Rate this book
What if it wasn't the right time to fall in love but you met someone you couldn't resist? WroOth and his brothers come to save a village beset by giant spiders. They're finishing off the horde for free—but just so they can mess with their enemies. It really is quite simple, but WroOth finds his attention sidetracked by an unusual baker named Mara who is trying to escape a threat far greater than the hook-fanged spiders. Against his better judgment, WroOth becomes involved and finds himself struggling as Mara calls into question all his future plans regarding love, locking, and marriage. A fast-paced fantasy romance adventure set within the larger world of the Tue-Rah Chronicles.

Ah the story of WroOth-a main character of the Tue-Rah chronicles.
WroOth is a Vawtrian-Abilities to shapeshift. Disabilities-Can only love to whom he is locked.
Vawtrians can lock only once. Enabled by a kiss concluded as a marriage there can be only one.

Enter Mara. Mara runs a bakery & lives in a land being over-run by hook-fang spiders. She is heavily pregnant & fearing for both her life & the life of her child tries to lock with WroOth immediately when he enters her premises to ask her to bake newly culled hook-fang spiders into a pie.

In English terms I liken it to a member of the aristocracy falling in love with their housekeeper. Clearly frowned upon but what a fantastic love story.

I read this prequel after the main books, it is a great insight into Mara, WroOth’s intense love for her is re-iterated in this short story.

Mara is captured, rescued by WroOth & his brothers, her clear unsuitability of which she knows, she believes she is not good enough for WroOth. It doesn’t matter. Mara becomes even more real & likeable in this story.

My little heart melts.

Intriguing

One has to give it to wrooth. Though he is the youngest, I was proud of him for choosing his own path. Mara is priceless . hate them or love them this is a relatable family. Well written, easy to follow. Sets your imagination on fire.

A little confusing at first with all the different names of different races but the story quickly picks up and it becomes easier to understand. WroOth is a n easy character to fall in love with and his love for Mara is real. Hope to get more of their story soon.

A cute ,clever, funny, and quick little romance with just enough drama to keep it interesting. It is the only the second of the Tue rah books I have read and it makes me want to read more
