If you have as little patience with rehash as I have, this book contains a massive amount...
Additionally, it did not fit very well within these new circumstances. If however, you are not that familiar with the original Pride and Prejudice, this might not be a deterrent.

Contains a light variation of BDSM explicit sex.

Entering at the arrival at the Hunsford parsonage.
Elizabeth take a fall on one of her morning ramblings and are helped by a Mrs Trenwith. She introduces Elizabeth to art and books of carnal pleasure. Intrigued, Elizabeth accepts to be tutored by a mentor that Mrs Trenwith has selected.
Follows the timeline of canon, with passionate exchanges scattered throughout. Even the assembly and Netherfield ball was rehashed by reflection which I found unnecessary.

I did not find the story to be plausible but it could have been with some alterations.
***Spoiler alert***
I am not particularly fond of ODC anticipating their wedding vows. Elizabeth does not even know her mentor is Darcy at this point...
***Spoiler ended***

My main issue though, was the excessive amount of rehash which compelled me to speed read more than half the book.

All in all a good read but not fabulous.

Georgette Brown has captured the essence of a Jane Austen story but has added some quite steamy passages. The original storyline has been accurately followed, as well as the appropriate dialogue for the era. It also reinforces the restrictions placed on women during this period. An interesting take on an old classic. I received an arc and have voluntarily reviewed it.

I thought I bought a variation but the second half of the book turned out to be copy paste from the original Pride & Prejudice. Well not only in the second part of the book.. Almost every second chapter is copy paste from it‘s original. Disappointing. I really looked forward reading because the story what it‘s about sounded to be fun. Will send the book back.
But 2 stars for the steamy scenes. Liked them, and Mrs. Trenwith too.

An interesting concept to use the background and characters from Jane Austen’s story and add some steamy scenes. A well written tale of Elizabeth and Darcy’s journey. I enjoyed the book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

The language was a little hard for me. I had to keep looking up the meanings of some of the words. There was a lot to the plot of this story. The author had to have spent a lot of time tying up all the loose ends. I did love it, Georgina, a minor character, had both a beautiful voice and played the pianoforte very well. Her brother made sure she had plenty of time to practice and in peace. The characters as you can see are lush and full of life. The dialogue follows the action and helps to fill in the characters. Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy is rich, a land owner and handsome. He falls in love with Miss Elizabeth Bennet AKA Lizzy. Lizzy is from a large family, she and Mr. Darcy start off with some very bad misconceptions, on both of their parts.

I am a real true Jane Austen fan and it was with sceptic I began to read this book. I came to the solution that worked for me. I thought of it as no Jane Austen because that was just not right for me to compare. When I read it as a new story with characters simular to P&P then it is a better fit. Well written and the scenes are hot and chemitry nice. True to the time period and the characters are likeable. I think it is better to leave the classics where they belong and write all new versions in stead.
This book is enjoyable and readable.

I really did not know what to expect with the title of this book. But I was pleasantly surprised and did enjoy. This is a twist on the Pride and Prejudice by author Jane Austen who we all know and love. Of course the author weaves in a more sensual take on the story and manages to pull it off. I think you will enjoy this story and it will leave you thoughtful on just what Jane would have thought!

This was a spicy take on the classic. In fact, much of it is the original novel with the new narrative and steamy scenes mixed into it in a different order. Here most of the novel takes place when Elizabeth visits her best friend at her new home following her marriage to Elizabeth's cousin. Much of what happened before is flashback. what follows after has a few additions of the naughty sort.
I like that the characters personalities weren't change to fit the erotic narrative, but the story develops in a way that fits what we know to be true to them. The author also included something political in the writing too.
Great read, highly recommend.

Jane Austen is one of my favorite authors so I was apprehensive as to how this version of Pride and Prejudice would turn out. I have read other stories from Georgette Brown that I really enjoyed though so I thought this would be an interesting mash up. I thought that this would be like another take on the original that is completely rewritten but it seemed to use a lot of the original work of Jane Austen. Perhaps if I hadn't read the original so much, I would have enjoyed this more but at times I was skipping over sections that were just taken from the original work. I did really enjoy the newer parts that made up the Pleasure part of Pride, Prejudice, and Pleasure. It added a bit of spice to the relationship between Darcy and Elizabeth. The author was really great in building a slow heat between the characters along with a bit of intrigue. She managed to add some new scenes that lead to reinterpretation of old scenes. Overall, it's an enjoyable version of the main relationship in Pride and Prejudice that is more steamy. I received an ARC and am voluntarily reviewing this book.

