This book is for conservatives who are tired of being lied to by fake Republicans who run as “Campaign Conservatives” (in the words of Texas Senator Ted Cruz) and who want to do something to “change” these fake Republicans by taking them out of their current office in the upcoming 2018 primary elections and beyond. The only conservatives that matter are those we conservatives succeed in electing to office, and this book will teach you how to get into the fray to make that happen. It happens, simply put, when the best conservative in the all-important, traditionally-very-low-turnout primary elections, gets more votes than the other Republican primary election candidates.
The book itself is more of a college paper than an actual book double spaced and with poor print setting in places. It is not what you would expect for a critical topic about getting involved in the GOP organization. While the book itself is not what I would consider professional-grade, I did find the topic and contain interesting. Looking at the content and following it is clear this was originally a website article that the author turned into a book as a revenue stream.
The content lacked some level of research on how other states operate outside of the author's home state or states similar in design. The assumption that every state is the same is clearly a wrong starting point and shows a lack of consideration for the larger entity. In relation to local GOP organization and structure an individual needs to seek an understanding of how the entity operates when they choose to get involve and not just jump in looking to change the entity to their idea. Sometimes through observation and understanding, they can accomplish more to accomplish what the author is intending to encourage in their writing.
First "book" i have read on getting involved with local politics. So I don't really know how to judge it. For starters it's not really a book more of an essay with resources and the constitution making up half of it's size. It is not the best formatted either being double spaced.
I think it's contents are useful though although its frustrating that CA doesn't have elected committee men like AZ does. But I think the same principles can apply.
Citizens have to get more involved in Politics if we still want to live in a Republic. The way things are headed we seemed perfectly content to live in an autocracy governed by children.
Succinct and to the point. Would recommend reading via kindle app on iPhone. Takes about 30 min. The summary: google “how to join local precinct committee”... look for your precincts website (precinct info probably on voter card). Attend the meeting and ask how to join. He then outlines reasons conservatives need to take action. The text included a copy of the Declaration of Independence and The Constitution. Read it and help us use our conservative voices.
A great primer on the role, duties, and importance of the Precinct Committeeperson. A must read for anyone interested in finding a place in making politics work for the citizens.
