This book is even more thrilling and exciting than the first! The rebellion grows stronger and so does the danger they're in. It reminds me of stories I've read about the resistance in occupied The Netherlands during WWII. It also reminds me of stories about medieval Scotland.
So, you can easily say, that this is a tale unlike anything you've ever read!
I couldn't put it down! I can't wait to read part 3 and see how it will all end...
I received a copy and chose to review it.

Here's to another epic installment in this amazing fantasy series. She delivers another stunning, immersive story that appeals to the senses and will have you wishing you could visit this world. I appreciate and enjoy her zany characters but found myself loving her supporting characters even more, especially Bran. The enhanced candies also get more page time and stand out as one of the most unique things I've read in a story. It was a bit slower moving as it was more detail and information heavy; however, it is necessary for all that is sure to come in the next book. I can't wait to see how it'll all end!

Aini, Thane, Miles and the rebels were in hiding from the Campbell Kingsmen who could attack them with guns blazing if they routed them out. Thane had gone against his own kin when he joined the rebels’ cause and Nathair and his cousin Roderic, the thug, were out to get him. Thane was the heir of the prophecy but he had no idea what he was meant to do. He had a tough job ahead; he had to convince the clan leaders to follow him as the Scottish heir instead of Nathair, and to lead a full blooded rebellion against the King of England to gain Scotland’s independence once again. Thane had the spirits of the Old Kings on his side and they would kill all who stood against him as the rightful heir. However Thane was betrayed by someone he trusted, and was captured by Nathair himself at knife point. The rebellion seemed to be doomed before it even started. Can the rebels go on without the heir? Will Aini be strong enough to see what they started through as the seer, by herself even though she was devastated? This was yet another very thrilling book in this amazing historical fantasy which keeps the readers totally immersed and routing for the rebels and their cause. I know I just have to read book 3 as the suspense is killing me.

Aini and Thane's journey continues. They have some really great personal growth. They learn more about their feelings for each other, their destinies, have some adventures, search for some new alleys. More magically enhanced candies. 🍬 More ghosts. Twists and surprises. Definitely kept me on my toes!
Vera is growing on me! She's got some attitude but I like her.
Bran is such an awesome friend to Thane. They're more like brothers. He has an added POV, which I love!!
Alisha did a wonderful job raising the stakes and increasing the fun! On to book 3!

📚 Some Quotes
He faced her and set his hands on her shoulders. “Are you ready to stop doubting yourself and act as the Seer that you are?”
Smirking, she covered his hands with hers. “Say that into a mirror, love.”
He pursed his lips and nodded. “Are we ready?”

Myles’s mouth switched from grin to glare. “I had her first, you handsome Scottish devil. And I make her laugh.”

Bran held up a hand. “I disagree. If we win but along the way become monsters ourselves then it’s not a win, is it?”

Aini laughed against Thane’s chest. “The rest of our fireworks show will have to wait.”

The Edinburgh Heir picks up right where The Edinburgh Seer left off. We dive right back into the gang's lively banter, and passion for the revolution. The stakes are higher, the bonds are stronger, and it's just all around more of what you wanted from book 1. Thane and Aini have more growing to do, and they are pushed to their limits. I love when characters are stretched and pulled and have to really examine what they believe and why. The romance between our MC's is a slow burn that speeds my heart, and softens my spirit. I also love how there are more pov's in this book. Some new key players take a step into the light, and it really helps develop things from a new perspective. This story leaves us in a cloud of passion and desire to know how all will come to end. The Edinburgh Heir has been one of my funnest reads in 2018, and I'm dying for the last installment. This author is someone to look out for, I'll be riding her coattails for everything she releases, devouring all the teasers and tid-bits I can learn.

Alisha Klapheke is an easy “TBR” reader for me - as everything she produces inevitably becomes a To Be Read by me as it’s oh so very very good. Her Edinburgh Seer series is a perfect example of why, with its perfect description of an alternate history, modern Scotland where magic works. In its book 2, The Edinburgh Heir, the story picks up where it left off in the first book and then goes on a wild ride. Aini and Thane are fantastic lead characters. Fate may indeed have chosen them, but their path is not an easy one at all. For the reader, however, it’s pure reading pleasure.

