When I pull into the diner of this small mountain town, there’s only one thing I want. To put down roots and find someone to build a life with. And the woman who pours me a cup of joe is sweet as sugar and warm as apple pie. She serves me up a “Josie Special” and I know she’s made to order—the only woman for me.
My past is dark, too dark for a ray of light like her. But she cracks open the clouds and lets the sunshine in … she sees me as the man I can become.
Her father wants me gone. He thinks he knows all about me. But he’s wrong, and I’ll do whatever I can to clear my name.
For Josie. For our love. For the life we will build together.
Dear Reader, You’re going to melt when you meet Beau Montgomery—he’s BUILT, if you know what I mean. He’s all man, all alpha—and all yours. This mountain is full of babies, and he’s gonna make one fine baby-daddy—guaranteed!
Frankie Love writes filthy-sweet stories about bad boys and mountain men. As a thirty-something mom to six who is ridiculously in love with her own bearded hottie, she believes in love-at-first-sight and happily-ever-afters. She also believes in the power of a quickie.
❤️ Get ready to fall in love ... you deserve it! ❤️
BUILT: The Mountain Man’s Babies is book six in The Mountain Man’s Babies series by Frankie Love.
How could I not love Beau Montgomery. His only real crime was hanging out with the wrong guys and being in the wrong place at the wrong time. As a result, he spent five years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. He was framed. Now that he’s out, the man who framed him wants to make sure he can never talk. All Beau wants is peace. To start his life over and find happiness. He heads into the mountains of Idaho and happens upon a diner. In walks a waitress that makes his heart flip right over in his chest.
“She is fresh air and sun rises and the last five years of my life have been nothing but concrete and restrictions. She is the breath of life I need, the oxygen my body craves.”
Josie Smith first moved to the mountains to take care of her ailing grandfather. After his passing, she realized she didn’t want to leave. She loved this community of people that had become like a family to her. She hoped to find the happiness that her friends had found and when she saw the stranger sitting in the diner, she thought that dream might just be about to come true.
“What are you smiling about?” “I’m smiling because I’m sitting here looking at you.”
Beau finds exactly what he was looking for in that mountain town. He found men who are honorable and aren’t afraid of a hard day’s work. He found a woman he could love forever. But will Josie trust him when he tells her about his past, that he is innocent? And there is still someone out there who wants to kill him.
“She is the sunrise, the dawn I need. A fresh start, a clean slate. She is a new beginning.”
I loved this one. Beau just wanted to be happy. To live a good life. Will he get that chance? And of course, you know there are babies everywhere on this mountain! What is it about these mountain men???
“Girl, with you in my arms, it’s like I’ve been starving my whole life.”
***WARNING*** this story WILL cause mountain man and baby fever. ***WARNING***
This is the sixth story in the standalone Mountain Man’s Babies series and it is full on swoon worthy! There is insta-love not only with the characters but between the reader and the story. I was so smitten and captured reading this story that the world just fell away.
This is the delightful story of Beau and Josie. Their journey is one of passion, strength, and hotness! The story starts out with Beau driving to get away from his old life, trying to find his place; one where he will feel love, passion, contentment and safety. He finds that at a diner called Rosie’s, in a woman named Josie. Josie has lived on the mountain for a little over a year and it is getting harder and harder for her to see all the love and babies without any of her own. When she meets Beau their story love begins, and with all love stories, there is a bit of journey for them to embark on.
This story is filled with love, sweetness, kindness, purity and a freshness that makes it a story to read over and over again. I thought I loved Buck, but boy does Beau give him a run for his money on my heart. I have never wanted to find my own mountain man and have his babies as much as when I finished this story. It is a day later and I am STILL swooning.
Beau and Josie, both individually and as a couple, earned top marks for me in this story. The steamy scenes were fun to read. The plot, action and the couples quarrel was what really made this story true. I loved this one and will put it into my favorites file to read over and over again. I highly recommend this story and if you have never read a Mountain Man’s Babies story start with this one, you will be hooked and fall in love like the rest of us readers. I received an ARC and am leaving an honest review, and I also bought this story to add to my collection. One can never have too many Frankie Love stories. ENJOY!!
