Where do you rank on the YES! scale:

A. Given an uncomfortable situation, you walk away, muttering "I pity the fool".

B. You use the situation to make yourself stronger. Like the Hulk.

C. You turn the negative into a positive. Right.

Good. Whatever your answer was, you know where this book is going to take you. Into the world of YES!

I like to keep Jeff Gitomer's books on hand, as they help complete the obligatory business-self-help goals with which each organization is obsessed. They are easy to hold, easy to read, and easy to understand. Employees don't like being given homework assignments, but the Gitomer's Little Book series are more easily adapted. His basic concept is to remember who is #1...as in, if there were only two people left on earth and one was the customer and one was yourself, who would you choose to keep alive? Yes! It's that kind of YES! book!

So, latch on to the affirmative and don't mess with Mr. In-Between. Because you're good enough, you're smart enough, and doggone it, people like you. YES!

Book Season = Year Round (don't worry, be happy)

I've heard colleagues rave about this "little book" series, but this particular selection provided nothing new for me. Moreover, I didn't care for the approach. It was a continuous diatribe repeating the same basic admonition to have a Y--! Attitude (we're not allowed to actually use the phrase without permission), supplemented only occasionally with an example or a re-interpretation of wisdom I've read elsewhere. He even re-interpreted Stephen Covey, stating that Covey had his "Seek first to understand..." habit wrong. He also advises against taking in more than a minute or two of the news each day, since it's so negative. I agree it is negative, but also believe we need to balance our own precious ego with an appreciation for the struggles of those around us. What I liked least about this book were the continuous and overt direct sales references. He repeatedly promoted his other products and pushed the reader to register on his website.

I think this book is designed to be read a couple of pages each day, but I took in the whole thing in 2 sittings. I probably would have liked it better if I would have done a little at a time. The book was hokey at times, but it admitted to be so. It did have a lot of great quotes and tips to stay positive to attract good things in life, though.

"If you study every day instead of concentrating on material things, one day your attitude will just click. And all the things you're hoping to acquire will just show up."
.
Gitomer never fails to deliver good content, and his 'little book' collection is all very well done.
.
This is a very simple to follow plan for getting into a better attitude. As he claims himself, there are a lot of books about improving your attitude but, not many on HOW to do it. This book is supposed to bridge the gap.
.
If you already have a pretty good attitude, this book may not be the best fit for it. It's very simplistic and stays on the surface of subjects as it's a how to. You may want to seek more advanced books like some of the Napoleon Hill books.
.
"Think negative or think positive--it's a choice and a process. Negative is an instinctive process. Positive thinking is a learned self-discipline that must be studied and practiced every day."

Pop Sugar Challenge 2020: book with more than 20 letters in the title (advanced)

This was a bedside book, read a bit at a time book. There are some interesting pointers to leading a more positive life and I definitely dog-earred some pages for future reference.

annoyingly all the time happy people (because of probable subtly undiagnosed mental abnormality) disturb the shit out of me with the promotion they have for books like this one. True; when you start reading you have this burst of energy telling you "be positive be happy, there is so much to be happy about". first of all, this violates my personal freedom to misery and devastation!
Be positive and everything will be well, oh yeah. So to the happy believers who think NLP is all you need to control your mental well being and happiness. I ask a question: you are a little girl, your father rapes you, your brother rapes you, they beat you up to the fringe of death, you go to the hospital every body around you is happy and shiny with encourgemnt and advice and you and your weak mother believe them. The social worker cant do a thing, you wont (as a little girl) press charges. You know instinctively that no way you are to be believed over this beard embracing man. My religion has been reduced from higher moral existence into having a beard and a penis (sorry) that works. You know a man is better than 100 women in his social stance due to variable injustices. You read a similar book (the social worker want the responsibility of your well-being to belong to a book), you feel positive, you go home, next week you are again in the hospital this time dead and nothing happens to any body. True story for the yes attitude!!!
p.s. the girl and her family in the story above were not Saudi citizens.

There's a lot in this book that is common sense, and I *really* didn't like the whole "head to gitomer.com, sign up and search for X" thing. We've already bought your book, don't try and upsell us on everything.

Want to be positive? The secret is in this book... Yes! Attitude

I ran across this author when I made a switch to sales. I was a very successful marketer, let's admit it... cocky. I knew marketing and was comfortable. I knew how to win, I knew how to stay focused. To me, marketing making a plan and go all in. What I mean be going all in, is trusting the marketing plan and sticking to it.

Marketing was simple, think like my customer. I thought for sure the switch to sales would be easy. Sales like a marketer right!?! Well not so fast. I still remember that moment when my sales manager called me into the office and told me "GET IT DONE." Stunned I walked back to my new sales desk. Lost and looking for answers I did what I always did. I needed to learn more. I headed right to Barnes and Noble and went to the sales section.

