the love interests, 3 stars. The MC h even threw two textbooks at the MC H’s face! So maybe not so cute anymore?
Especially if you flipped the genders and it was a boy hitting his mother or a boy throwing textbooks at his girlfriend’s face. If that is a hard NO, why is it ok if a female does that to a male? Trick question, NOT ok. I bought the next two, so will read those, but if the violence continues, this reader will not.

Ay, me está gustando mucho pero al mismo tiempo encuentro comportamientos por parte de Hori que no me parecen muy sanos (????). De todas formas, estoy in love total con Miyamura y el resto de personajes secundarios.

This was really an enjoyable read. I chuckled multiple times while reading this, especially with Miyamura and Kyousuke. I really like their interactions.
I feel like I am getting tired of the romance aspect of this story and I am crossing a thin line here, ready to snap and letting me fall to the disappointed pit but I am really holding on and hoping this could get better. I really do want to love this manga and keep going.
The story was really fun as a shōjo manga. I really love the anime adaptation that's why I decided to read the manga but what had me feel this way, on the verge of being disappointed is that how these characters are fine with our main character being physically violent and all.
Hori Kyōko's attitude is bearable but what I cannot turn a blind eye on is that she has this problematic tendency to hit someone physically. It was also shown that Sengoku had a trauma because of all that Kyōko did to him during their pre-school and elementary days.
What's worse is that everyone is aware about that. I wish they could talk about that trait of hers more and do something about it than shrugging it off.
Rated this a 3.5 because of Miyamura Izumi and Kyousuke, Shindou and Tooru, and lastly because of Souta.

Horimiya Vol. 4 was another fun addition to a great manga series.
Kyouko Hori and Izumi Miyamura are an unlikely pair but their differences make for a great friendship. After Miyamura unexpectedly confesses his feelings for Hori, their relationship begins to change. Will their relationship survive the changes or is this the end?
This volume was just as good as the first three and I enjoyed it from start to finish. I really like the art style in this series and the level of detail the illustrator manages to include is amazing. Hori and Miyamura's friendship has finally developed into a romance and I'm loving the changes this volume brought about. Volume three really started the shift in the pair's relationship with this volume moving them fully into a romantic relationship. They're so sweet together and I love how much they genuinely enjoy each other's company. We see quite a bit of the side cast in this volume and we finally meet Hori's father who is hilarious. I'm enjoying the friendships that are developing amongst the cast and I'm looking forward to seeing more of them in future volumes.
Overall Horimiya Vol. 4 was an enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to picking up volume five soon.

In this volume we follow the aftermath of what Miyamura said to Hori in the previous volume.
As much as I love how Hori and Miyamura's relationship progresses at a slow and natural pace, I also just really enjoyed getting some further relationship development, though I do think they have a ways to go in terms of really understanding each other. I did end up feeling a lot for Tooru though, he's one of my favourite characters and he's such a good friend to Miyamura. The friendships Miyamura has with the other characters really are the highlight of this series for me, and I also loved seeing Miyamura have a heart-to-heart with Shindou. We also get introduced to Hori's dad in this volume, and he provides some pretty uncomfortable moments for Miyamura, but some great comedy. As for that last chapter, I feel really bad for Miyamura and sad that he went that far, I'm going to miss his hair.

Volume 4 is full of laugh out loud moments (esp. scenes involving Hori’s dad and Miyamura!) This volume finally sees Hori-san and Miyamura making their relationship “official” and ends on quite the cliffhanger!

The relationship is progressing, and there's jealousy, which is always cute, and they're both trying to know each other more. Also, the dad appears and his interactions with Miyamura are the saddest and most hilarious thing, it's like he has no place in his home? It was bizarre but funny.
I felt for Tooru of course, but that was so easily and quickly overshadowed by our very cute couple.

I freaking loveeee how Hori is this super smart, super cute, very popular girl... But also has this hilarious sadistic side. It's the funniest!! Miyamura too has interesting parallels in his personality.

Lots of character development in this volume! Really loved that Izumi cared so much about Hori that he changed a part of himself.

I SHIP HORIMIYA SO HARD, I'LL SHIP EM FORVER!! They're literally the cutest couple ever. The heart-warming romance mixed with the hilarous sense of humor is just unbelievable.