This is the fifth book in the Mountain Man's Babies series from Frankie Love. If you've read the other books in the series then you're familiar with Josie and if you haven't read them you should. Josie Smith left Boise a little over a year ago and moved to the mountains to take care of her Grandpa who was dying. She works as a waitress at Rosie's, the local diner in town. Her father, Judge Michael Smith doesn't understand why after her Grandpa died a few months ago she's still living there. Josie has a degree in Finance but isn't interested in working in that field. She wants what her friends on the mountain all have ; a loving husband and adorable kids. Beau Montgomery has just been released from prison after serving five years for a crime he didn't commit. As soon as he was released he picks up his truck from a friend who was holding it and leaves Boise. He has no intention of running into Tommy, his ex-friend who framed him and sent him to prison. He's hungry and ends up at Rosie's Diner where he meets Josie and orders the Josie special. He decides this might be a good place to settle down and he gets a job working construction for Jaxon and Buck. Of course you can see exactly where this is going long before she brings him home to meet her dad. Also the playlist for this book was the worst bunch of songs I've ever heard.
This story is short, fast paced and sweet. The story is easy to follow and a nice story to read in one sitting. I really liked Beau. Despite serving five years for a crime he didn’t commit, he wasn’t bitter. He didn’t let the fact that he was wronged turn him into a person determined for revenge. I really wanted him to get the happily ever after he truly deserved. I liked the instant chemistry between him and Josie. I liked them as a couple. They were sweet together. I liked Josie at first. I liked her personality and that she gave Beau a chance but that soon changed. I wanted to shout at Josie. When she suddenly decided to doubt Beau’s innocence. When he told her his story, she believed him. Yet when she went to visit her dad, she changed her mind. When she went through the heartbreak of not being with Beau, I didn’t feel sorry for her. She was the one that caused the heartbreak, it was her own fault and she deserved it. When the truth was revealed, I wanted to shout at Josie and tell her she didn’t deserve Beau or his love. I was happy that the truth was revealed. I liked that Beau was able to prove his innocence. I really liked the epilogue to this book. I found it super sweet and was left happy at the ending. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and a nice read.
I understand that short stories may be tricky and hard to pull off, especially in the romance department.
However, giving me 2 characters I just met like 2 minutes ago, and know nothing about, and making them jump to bed after 5 minutes is just like you slapping me, the reader, in a face and you shooting yourself in a foot at the same time.
Romance is supposed to make the reader feel the emotions between the couple.
Here?
I just felt nothing but a slight annoyance.
And despite the fact that the characters may not have been the worst, forcing the so called romance ain't gonna make me root for them.
Just stop with this shit.
I thought the insta crap was annoying, but this is just lazy writing.
Books with surprise pregnancies are my guilty pleasure. I don't know why and I can't explain it, they just are. So I wanted to like this book, but I could only get 23% into the book before I had to stop reading. The writing was cheesy. I hate quitting but I just couldn't continue.
A few samples: "This kiss could take out a freaking power grid, it's that powerful." "I want him to turn up the voltage and I don't care what kind of watts he is using--I just want to be plugged into him."
And right before they're about to get it on for the first time (just after they met)... "I blink, looking into his soulful baby blues. 'I'm no saint,' I tell him. 'I've done this before.' 'So have I. But girl, never with you.'"
Ummm... I think she knows he's never done it with her. She's probably the MOST aware of anyone that he's never done it with her.
Those sentences aren't the only reason I stopped reading. It's that the writing is like that through the first 23% I read and after those sentences, I just had to stop.
I did hear this book is "safe" for those who don't want any cheating or other men/other women in the book, so if the writing doesn't bother you, you might want to give it a chance.
Frankie Love is one of my favorite authors. I live to read a new book she has written.
This book makes you want to find out where that mountain is and go get a job at Rosie's Diner.
Beau hired by the guys at the mountain community and his first job was repairing Josie's house. As the repairs were accomplished so were Josie and Beau's relationship grew.
