This is a short book and it reads - in some places - as a collation of notes and thoughts. That's not a bad thing an the sequence is very good.
The title is somewhat misleading. It's neither a dedicated IoT focused book or a pure digital strategy book, but it does have value for both topics.
It may be trying to cover too much as it ranges in depth from business models all the way down to architectures and networking protocols. It's a good overview of all, but doesn't provide a lot of detail of any.
As non-English speaker, I enjoyed reading Nicolas Windpassinger’s book, “Digitize or Die”. Although the author is targeting the CEOs and senior leaders, it was easy to learn how IoT is so vital in all aspects of our life, not just in business. Digital technology becomes an endless process and integral part of our modern life.
It is an overview of Internet of things (IoT) and digitization; Nicolas’s choice of the title is very well suited. The author provides valuable case studies and illustrations to show how digital transformation becomes necessary for any business and professional ecosystem. He aims at helping companies and business to transform “themselves digitally by providing a simple methodology with pragmatic steps.. to not only survive but succeed with digital transformation."
He tries -by using simple and straightforward language- to shade light on the “rules of the game”, i.e. to digitize, or die. The book clarifies how IoT is already transforming markets and companies, and how companies failed when they ignored the “Intelligent Third Industrial Revolution infrastructure—the Internet of Things.”
Overall, this book is well organized with good sequence of steps and well written with clarity of thought that is refreshing.
For a complete technophobe, this book gives me great insights on what is the buzz all about when it comes to digitization and the internet of things. Not only does it gave me an understanding of the digital world but it also have me the practical side of implementing a digital transformation. It is a great beginning in understanding this new world we are living in and the reference to other books and topics in digitization point me to the next step in further improving my understanding of the digital world.
The author, Nicolas Windpassinger, with great experience in the subject, shows in this e-book in a logical, well structured, didactic and in detail the importance of IoT in the present day and how businesses, employees, and partners can (must) change the mindset to adapt to the "new rules of the game".
I received this book for free from the author/publisher in response for an honest review of the book. I have not had the opportunity to read this book at this time. I will add my review of this book once I have read the book. Thank k you for allowing me the optometrist review your work. I look forward to reading this book.