“In vain I have struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.”

Jane Austen is an all time favourite author, and currently completing her entire works. Steamy romances, I am here for it! Sadly, there was no pleasure. 52% in and it's a DNF.
Georgette Brown deserves commending on accurately following the original story-line although there is a lot of repetition. The writing style & dialogue was appropriate for the era with a steamy passage added occasionally. It also reinforces the restrictions placed on women during this period including women being sexually liberated at the time.

The friendship between Lizzy Bennett & Mrs Trenwith was something to admire, introducing her to the world of art & books of carnal pleasure was a nice touch. However, I did not like the deceit of Mr Darcy being her "secret" mentor. I believe classics should be left alone and would prefer authors to take inspiration but write a new, modern version entirely.

Would have been 5 stars but...

There are loooong passages of the original Austen text that only sometimes is interwoven with the variation plot. So much of it is included as to not only border on plagiarism but also bore the reader because (presumably) they have already read or at least are aware of the key points of P&P from watching different film productions. There are several chapters that I flat out skipped because nothing new had been added or enhanced the core story.

Had the authors skimmed over the pertinent P&P parts with quick summaries and focused on the variation plot, the story would have been so much richer and rewarding.

Taking this into account, any future readers who are not faint of heart should definitely spend the time on this variation!

This version wasn’t bad. I do recommend reading the original P&P before reading any knock off versions. I do feel like a lot of the dialogue was just copied and pasted from P&P when all that was needed was a summary in places not a re-telling. I did love seeing one of my favorite couples have a more intimate romantic relationship. I did like the added character of Abby. She was definitely more progressive considering the time period. But I liked that about her. I didn’t love how some of the context and wording was changed and said by different characters from the original P&P. Overall it wasn’t that bad. Original is still my favorite.

no fim fica apenas ok. meh.
o hot é apenas ok tbm. meh.
E AINDA É LONGO PRA KCT!!!

I already own the original P&P

I own Jane Austen's original P&P. If I wanted to read it again, I wouldn't have purchased another version claiming to be a variation! At least 3/4 of this book were copy and pasted. Entire chapters from the original, woven with a tiny plot thread occasionally for the last 1/4. The thread actually had potential until the author tried to weave spicy scenes with chapters of Miss Austen's actual words! The more you read, the more chapters are quoted, and the less is actually written by the author. What a waist of money. Do not recommend! I can only be glad that Jane Austen was at least listed as author. Still tacky, though!

Go to local library

If you have a copy of Pride and Prejudice, take it down off the shelf, dust it .off and reread it. You’ll have save yourself $$$ spent for this book. There were four sexual lessons it the book to remind you that book was written by Georgette Brown and not Jane Austin. The reason I gave it three stars is that the last chapter was very good, in giving, the resolution to all the main characters. This resolution was never given in the original Austin but taken care of very well by Ms Brown.

This novel had a lot of good moments, a lot of sweet moments; BUT it also had lot of just okay moments that really didn't bring the same warm smile to my face as the other moments had. However, even though there were times when it would lull and I would begin to ponder about choosing another novel,  something would grab my attention again- just enough to reel me back in to stick by the side of this author. In the end, though, I'm glad I finished reading this novel.

I honestly couldn't finish reading it. The 1st 3 chapters were so confusing & a bunch of Narrative from Lizzy.
I was so bored & confused trying to read this Book.
I was truly trying to figure out who Lizzy was referring to during the 3 1/4 chapters i read through.
I really wished the last Book in this Boxset was just as good as the other Books, but i was disappointed.

The author basically copied and pasted P & P then added a few sex scenes to spice it up. I found myself skipping a lot of the pages since I’ve already read P & P so many times. Would I re-read this book no. Would I recommend this book no. I just want to pretend I never read it.

It's basically pride and prejudice fan fiction but in the good old AOL kind of way. The only way that really bothered be was the spelling and format errors they missed (though that might have been the kindle version only).

This book regurgitates a lot of the writing of the original book. What results is a disjointed mess. What was added by the author did nothing for me in the sense of broadening the scope of the characters’ personalities enough for me to believe the lukewarm sex scenes. I didn’t 1-Star because I can tell that the author did try her best to fit her vision in with the original narrative.