I noticed this small red book with a weird texture. The book felt more like a bible even had a ribbon to keep your page. I opened up Jeffery Gitmor's Little Red Book of Selling. The first page I read was how he uses his bald as a sales tool. I was in.

The thing about marketing was, I was never told "No." The switch to sales was a smack in the face. I spent more time in sales apologizing for things that went wrong than actually selling. Jeffery's book had great ideas but it was more about his confidence that I drew me in.

I was back, I remembered who I was and the main points of my job. I put a post-it note on the bottom of my computer with three words. Positive, church and sales. Jeffery helped me get back to basics. Stay positive, treat people like I would if I was at church and only worry about sales.

Side note, my current post-it note says Positive, Church, Leads.

Now I'm back in marketing after jumping on board to help a client. Job is going great but I'm always looking for new ideas. In that same Barnes and Noble, I noticed a small pale yellow book. The book screams Jeffery right away. I picked up YES! attitude and knew I had to buy it.

YES! attitude is full of ideas and quotes, but the thing I will remember the most is that same confidence. If you have never read one of Jeffery's books start today. I recommend buying them as hardcover not kindle. His books are full of quotes drawings and highlighted sections. I can't imagine his books would translate as well on a kindle, an Ipad might work,. but then you can't share it with other people. I have shared his sales book a ton.

I plan on adopting his plan to read something positive every morning. If you have never read anything Jeffery does it... The author gives you a slice of his confidence, and it feels great!

This represents at least the 12th time I have read this book. I also have it on CD to listen to in my car. Why have I read it again? I had two reasons this time. First I have been experiencing some medical issues and my attitude has been in the toilet. It is hard to recover from health issues when you HAVE the right attitude; almost impossible when you don't. Second, Jeffrey Gitomer is releasing a new edition of the book on January 16 and I have it pre-ordered. I wouldn't miss it.

Why has this book been so special to and for me. Does it include world shattering ideas that you have not heard before? Maybe one or two but for the most part no. This book is so special because Gitomer lays out a Plan for the reader to follow and practice. If the reader does what Gitomer suggests as a pan to follow, every day, every day will bring you closer to a YES!Attitude. Better defined, a YES!Attitude is that feeling you get when you have just achieved something special and you raise your fist high in the air and shout, "YES!" The book helps you to achieve that feeling every day and who would not want to experience that feeling, every day?

So when I find my attitude wanting to be something better, I read the book. My biggest regret in my business life was not to take Gitomer up on his suggestion that I become an official YES!Attitude Regional Trainer and teach the YES!Attitude to groups of people who want to study attitudes and how to get a better one. I believe in his book, I also believe I would have been good at teaching it.

Who should read the book? EVERYONE! Would I give the book as a gift? ALREADY HAVE Will I read it again? Not this edition but definitely the one to be delivered on Jan 16th. I will post a review when I do.

"It's your thoughts behind the words you speak that create your attitude" - Jeffrey Gitomer
"you become what you think about all the day" - Earl Nightingale

This little gold book is really like a manual for life!
It takes the reader through a deep dive into attitude by its sections negative, positive and Yes attitude. It provides many tips and steps towards many situations we face in our lives and how we can respond to it correctly and positively. One of the most interesting thing that how to deal with problems, the writer described his journey with a yes attitude, he practiced a positive attitude for a long time, created his own language were problems called "temporary situations", obstacles were called "attitude checks" and negative people were called "Martians". The book has 6 chapters or as the writer described it 5.5 chapters;
1. Insight to your inside attitude
2. Attitude self-awareness
3. Attitude actions
4. Attitude attributes
5. Attitude achievement
5.5. Attitude fulfillment

Extreme Book Nerd Challenge 2023
Challenge Topic: A book from a Library Display.

i got this book from the "Date with a Book" Display. I thought it was ironic as we were just reading a book for work that told us NOT to the be the YES! Sayers and to always think positively. But that is what the basis for this book is. Have a positive mind and Yes will alwasy be there.

I thought this was a very good book and I did learn a few things. I combined it with the "Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck", which is the complete opposite as far as books go, and found a happy medium for myself. Try to alwasy find the positive but understand you won't be successful 100% of the time. Learn to accept the negative and walk away from it whenever you can.

This is a must have for my "Success" shelf at home. It is on my wishlist to purchase :).

YES! attitude is full of ideas and quotes, maybe sometimes too much marketing-style written, but the thing I will remember the most is the confidence. Very easy-to-read book, so read it already twice!

Such a superb kick up the attitude butt, this book is easy to understand yet full of profound statements that make you challenge your way of thinking.
Highly recommended as the book you read a few pages of every morning, and carry around with you as a weapon against negative reactions. Just brilliant, and I’ll be reading this repeatedly for the rest of my life.
