It was a good read. A little bit rushed, but a nice, quick read. I think the characters could have been a bit more well rounded, but the book was too short for that. If you need a nice, feel good story, this is it.
This is about Gemma who helps her girlfriend by watching her daughter while her girlfriend goes to the middle east to help find her husband. When the father's brother , Max, shows up and drags them back to the outback to wait for their return. Gemma is in love with the brother Max but never figure she had a chance but while they try to deal with life in the outback, they also seem to figure out themselves as well.
I loved this book and the unique situation the characters found themselves in. When Nell fell pregnant and 19, her parents separated her and Jacob, as well as stole the baby from her. Twenty years later, that child dies and leaves behind a tiny baby, which these two young grandparents adopt. I love the antics between Nell and Jacob as they reconnect and it made for a very enjoyable read.
I suspected when I started reading this book that I had already read it about 3 years ago, and I was right. But it's a good story, and worth a second read. I enjoyed it.
