Sam is dragged kicking and screaming into the one case he is certain will be his worst nightmare, as he is recruited to prove once and for all whether Beauregard is real, or a figment of his mother-in-law's imagination. The old ghost claims to know that his own descendants are in danger, but he doesn't know who they are or how to find them, so Sam is forced to delve into history to try to track them down.
The things he learns, however, make the mystery get even deeper, and leave Kim wondering about her own sanity! It all comes down to a race against time against forces that almost seem to be supernatural...

I haven’t enjoyed a book, of late, as much as I did this one. The family connections were a breathe of fresh air. I thought I had it all figured out and then there was a twist. I found this to be a refreshing mystery and I am excited to read more by this author. Thank you David Archer.
FACT OR FICTION by David Archer. A Sam Prichard Mystery I love his books, and also Beauregard, his antics are delightful. Poor Kim, and dealing with him, sets this book off to a great start. As for Grace, a good source for entertainment, she didn't want to miss. For Sam, when he heard that .Beauregard wanted to hire him. To find out if he is real or not. If he doesn't believe in himself, then he's not real, which Sam has always thought. Sam is beginning to change his mind and one family trip to Tennessee was on the agenda. This is a delight to read more about the characters we love, and the importance with Beauregard. Love this series, and each one is better than the last, so hopefully another one is coming.
Very entertaining and interesting storyline in the Sam Pritchard series. The story has Childhood Trauma, small Southern town life and very lazy police officers. Sam s mother in law using her supernatural skills convinces Sam and the family to investigate her Family History, because someone in her family is in danger. Sam a wife Indie use her Super Hacking skills ( she invented a Computer program that can solve problems quicker than the CIA). The adventure takes them to TENNESSEE, and finally southern Illinois. The author really understands how people in Small Towns react to someone who has Autism. Storyline was well written and had very satisfying and believable ending
I don`t think I have yet come across a David Archer book that I didn't like. Sam is such a solid character that it's impossible not to be drawn into the story. Beauregard is more of an integral part of this story and ends up investigating his family tree, which turns out not to be far from home.
This is an exciting tense, page turning enjoyable novel. I loved it. For me personally I liked the way the the story has a proper ending as it completes your understanding of the whole journey. Great read indeed.
Exciting, fast paced and full of action. Sam Pritchard saves the day, again! This is a very enjoyable series of private eye adventures. This book, dives right in the paranormal with the ghost of Beauregard, a Civil War hero, leading Sam Pritchard on a hunt for a serial killer. If you enjoy a good mystery that has a actual former homicide Detective solving murders ( instead of a coffee shop barista ) this might fill the ticket. There is the sense of the absurd, considering the ghost, but then, the absurd dances well with law enforcement.
I have had the privilege of reading all of David's book so I can tell you that he is one of the best authors that I have ever read. I put them in the same category with Vince Flynn, and many other authors of the same caliper. I look forward to reading many many of his books in the future and if he is able to maintain his quality, he will create one heck of a name for himself!
Really enjoyed this Sam and Indie mystery mainly set in Illinois. Concerns Kim especially plus Beauregard. But there is a bad presumptive error in story: Catholics are free to believe in ESP including clairvoyance. Why does the author demonize us by saying Kim was not allowed to know about ESP as it was "evil." Saints have had ESP! Judge for yourself. Other than that, a truly enjoyable narrative.
"Fact or Fiction" is one of the strangest cases Sam has ever had to deal with: Is Beauregard real? Fasten your seat belts and get ready for a wild ride; this is one story you do not want to miss!
A MUST READ ! ! ! One of the best Sam Prichard Mysteries.
I received a review copy, at no cost, in exchange for an honest review and have no personal affiliation with the author.
I stumbled onto these books looking for something else to read. Now I can't wait for a new book too come out.....
I have never lost interest in eather book the only problem I have is waiting to the end. Than the wait for the next book. I've never found any part of the book l didn't like . So hurry up I can't wait.
This is the 13th one in this series, and I was hooked from the beginning book. This one had a little twist I wasn't expecting, but it explained many things in the other books. I r rally enjoy this series-- Sam, Indie, and Kenzie and her2 Grandmas are. Delight and make you feel part of the family.
During this tale Sam is supposed to help list relatives of the Ghost. Lots of confusion filled as usual as he has his mother-in-law determine if the Ghost is real or not. While this should keep him busy enough Sam never had it easy or clear with this being no different.
Usual characters, now it's Kim who is in for a shock this time & Beauregard does a disappearing act. Sam has an unexpected client, an unknown female suspect, who might just be a serial killer. Sam needs to solve all this to get a wrongly convicted autistic guy cleared of his mother's murder & released.
Beauregard has a message for Sam and the family starts out to find his descendents and save one that is in danger. In reality they are looking for Kim's estranged family and along the way solve some murders. They find Kim has an aunt, uncle, cousins and 2 half sisters and she is reunited with her father.
Sam and Indie make such a great pair as private eyes. And this story deals with Beauregard. And who he really is. Can't wait for the next installment of this story.
Sam threw some very unexpected twists and turns into the story as he led us down a winding path filled with intrigue, danger, murder and several close calls. The revelation of the killer was an unexpected surprise.
Fact - this is a page turner that will keep you guessing until the end. Fiction - definitely, but with characters the reader will like and possibly relate to. And we finally get to "know" Beauregard!
This is book thirteen this series and I will say the same as I said for all the others this is a ten star series. I can only say the thrills and mystery of this series is a must read series. It is great
Great continuing series where the PI finds missing relatives of his wife and mother-in-law who are in trouble including one wrongfully in prison for murdering his mother. The actual criminal turned out to be a different family member
Good characters that have a mysterious history are sent on quite the adventure to learn about Kim’s ghost character. Enjoyed learning more about genealogy and how it can impact your life. Good pacing
This was just better than the first although there is still a !of of repetition here too. I liked it better after I categorized it as a cozy mystery. I think I will leave this PI.
Fact or Fiction (Sam Prichard Book #13; Sam and Indie Book #2) by David Archer... A great mystery- I have really enjoyed bingeing this series... Is this latest case about to become Sam's worst nightmare? Well worth the read to find out.
Awesome as always can't wait till the next installment to see where this goes from here. Definitely one of my favorites you won't be able to put it down!