Josie and Beau had some dynamite chemistry from the minute they laid eyes on each other but a few weeks later when she decided it was time he met her daddy, well let's just say that chemistry was not the good kind and it left Josie's heart in shreds.
The road was rocky but Beau was determined to prove he was the man Josie needed and that he was innocent of the charges which had put him in the position he was in. He knew by trying to prove the wrong person was punished he would be putting his life in danger but had no idea it would put Josie's life in danger.
This is another of Frankie Love's Mountain Man finds his perfect woman and the HEA is different and surprising but I absolutely loved it.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary ARC of this book and highly recommend it so go grab a copy for yourself.
Built by Frankie Love The queen of the instant love romances plus men who have beards. We all remember Josie from the dinner and her famous Josie special. Beau Montgomery was in jail for something he didn't do, he did his time and now all he wants out of life is to put down roots. When he meets Josie its love at first sight and when he falls he falls hard. However, we all know how hard it is to meet the in-laws and beau is nervous to top it off he is a judge and not father slash judge will want his daughter with a criminal. When things don't turn out how they hope it leaves them both not sure of themselves but we all know we get our HEA. It did have me a little scared of what the relationship would happen but its okay because we see them repair their relationship.
3.5 STARS ARC Review This is a stand alone but part of a larger group of stories. Both characters are looking for forever. A quick read with instant love. Beau has a past and he is looking for a place to start over and settle. When he sees Josie he knows she is the one. Josie sees all her friends find love and have babies and she wants that for herself. Can Beau give her forever? When Beau's past catches up with them they must face the challenge fight for their HEA.
I'm not a big fan of over the top instant love, but in this series they work for me. I loved how at once glance Beau knew Josie was for him, how the flirted and he went about putting roots down right then. I hated how Josie doubted Beau, but I probably would have too in her situation. I was so glad that Beau didn't give up and found a way to win her over once and for all!
I am a complete sucker for Frankie's mountain men. And Beau has stolen my heart!
He's wanting the Josie special and a second chance at life. And all Josie has wanted is a simple life in the mountains with a hubby and babies. Instalove, instalust, instafamily in this story. There's just something in the water there I think.
I have super loved each of these stories. I read it in one sitting. It's dual pov with a hea, duh.
This was another great read by Frankie Love! I love her mountain men series, and it was Great getting to be back with all of these characters! This read was quick and well written and oh so good. I loved it and I can't wait to get more of these stories!
Beau is just recently release from prison from a crime he didn't do wanting nothing but a fresh start. Beau meets Josie when he stops at her diner for something to eat but she makes him want to stay. Josie is somewhat sad because everyone around her is settled and starting families of their own and that's all she wants. Beau starts working with a local construction company and starts his plans for a new life. The attraction to Josie is strong and he thinks about her constantly. When Josie and Beau finally give into their attraction everything seems to fall into place. That is until Josie takes Beau to meet her father and Beau's past comes to light before he can explain it to Josie. When things don't go as planned at her father's Beau ;eaves and Josie stays Later she finds out that she's pregnant with Beau's baby. Beau goes back to their mountain and plas ways to get Josie back and to find a way to prove his innocence.
I love this series and each book has its own unique story. I couldn't put this down once I started reading. The heat between Josie and Beau steams up the pages. I definitely recommend reading this book and any others from this series. The writer knows how to draw you into this community on that mountain to where you wait for the next installment just to find out what's happening next. Another 5 star hit.
I received a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.
Beau is looking for a new start after being released from prison for a crime he didn’t commit. Arriving on the mountain he stops by the local diner, after one look at Josie he realizes he has finally found the place he wants to call home. After overhearing a conversation with Josie and her friends he heard there may be a job opportunity within their construction company, hoping they’ll take a chance on him he asks for an introduction. And these mountain men are all about second chances.
Josie is a waitress in a small town diner, she moved to town after her grandfather became sick and decided that’s where she was going to build her life. All her friends are married and madly in love, and she cannot help but want the same for herself. That’s just what she gets the day that Beau sits down in the diner and orders the Josie special. He’s all she ever wanted and falls for Beau hard and fast. Everything is perfect until he meets her father and realizes he’s the judge who sentenced him to prison. Beau walks away from her, leaving her heartbroken and unbeknownst pregnant.
