Fergus is the 33rd ghost to leave Culloden Moor for a brief taste of mortality. The wee witch has told him he must do one heroic act to move on to what comes next, and he is prepared to do just that, anything to end the tediously unending life he now endures as a ghost.
He has two days at the most, but he can’t find any heroic deed which needs performing, anyone who needs rescuing. Time is running out, and he doesn’t know what to do.
Casey Cole brings her sister, Sarah, to Scotland to mend the growing rift between them. Although Casey is ill and delaying treatment, she cannot break her promise to Sarah.
Two sad souls meet on the moor of Culloden, but Fergus can’t see what is just in front of him, and Casey has no idea that she needs help.
*FERGUS is #33 in the series. If you are new to the series, first read the short set up, THE GATHERING, to avoid confusion. Don't forget to come back and review them all, and follow The Ghosts of Culloden Moor on Facebook.
I've been writing romance fiction since 2006 and have published 20 books. I write time travel romances, contemporary romances, romantic suspense, and light paranormal romances (lovelorn ghosty stuff).
A gypsy at heart, I've lived in Aruba, Venezuela, Arizona and California (thanks to my parents, and in Guam, Wyoming, Washington State, Belgium, Washington D.C., Maryland, Montana, Turkey and Alaska (thanks to my time in the U.S. Air Force. Since then, I've lived in Idaho, Nebraska and Alabama in addition to visiting many more countries and states, and I'm determined to Goodreads friend everyone from all those places plus many more!
This is book 33 in the series. You will want to read the first short story, The Gathering, for the background information on the Muir witch before you start the rest of the series. After that, each one can be read as a standalone.
Quick read, but not one of my favorites. Ferguson is sweet , but I just couldn’t connect with him. Did not like the fact that the sister was so cold and rude. One more Culloden 👻 ghostie with his HEA though.
Love this series. Just long enough for a lazy afternoon. Each ghost has his own story and it's like reading a fairy tail , which in reality, it is. The best part ..all have a happy ending!
Once in a while it's good to just lose yourself in make believe. Can't wait for the next one to arrive!
This was a rollercoaster of emotions for me. No I have not experienced cancer, yet, but I have suffered depression from several life threatening maladies over the past few years. In a strange way I found this storyline cathartic. Through my tears I found joy in knowing there is always hope.
Although these books do not need to be read in order after the first book, The Gathering, I always like to read a series from beginning to end. In this tale, Fergus is tasked with completing a noble deed, just like his comrades who have gone before. These stories are a sweet taste of Scotland that merges the pastnwith the preent.
Fergus A Highlanders from the Mists of Time Book 33
Fergus has to do a brave act within two days of being mortal. He fell in love with a girl with cancer and wanted to save her. He would give up all to save her. She would give up all to save him from being a ghost. Love conquers all. This author Bess MaBride has it so they can stay together.
This is another winner. I just love these stories of the 78. The different author s write wonderful storylines and have great characters. I highly recommend all the books in this series. Diana Romano
What an incredible highlander story in this series. I simply adore the writing of Bess McBride. This is such a tender story of performing a courageous act - like rescuing someone's broken lonely heart.
She is fighting for her life and he is willing to give up his for her. These two people from different times love each other so much for the sacrifice they are willing to make. Read on for more for what happens.
Another enjoyable book in this wonderful series! When you first start reading them it’s kind of intimidating because of the number of books. But when you do start reading them you just can’t get enough. More, more, more!
Gave thos book 3 stars because i hate when peiple muck up my language. Being born and raised in scotland i know how things are said and spelt. Naethin is not nuthin never has been never will be. Other than nitpicking it was a great read in the series
No greater thing then to give ones life for another. This book was so touching It made me feel warm and happy to read. With it being short I was able to sit and just read the whole thing all the way through it was a great use of time