Highly recommended.

The continuing saga of Aini and Thane as they fight for Aini's father and the freedom of Scotland.

The rebellion claims Aini as Macbeth's Seer of prophesy. Will Aini and her friends align themselves with the rebellion? With prophesy seemingly fullfilled, will Scotland begome free of the tyrant King at last?

Thane still hides his true identity from his friends despite his developing love for Aini. How will he walk the line between clan, family and what he believes is right? Can this budding relationship stand if Thane's secret is revealed?

Book 2 in this series did not disappoint! More Sexy Scotsmen!!!! Thank you for that!

The Edinburgh Heir picks up where The Edinburgh Seer leaves off. I was thrown into the middle of a rebellion with some unlikely allies. The stakes are high! Bonds are mending and becoming stronger. Decisions are being made left and right, all for the greater good in an attempt to free the people from tyrannical rule. The book also provides a slow burn romance that'll leave you begging for more!

High anticipation for book 3.

Book 2

I chose the rating because I was much more enamored with "The Edinburgh Seer: Book One." This was a much slower read, but I like the overall story and soldiered on because I am truly curious as to the ending of the series. If I were a YA to whom the story is obviously targeted, I believe I would likely have a much greater love affair with the tale. So if you're a girl between 12 and 16 and enjoy paranormal romance, I think this is the series for you.

The tale continues. Aini and Thane are fighting all odds to over throw the king so Thane can become rightful ruler of Scotland but also take down one of the most feared men, Thanes father. Thane must become Campbell Clan leader. They need all the help they can get to win the war. This was a good sequel, I think the characters development are shaped more in this book and I didn't see the ending coming. I think the 3rd installment will be the most nail bitting of all three books. We shall see!

A rollicking good time. Aini and Thane continue on with their plans to install Thane as the leader of Clan Campbell and the Heir of Scotland. However, Nathair gets wind of the plan, and kidnaps Thane. The characters are fleshed out more, and we learn more about Aini’s abilities as Seer. Cannot wait for the conclusion! I received an ARC copy of this book. This is my honest opinion.

Looking forward to number 3

I liked the first book, and this one too- though I felt like they group of friends lost a little bit of their base personalities in this book... They all got really brave really easily. Myles seemed to stay true to himself, but the others felt less unique. That's the only issue I had. Otherwise it was great.

The Edinburgh Heir, book 2 of Alisha Klepheke's Edinburgh Seer Trilogy, is everything I expected and so much more. Thane and Aini are Chosen as the Heir and the Seer for the rebellion. They can no longer deny their fate, and decide to give all to the cause. The storyline is fast-paced and well written, filled with danger, intrigue, subterfuge, politics and a little bit of romance. The characters are well developed and engaging. You feel as if you are right there fighting for freedom with the rebels. Overall, this is a great installment in what is becoming a fantastic series.

Here the action picks up for the Edinburgh Seer series! The characters start to develop fuller personalities and go up against some real challenges. The first book of the series fell a little flat for me, but this one makes up for it.

A really enjoyable sequel to the first installment in the series! My only issue was with difficulties that seamed forced just to extend the plot, but other than that I really enjoyed the book and will be moving on to the next installment in the series!

Meh - did not finish. I almost didn't start it after the first book, but I decided to give it a shot. It is fine, but couldn't ultimately hold my interest.

I loved getting to read more of Aini and Thanes story and the revolution they head. The Arthurian parallels are a great tie into the story. I love Aini and Thanes sweet romance and the strength of their friends and family.

Did you know kilts can be sexy? I had no idea. Thane is the perfect reluctant hero. The whole story is terribly engrossing. The world building is some of my favorite.

I love it! I can't wait to see where Alisha takes this series. She truly know how to draw you in and leave you on the edge of your seat. That is a true talent right there. I however am not a writer, nor do I claim to be one. 😂 Therefore I will make my point in this next sentence. READ THIS BOOK. (And read book 1 first if you haven't yet) I can't give more without needing extreme spoiler alerts.