Theirs is a fantastic journey of second chances and instalove, but can the love they share survive her father and what happens when Beau’s past catches up with him? Highly recommend this book and the entire series.
Loved this so much that I’m going back to read the other books in the series!! After loving other books by author Frankie Love, I was ecstatic to be allowed the opportunity to read an ARC copy of “BUILT”, one of her Mountain Man series! It is from inhaling that free ARC that I am able to offer this honest, voluntary review. Yet what is most important, “BUILT” (The Mountain Man’s Babies) by Frankie Love was even more wonderful than I expected! (And I expected a great deal having lived near Boise for many years and vacationed in the mountains nearby.) The accuracy about the sense of welcoming community is spot on with this reader’s experience, and the plot is so realistic that I had to take a moment at the story’s end to find out if it was based on fact. The characterization was strong. Beau and Josie were wonderful; so easy to fall in love with them, root for them when the going got tough and think of them as real people you would welcome as your lifelong friends. It is that simple! “BUILT” by Frankie Love is going on my top shelf when I purchase my personal copy, and I suggest strongly that you do so too! Happy pages! 😉
I loved this read by Frankie Love and the hot man, Beau, who will melt your insides and make you sigh and swoon as to the man he is. He meets Josie right after spending 5 years for a crime he didn’t commit. He wants a fresh start, a new life and a good woman beside him. Josie fits that bill until she torn between her father and him, she doesn’t know who to believe but her dad has been there for her all her life. Beau is not a billionaire, he’s not a man wh***, doesn’t have women or exes crawling all over him, he’s good with hands in more ways than one and he is a man worthy of a second chance and a beautiful devoted woman by his side. From the first pages I fell in love with him...he was real. Josie was kind, compassionate and wanted to live her life how she wanted with a devoted man by her side. I did get quite mad when she made her choice but Beau proved to her the type of man he is and that he was more than worthy of her. A sigh swoon read with steamy scenes and a HEA that made both their dreams come true. *I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book*
This author was lovin’ on mountain men before they were all the rage on Amazon. :) She knows how to make a man rough and tough, with a secret side sweet and swoon-worthy. Her mountain men are built, gorgeous and protective of their friends and families, but not afraid to change a diaper if duty calls.
This was such a sweet insta-love romance! Beau was just to die for and Josie is such a sweetheart! The instant connection through flirty banter between them was hilarious and luckily neither of them are afraid to speak their mind. They're both looking for a fresh start and they quickly start to wonder if they’ve been brought together to build a future together.
The chemistry between them is explosive which makes the steamy scenes just fabulous. The comradery between the large group of friends is heartwarming and comfortable. The plethora of adorable babies and hunky baby daddies will have you pulling out the box of onesies from your attic thinking, maybe one more baby? ;)
Sexy insta-love romance with great characters and a quick moving, but heartwarming storyline.
Josie is working in Rosie's Diner when Beau comes in. Beau's just been released from prison & is looking to settle in a mountain village and while he's having breakfast, he asks Josie for an introduction to a table of men looking to add to their construction crew. Beau's trial is fixing Josie's deck, which he does well. He makes friends with the crew and falls in love but things are never that simple. His past conviction comes to haunt him and drives a rift between him, Josie and her family. Good thing this alpha male knows how to sort stuff out to get his woman, 'cause she really needs him in so many ways. Loved the HEA in this well written, compact tale. If you're a fan of instalove, strong men looking to protect their women, and Norman Rockwell communities, this one's for you!
I received an arc of this book and have voluntarily reviewed it.
I read this book as part of an arc program. This was a good story with an instant love connection between Josie and Beau. Beau has just been released from prison for a crime he didn't commit and he has decided to leave town because the man who set him up is looking for him to make sure he keeps quiet. When Beau stops at a diner, he sees Josie, a waitress and he thinks he found his dream woman. Josie and Beau flirt and when he overhears Josie talking to her friends about needing work done on her house, Beau asks to meet them in hopes of finding a carpentry job, as well as a way to see more of Josie. Beau and Josie begin a relationship until the past comes back and threatens to tear them apart. I really enjoyed this story about a strong alpha male who knew what he wanted and decided he didn't want to wait to make it his. Good one.
