The Bonds Within

Rate this book
Three years after leaving the streets, Matt Williams is living the life he never thought he would. He has a roof over his head, close friends, a new family and is close to finishing his first year at University.
He’s also in a relationship. His first actual relationship since his time on the streets.
A relationship that no one knows exists.
After six months together, Matt doesn’t know if he can continue with the secrecy…and the lies. But if Matt wants to keep the man he loves then that’s what he has to do because the man he loves can’t-no won't- accept he’s gay.
As the relationship struggles under the pressure of the lies Matt has told, an incident occurs that causes it to end. Heartbroken, Matt attempts to move on and put his ex in the past.
But when his ex wants him back, does Matt have the strength to fight for the openness and honesty he needs, or will Matt accept it’s truly over and walk away for good?

What can I say about me? I have two boys who keep me on my toes and a cat who adopted us. She walked in one day and hasn’t left. We might be getting a dog too. Who knows?

I love to read about men in love. Flawed, but strong men, who need some TLC and find their happy ending. I love to write about those same type of men too, sometimes with added kink! I also love to read horrors, thrillers and crime novels.

When I’m not trying to keep my boys in line, or writing about hot sexy men, I like to work on my allotment. I also like to read, to take walks in the countryside, and visit historical places. Recently, we went to Stonehenge and Avebury. It was an amazing experience.

Basically a DNF since it was a very vague skim read. I liked the first two books, but this one was a major disappointment. The way Josh treated Matt was appalling. I could have maybe dealt with one instance, but there was way too many. In my opinion, 95% of the book was Josh being verbally and mentally abusive towards Matt. His upbringing did not excuse his behaviour. I have no clue how Matt could be in love with him. I understand he was in a vulnerable place, emotionally, but how he kept saying how he’d never go back, but eventually did. I guess that’s what happens to a victim of abuse. I hope Josh is a lot better if he appears in the next book, but nothing will ever make me like him. Megs Pritchard, I usually like your books... what happened!?

This could have been a great story, and that’s why I kept reading. I was waiting for Josh to redeem himself because man what an asshole! Matt deserved so much better. I didn’t understand why he loved Josh. He was so mean to Matt! And to Seb! And to Tom! Okay, he had major issues and shitty, bigoted parents, but still. Tom and Ben and Matt and Luke all had shitty parents but were still nice and caring.

What did i just read? This is the first and last time i read something from this author. Matt doesn’t have a backbone at all! Always coming back to Josh who is an asshole to him, who thinks that everything is everyone else fault except his. They way he treat Matt, wauw unbelievable. This is really the most horrible story i’ve ever read and i really mean that! Wasted my time.. the 1 star i gave isn’t even worth it! People, Don’t read this story!

Matt n Josh

I was looking forward to this but I skipped so much, hoping Josh would redeem himself.

He is an abusive a hole and Matt needed to leave. This is not a good relationship and maybe written a different way Josh might have redeem himself with me

It seems matt n Josh get their happy ending but for me Josh being an a hole wasn't resolved

There is also editing/typo issues

Matt and Josh

What is with the use of the unnecessary Sat and Stood. In most cases they did not need to be used and/or the words around them should not be there if you are using the words Sat and Stood.
