And we seek knowledge because we crave answers. Those answers are usually sought, if we are honest with ourselves, in search of perfection. We understand that is an unachievable goal. But we strive to achieve it because it is in the process that we explore and expand our reality.

This is my first ever introduction to Black Panther, other than his role in Civil War. This was, utterly amazing. I really enjoyed it. Fabian Nicieza has made a wonderful science fiction comic that brings the infiltration of the human mind and technology all in one. It pieces together numerous little things that make a wonderful comic issue.

The art work isn’t as smooth as I would personally like it, but Andrea DiVito and Ariel Olivetti have done wonders with it. It’s not perfect, but for a free comic book that was likely rushed out, I’m not surprised the art work wasn’t five star, top of the range art.

This is a really well done comic, starting the course of a four issue small comic series, that spans over a few months and follows T’Challa’s battle with Machinesmith through Wakanda’s internal online security system. Issue one merely sets up what is happening for the series, but it does it so beautifully, I have to read on almost immediately. This was definitely worth getting introduced to Black Panther, and it gives me great hope for the film franchise – if T’Challa is half the character he is these comics in the film, it’s going to be absolutely amazing.

This felt like a pretty generic comic book plot, at least once it got into the actual plot, after the lecturing and long introductions part of the story... Probably well worth reading if you really like comic book stories in general, but nothing there piqued my interest enough to continue the series.

3/5 Stars (%55/100)

I liked it in general. I am not particularly knowledgeable about Black Panther comics, I've only seen the films. I had 5 of 8 books of this mini-series and I got the others for free as well. Though it is not very long, I still enjoyed it. However, I cannot do anything but laugh at that cover. I was like "what's with the car" but after reading 3 issues, I kind of get the idea. Since it is short, it is quite easy to read.

Read this review and more on my blog, uncovered-books.

This first issue of Soul Of A Machine, King T’Challa goes to a technology conference to help share Wakanda’s technology with the world.

This first issue was more to set the scene for what is to come in my opinion. We find out that mind-control through the use of new technology is possible thanks to the Takumi Masters, although this was never their intention for it.

Whilst the storyline was not that interesting, the artwork more than made up for it. It felt very crisp and precise, which goes with the computer storyline as computers are precise machines.

Whilst not the most interesting, the end of this first issue does leave it in a place where things should get interesting.

I got no feel for this story

Maybe I've been out of touch with comics but when did T'Challa - King of Wakanda and superhero - find the time to become a physicist and engineer? Unless he'd been established as such in his earliest appearances, I find it unlikely.

Then there were those so-called "Masters". The professor has a huge ego, shown by his early behavior and the look on his face at the end. I don't blame the one "Master" for what happened, but why was the villain laying in wait for this opportunity and why did T'Challa jump to the conclusion that this particular villain - or any villain - would make an appearance? Why were the "good guys" able to escape by disrupting the program but it didn't automatically free everyone?

There's too much here that made no sense, disappointing work from Nicieza, whose work I've enjoyed at least as far back when he helped create X-Force.

Short BD about the Black Panther and his young scientists against a virtual enemy that uses something like a "mind web" they had created for good for his evil plans to control the world.
Each Episode is focused on some kind of plan that makes him question what is perfection and if it's achievable.
I don't get the point of the story. It seem to not move forward after a bunch of episodes, so I don't really recommend. The only good point are the drawings, and even those, I've seen better.

Since it's a free book I started to read this. I enjoyed the story between these 12 pages. Since I like this comic art style it was easy to read. Eventhough it's so small the story itself is good. And also the plot twist is also appreciatestable. I can recommend this to anyone since its a free book.

Panther vs Machinesmith for the digital soul of Wakanda

New technology always has pros and cons but once Machinesmith gets involved things get deadly. Will this be the downfall of Wakanda?

Adding this one for the entire collection #1-#8
This was very enjoyable and I was glad I could consume more Black Panther. Loved the diverse team, the science and ideas of perfection and progress and the illustrations.

Intro for a longer story

Like a short chapter of a book. Not sure where the story leads. It does however give you a good reason to continue to the next one in series. I wonder why the whole series wasn't published as a one album.

Marvel and Lexus are co creating this

I think these would work better as short animated ads. Should be posted on the Lexus website. A little simplistic, sort of good for a person who doesn't really read comics

Reading a comic book to pass the time

I did not enjoy this entry at all. The premise is pretty thin and the execution is just ok. Just dull and uninteresting. Fortunately it is short.

T'challa against the Machine

Good intro for this storyline. It gives one an insight as to what the problem is set for Wakanda and the Black Panther. With another challenge set forth by Sam Saxxon for Black Panther to stop. I cannot wait to read the rest of the follow up books.

Great comic book

The storyline is brilliant. An unusual enemy and an unexpected detour. The characters are well defined. I didn't know about that enemy

This is a very bad series. It is, however, a car commercial. I hope somebody at least got a new Lexus for creating it.

This is a good comic but i feel like it did not live up to the potential it could have as it doesn’t explain a whole lot that needs to be explained.

Insipid and insulting

This whole series is just a big online advertisement for Lexus. The product placement is not obtrusive, but the dialogue is tedious and a chore to read.
