Jennifer Ann Reed is a Young Adult Paranormal/Thriller/Dystopian author. She lives in Southwest Virginia with her husband Adam and their dog, Bella. When she's not creating new worlds of vampires, werewolves, fairies, zombies, aliens, demigods, and serial killers for her readers, she gets lost endless piles of books.
She thinks chocolate and coffee should have their own food groups and consumes them more than she cares to admit.

I truly enjoyed this story! Kitra is sassy and fierce, its about supernatural creatures (which are my favorite :) ) and theres powers along with it!
My only issue would be occasional repetitiveness, pacing in the early middle when it came to kit meeting people and certain things happened to quickly. Once the friendships were established they were solid I just think a bit more leading up to that point would have been better.
But the story is great! Especially towards the end Jennifer did a wonderful job closing it and I cannot wait to get my hands on the second book when it comes out because i know it will literally only get better!
In the past, I have never been a huge werewolf book fan, and so for a long time, I have steered clear of books that have the slightest hint of werewolf storyline. Unfortunately for me, this book along with a few others I've read in the last year, have pointed out what a fool I've been. I love the wolf pack dynamic. That's the first thing that drew me in once I was assured of the difference between werewolves and shifters. (I'm 25+ & still learning okay!) A few specific likes: the wolf pack dynamic, Caden's protective personality, and Linc. I adore his character. Mild dis-likes: Layla & Caden's relationship. Why do protectors always feel the need to keep secrets? Argh. There was some part of Kit that I couldn't stand, and I can't explain it. It's not her anxiety or panic attacks or whatever they are, because while I find them annoying it's only because I recognize parts of them in myself. Overall it's a good read. hehe. I'm interested in continuing the series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Kitra is a teenager, who happens to shapeshift into a wolf. Suffering from survivor's guilt after her parents died when she a little girl, she struggles to fight her memory, which holds the secret to their killer. When she moves back to her hometown with her guardians, Uncle Kalen and Aunt Mauve, her world shifts yet again, and she discovers things about her family and her town she never would have dreamed of.
In this fast paced story, Kitra's adventure pulls you in, as you watch her handle a rather traumatic junior year in high school. Her snarky, stubborn attitude sees her through flames that forge her into the strong young woman she was created to be. While moving to Serenade Falls was a terrifying move for her, it was what she needed to leave her scared self behind, and blossom into such a strong female character.
The writing was smooth and flowed well, filling gaps and questions nicely. The ending was set up for a sequel, although not on a dramatic cliff-hanger, and would be an acceptable ending for anyone who wanted to read it as a stand-alone novel. Overall, this is an exciting story with a compelling twist of genres, a great sense of humor, and a clean budding romance that would be nice to see grow in the sequel. I would recommend it to any fan of paranormal adventures, shape shifters, fae, or simply a good book.
*I was given a complimentary copy of this book, from the author, to read in exchange for an honest review.
I was given an ARC of this book in an exchange for an honest review 💭 all thoughts and opinions are mine though 😉🙏 ✏It is what it says it is. A good introduction to a new series. The most action happens from the middle and after. That is the point that will make u continue to the second book. Easy to read. Well written. Give it a try if you are into shifters, vamps and fae.
A new author. Was given the book for my honest review. I love wolfs magic excitement. This book was awesome I could not put it down, had to find out what happened. You became part of the story, what a twist. Was exciting. Not spoiling you have to read this and look forward to reading the next part. Hope you enjoy as much as I did .
I received a free copy for an honest review. I love the camaraderie of everyone. Kitra is a good strong character and she captivated me from the very beginning. I can't wait for more of the story. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.
I really enjoyed this story. The characters were very likable. I was rooting for Kitra the entire time. I can't wait to see what the next installment brings to the table. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good and exciting story.
A really good shifter novel. Lots of mystery and suspense with a lot of testosterone flowing. Kitra is an unlikely hero and her life is anything but normal. Looking forward to the next book in this series.
While the story doesn't leave me hanging, it does make me want to continue on. I have fallen in love with the characters and the plot is fast paced and interesting.
This is definitely my kind of read. I was hooked from the very start and really loved Kitra as a character. The whole blurb got my attention. Really good story.
I enjoyed this story, and loved the characters! It wasn’t a confusing story, which was nice, and I felt like I was getting all I could from the story, while it not being too much.
Jennifer knows how to write a darn good novel. I couldn't put it down! She really knows how to get in the mind of teenage Kitra, which makes her so relatable as a character. Her characters come to life on the page. I've been super busy and haven't been able to read the next two in the series, but I've moved them to the top of my list!