Wow. Frankie Love has delivered a hot and amazing story. I like the storyline and plot. The main characters Josie and Beau are very well described and develops nicely through the story. They have both issues from the past and present to get through but with love and friends everything is possible. This story is written in dual POV, which I like because it gives the thoughts and feelings of both the main characters to the reader. There are twists and turns that are unsuspected and emotional ups and downs. Hot chemistry and steaming scenes. The story has suspence, lust, love and a HEA. Sometimes a bit cheesy but it is so well balanced and well written that it is no issue. It is an amazing read. Worth the time and read.
I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
I need a map or GPS coordinates to find this idyllic little mountain town! Beau manages to find it as he sets out to make a fresh start in his life, and as soon as he sees Josie at the diner he knows he's found his new home. I loved how the other men in town were quick to help him get set up while also keeping a very close eye on him, just in case. Their love story hit all the right notes, with plenty of steam and a lot more emotional investment. It's the best kind of insta-love, one that develops even more depth as they carve out their spots in each other's lives and hearts. The twist with her dad was perfectly set up, perfectly timed, and perfectly resolved. This is a beautiful love story, start to finish. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
So I'm semi new with reading Frankie Love books but I love them! She writes fast paced, insta love stories that make you melt for these tough men who love their woman and any babies they may have (the ones I have read at least). Beau has just spent the last 5 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit. Now he Now trying to get away from the man who did who wants to keep him from talking about it. He winds up in a small mountain town and likes it instantly but when he meets Joise he knows he going to love it. But how will she react when he has to tell her about his past? This is a fast pace, short read romance with hot moments and some twist. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance ReaderCopy of this book.
Frankie Love's Mountain Man books really got me hooked, and I thought I'd seen them all, but Josie and Beau's story proved me wrong! Josie is the Mountain Girl in this book, living in a remote mountain but among other mountain families who have recently found love and family. She longs for the happiness they have. Beau is escaping a painful past, and he longs for some sanity, acceptance, and love in his life. Their meeting is explosive and it's insta-lust for both Beau and Josie, but when Beau's past comes to light, he runs. This book was sweet, emotional, and also steamy hot. It had me on edge, rooting for Beau throughout their story. Just loved it!! And I hope we haven't seen the last of these Mountain families!
Josie has been trying to restart her life since her grandfather died. She’s repairing the house she inherited while working at the diner in town. She’s happy where she is and doesn’t plan on ever leaving. Beau is starting over as well. The last five years were taken from him because of misplaced trust. He feels an emptiness so deep in himself and he knows he can’t live with it. The chance meeting at the diner was everything Beau needed to get his life moving in the right direction. Josie feels the start of something good but has no idea how wrong everything could go. I loved this book. It is so nice to get list in a book where couples are so happy.
Of all the books in this series, I liked this the most. It’s simple, really. Just had the right amount of drama. No heroines or heroes were part of a cult in this one. And unlike the first few books where the heroes and heroines preferred to have sex instead of doing what they were supposed to do (which was talk) and it happened a lot in the first book, that it was so frustrating. Beau and Josie proved to be far more mature characters compared to their predecessors. And oh, I’m glad the pregnancies were finally toned down. Having two sets of triplets in the previous book was a bit over the top, I was afraid the next book would push for seven kids. Thank goodness Beau and Josie only had one kid for their first pregnancy.
Aww! I love this series from Frankie Love. I don't think anyone can put together mountain men, insta love and babies the way that she can. And of course this book follows right along that path. The sugary sweetness of quick but the and deep love as well as the thrilling ride of secrets, lies, and fear. What a great read and another great addition to this series of books. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. Hero, Beau = 5/5 Heroine, Josie = 5/5 Chemistry = 5/5 Sex = 5/5 Plot = 3/5 Mystery = 3/5 Action = 1/5 Darkness = 2/5 Humor = 2/5 POV = dual Would I recommend this book = yes Would I re-read this book = yes Would I read future books by this author = yes
