A TASTE OF DIXIE (Grace & Cowboys) Book 1
Fear and humiliation sent Lottie Stratton running from her home in Georgia to her uncle's place in Northern Montana. With no more than an overnight bag for what might be a permanent stay, she's unprepared for the upcoming winter. And the handsome cowboy whose doorstep she stumbles up on.
Harlowe Chapman's home is the back of a horse, his friends the herd of cows he tends. He grew up in these mountains, his entire goal to be as good a man as his father was. Lottie's arrival, unplanned, unexplained, highlights the emptiness of his days. He's been alone far too long.
Yet, their growing attraction suffers a serious setback when a family secret comes to light, and it could be the forgiveness she's desperately seeking is the same grace he needs for himself.
SINGING GOING HOME
Country music star, Gideon Boone, spent his youth hiding from his mother's undiagnosed mental disease. Music was his escape and, one day in his teens, his ticket out. Yet, somewhere between home, on the backroads of Georgia, and fame in Nashville, he lost himself in his public persona.
Jayde Lincoln hides her history as an abused wife, and the pain of the child she lost, beneath a tough exterior. Moving to a tiny town in the rural countryside, is her new start. Despite lingering prejudices in the community, she believes she'll find peace and happiness there.
When hometown idol, Gideon, enters her flower shop, his smooth talk and flirtaceous smiles are pleasant at first. Then mistrust and doubt created at her ex-husband's angry fists strip away her confidence. Their differences ... his fame, her need for anonymity; their contracting lifestyles and skin colors ... are surely too much to overcome. Except their hearts sing another tune, something wonderful and perfect, that feels like love.
GOD BLESS TEXAS (Cowboys of the Double R) Book 1
Jared Flint struggles to overcome his spotted past and put his years in prison behind him, slaving away beneath the Texas sun. Yet, hard work has done little to abate his ever-present anger. With every brawl, he strikes back at his abusive past, unable to turn loose of the hate that almost took a man's life.
Holly Carleton hopped a train on a dare and headed south. After her mama's passing, she's been rudderless, always searching for that one thing to fulfill her. Taking a job at a ranch at one of the towns along the tracks comes on a whim. But walking in on cowboy, Jared Flint, half-dressed - that was accidental. And something she'll never forget. He's strength and brawn in a perfectly carved package.
The days passing, their attraction growing, it becomes clear, he's held aloof from relationships for a reason. No woman deserves a man like him. Except together, they have a future rich in possibilities, and if he can just turn loose of the pain, a chance for forgiveness and love.
Best-selling author, Suzanne D. Williams, is a native Floridian, wife, mother, and photographer. She is the author of both nonfiction and fiction books.
I love cowboy stories. Maybe it has to do with growing up in the country, seeing cows graze in the pasture, and hearing the hoofbeat of wild horses gallop past my house. I'm not sure what it is, but I love cowboys, and this collection of stories are some of best.
Harlowe and Lottie, Halston and Destiny, Gideon and Jayde will walk into your heart and never leave. Their stories are not fluffy, no, they have teeth. Readers can relate to their pain in some way. And I could truly visualize the rodeo, the ranch, and the church. They were vivid in my mind, so vivid that I wanted to have lunch and dinner with Pastor Harris and Reverend Fossett.
