Ciardis has seen the goddess for what she is — a bloodthirsty deity bent on breaking them before eliminating everyone Ciardis knows and loves. She, the daemoni prince, and Sebastian, the sitting emperor of Algardis, have set a trap. A plan in motion that will unleash a wave of magic across the land in quantities not seen since the Initiate Wars. Ciardis knows this is their only hope to defeat a god, but she can only pray that she doesn’t do the goddess’s work in the process by inadvertently killing the citizens of the empire that she had vowed to protect. But the battle has begun and she’ll do what she has to protect the people she cares about – her family, her friends, her empire. When all the gods feel free to intervene, you do what you have to make sure that the one which wants to destroy you never makes the same mistake twice. In a battle between an immortal and a mortal, the humans are coming to win.
Sworn to Restoration is another exciting continuation of The Courtlight Series. There was more action and adventure in this book compared to the last one and I engulfed every single word.
Seeing Sebastian grow into his role as ruler this book gave me all the warm and fuzzies. I'm hoping for a little more romance in the next book, but I loved the moments between Ciardis and Sebastian in Sworn to Restoration. If you can't tell, I'm still #TeamSebastian. Don't get me wrong, I like Thanar and his dark and dangerousness, but I'm definitely rooting for Sebastian between the two.
The characters in these books have become "real" people in my mind, so I always enjoy spending time with them and I can't wait for the next book!
I voluntarily received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Better than book 10 but still to slow. To much inner talking. I barely made it through book 10. Ive only kept buying last 2 because I want to finish. But dragging this story out to 12 books is offensive. I hopw Thanar wins in the end because honestly that's the only character that still keeps my interest. Ciardis is long winded and there is no real love or relationship written about the only suposed love interests. Cidaris and Sebastian could be sweet and something to root for if she would give them more than 5 sec of dialogue together. This book just dragged on and I couldn't understand half the crap Terah was putting on paper. Just when I finally gave a crap this book ends. If Id have known this series would be so drawn out and wordy, I never would have invested so much money and time into these books.
Hard to believe we're at book 11 of the Courtlight series already. Doesn't seem that long ago that I picked up the first one and tore through them then had to wait.
If I'm really honest, I've struggled with some of them, but this was back to what I've enjoyed about the series. We are so near the end now and all the threads are coming together in ways I didn't truly expect. It's such a vivid world and characters that have been created and I look forward to the conclusion of this series. I will say I'm not a fan of love triangles, and if I'm honest I don't get the attraction of Thanar (but that's just me, I'm sure).
Defeating a god, battling armies, choosing how to spend her life. All in a days work.
I liked this book much more than I have the last few. The flow of the story felt pretty good (unlike the last two which kind of dragged on a bit). I've really enjoyed the character development throughout the series especially Sebastian who has really come into his own. I have loved Thanar for quite a few books and I really hope that things work out differently than how they're being prophesied. I was really hoping that we would be able to see the whole of the war in this book but unfortunately that keeps being pushed back. I'm excited to see where thie story is headed. I would recommend the series to a friend.
Worst book series ever. I should clarify. The story was intriguing had so much potential starting with the very first book. However, The dragging out of the books after book 3 have been so painful and frustrating in the floundering of the characters that i have only been reading the past 5 books just to see how it finally ends. This book was a significant improvement over books 6-10, and deserves a higher rating than a 1 star, but as the series as a whole has been too much of a let down. Ciardis and Sebastion have become wishy-washy characters that have lost depth that made them memorable in book 1 and 2 that I just want it to end. Cannot believe there is still another book.
I gave this book a 3 star because of the entire lack of editing. It was frustrating to read and have to edit as I read when that is something that should have been done before the book went into print. However, Terah Edun has never had a problem with not editing her books. The story is good but sometimes can get tedious and drawn out. We'll see what the next book brings but I am about ready for the end of this series. How much longer can it be drawn out?
Once again, Terah Edun has provided a thrilling glimpse into the world of the Algardis Empire. With harrowing twists and turns around every corner, Ciardis and her bondmates fight for their kingdom and their lives. With every step forward, they grow closer to each other and to righting of the wrongs of the past. The unexpected is a constant part of their paths. The end leaves you anxious for the next installment.
She should have married these last two book together and could have created better book, not great but better. I fear she is writing books just trying to get to the next one and has let her story develop holes. There are something she writes over and over, then put of the blue something happens and you are supposed to know what is going on. She has been bitten by the quantity over quality.
Very frustrating as was definitely sure that the "final battle" would take place in this book, but have found that there is yet another book in the series (still to be written!). Having persevered through the series despite the protracted dialogues and recaps in the last few books - am disappointed not to have got to the end . . .
Amazingly Edun maintains the tension and adds even further twists to a plot more ensnarled than your average telenovela. love it and can't wait for the conclusion
Another amazing book in this series! They carry out the plans from the previous book, and wow, that was not easy! Such a great book, and I can't wait for the final one!
Love the story but books needs to be better edited. Found miss spelling and galati all errors. If you like a simple love story you will like this book.
Love the characters and the story is great but it is a little drawn out. I thought we would have had the big battle by now but nope, still another book to go and one in the works...
