Sweet Home

Took off his heavy shell to go for a swim.
He went down to the lake by the shortest route,
He was wearing a hat and a blue bathing suit.

I thought this was such a sweet and well thought out book. Not only does Sigal share positive messages, but does so in a way that makes you think. I loved, loved, LOVED the message of being comfortable with who you are. Its such an important thing that needs to be shared with all. Kids especially need the reminder of how special they are. Tim learns the lesson of enjoying life just as you are and its heart warming. This is a quick read full of very creative illustrations and even better reminders. Loved it!

Appreciating Home

Israeli children's books author, Sigal Adler, just keeps adding to her now rather impressive number of books for children. Each of her books was written in Hebrew and as they became best sellers in Israel she decided to have them translated into English to benefit an even broader range of children. As always Sigal's rhyming style is delightful. The stories are not only entertaining but they also carry some subtle messages to those children fortunate enough to read them - or have them read to them. The books are enhanced by one the top illustrators - Harry Aveira.

In a very clever concept of home, Sigal introduces Tim the Turtle whose ‘home’ is his shell. On Monday Tim takes off his shell and dresses for a swim, and upon jumping into the water the fish mistake him for bait (he doesn’t have his signature shell!). Tuesday he removes his shell, puts on warm clothes to visit his bat friend, but the weather doesn’t cooperate – a hailstorm hits the shell-free Tim and he rushes back home for his protective shell. Wednesday he tries to sunbathe without the shell and gets sunburned. Each day when Tim removes his shell he encounters problems – with the eagle, bees, the wind – and ultimately decides he is better off when wearing his shell home!

A fun book with a solid message beautifully illustrated - and Sigal Adler successfully adds to her repertoire of fine children's books.

What a great ebook to teach young ones to have patience.

I enjoyed this short ebook with its story about teaching the very young ones the importance of gaining patience. As well as the font size and the beautifully brilliant illustrations, too.
These are my reasons for wish to rate this as a five star ebook for kids and to recommend it for kids ages 2-7 and or in grades P-2. I received this ebook for free and in return, here's my honest review. Terrific job Sigal! By Sunny ( Angela )

I liked the illustrations in this book. The author told a story about a turtle being out of his shell in different circumstances, and why he had to hurry back to his shell for perfection, instead of letting us know how the shell protects turtles, which was an interesting way to tell us how the shell protects.

Cute

It was a cute story with a good rhyme scheme. My 16 month old liked it alot. Only complaint is that the words aren't a part of the page which is probably just a personal preference but just something I expect with younger kid books.

Another fun, rhyming story by an author who knows what children love. All of this author's books will not only delight children, but parents know they can depend on her to give the children fun stories with great morals.

Tim, the turtle, spends a whole week, everyday doing something different and not having his shell on. Through all the trials and tribulations Tim finally decides he's safest in his shell from all thing - nothing like home sweet home!

Sweet

It was easy to read and also quick but I think there was something in the beginning that was a slight mistake. Other than that the kids enjoyed it.

This is a cute rhyming story about a turtle who tries to not wear their shell. It shows the consequences each day and ultimately the turtle decides that wearing the shell is best.
