The Alaska Bloodhounds are the newest team in the Continental Football Association. These wild shifters are rough and ready for the season.
They only need one thing: women.
Do you have what it takes to be a Real Werewife?
In this episode—

Sebastian Connall spent the last seven years running — from his twin brother, who kicked him out of his pack, from his wolf, and toward his chance to play football at the professional level. He thought his chance at having a destined mate disappeared when he lost his pack until a quirky travel blogger awakens his wolf.

Naomi Hart has her own agenda, and it’s not hooking up with a football player on a reality show. An all-expenses-paid trip to Alaska is a golden opportunity for her travel blog. But when a smokin’ hot werewolf with amber eyes and a chequered past approaches her at the Real Werewife party, she’ll reconsider her commitment-phobe ways.

Love is the one game Sebastian doesn't know how to play. And his brother won't play by pack rules. He already gave Sebastian one chance to leave Alaska alive. But this time, win or lose, Sebastian is done running.

Kristen Strassel is far cooler than she’ll make herself sound in this bio. She enjoys spending time with the voices in her head—nudging the characters toward those bad decisions and a happily ever after. When she’s not writing, she’s often still in the land of make-believe—doing makeup for film and television. And when she’s not doing any of that, she enjoys making her house look like a Pinterest board, watching football, and road trips to the middle of nowhere.

The flow did not work for me.

So this book I picked this up from one of the many newsletters that I am a part of. The cover drew me in and thr synopsis had me. The issue that I have with this story is that it did not flow for me. There were moments where I felt completely lost. I loved the interaction with the Bloodhounds but when Sebastian and Naomi were together it felt as though there was a lot of things missing. The ending was lackluster for me. I know this is part of a series but it was not the best ending. I needed more. The synopsis for book two seems to resolve a lot of things but I do not know if I want to ready book two. 🤷🏿‍♀️😩

What's a Little Cold!

What a fun and wild new series, I love it....I'm not a football fan, but this story had me hooting like one for the Bloodhounds!

Naomi Hart only lives for traveling and giving her blog Naomi Hart Travels readers a feel for the road without going there. Her mom feels that Naomi's biological clock is running out of time, so she signs her up to a new reality show The Real Werewives of Alaska in hopes that she will meet someone in the football team The Bloodhounds, but Naomi is hell bent on sabotaging it. She has always sabotaged potential hookups in all ways possible even in the lingerie she wears, but when she gets a look at Sebastian at the reception, she wishes she had packed and dressed a bit more provocatively. But hey who would want her as a wife anyway, she's a disaster waiting to happen.

Sebastian is a lone wolf, his twin made sure he left the pack and Alaska years ago because of his obsession with playing football and being around other were all the time, now his only family and pack are the shifter football team The Bloodhounds. Even his wolf has remained dormant and quiet, but when he gets a whiff of of the girl in Pj's at the punch bowl he wants to jump out of his skin. MATE! Maybe coming back to Alaska was the best thing for him, but he must keep her safe from Stefan & the pack who swore to kill him if he stepped foot in Alaska again.

This story will keep you laughing and on the edge of your seat. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

All the better to bite you with. 5 CLAW MARKS

It’s a wolf thing. Patience, beast. Shifter or not, everyone was on the prowl. Sebastian might be the wolf, but he knew how to make a woman purr. What made you want to be a Werewife, Naomi? Behave yourself, Naomi. What fun would that be? HOOOWL! Werewives of Alaska! *ahem* Be thankful you - or Mr. Zevon - couldn't hear me butchering his awesome song!! TOUCHDOWN!! What a truly fantabulous story that had me captivated from the very beginning to the very perfect ending! Thanks in large part to Kristen's seductive storylines, her enthralling storytelling, the multifaceted characters and the way I became them, and how all of those aspects combined flawlessly together so that their story became my story, their emotions fed my own and how I love, Love, LOVED every second of it!! I found myself smiling, frowning, laughing, crying, cursing, biting my nails, giggling at the antics of his wolf, wanting to pet his wolf and pretty much every other emotion & reaction this wolf-derful story can invoke in me! The deep & immediate connection I felt to/with Naomi surprised even me! In some ways I knew it exactly what she felt, what she is/was going through and how to take the easy way out. As for Sebastian... *dreamy sigh* Well let's just say that I connected with him as well, for different reasons of course, but the connection was there none the less, pulling me in, showing & sharing ALL of him with me! wink Okay, I will be honest upfront - I am not a fan of football because I couldn't ever make heads or tails out of the rules, howl-ever, I never had Sebastian & Kristen explaining it all to me! I LOVE all of the football puns and I definitely could get into Kristen's kind of football games!! Even before I read her notes at the end I knew Kristen was in her element, had her Game Face on and loving every single minute of it! That love & passion flowed throughout the story, enriching everything it touched, enhancing it to the point that even I was so wrapped up in it, revelling in all things Football and Love, cheerleading Sebastian and Naomi... WAIT!! I don't have any pompoms! Isn't that like Rule #1 for any cheerleader?!? :) One of my very most favorite parts to any great shifter story, is when the animal has its own personality, when it natters, grumbles, encourages & bosses around it's human side. To me, that adds a whole other layer of depth, enrichment and enhancement to the story. Well, Kristen did NOT disappoint in any way!! Sebastian's Wolf is so full of personality, I mean wolfality, he cracks me right up!! It's imPAWssible to NOT laugh, smile, appreciate the simplicity of Wolf's thoughts & actions, to NOT fall in love with him, with both sides of Sebastian! So whether you are a football fan, a shifter fan, a romantic - closet or otherwise or someone who just loves a terrific story, than SCORE!!! Because this IS THE book you're looking for!! Kristen proves yet again why she is one of my very favorite authors, although just once I'd like to read a book that doesn't have me & my emotions Running Wild! Okay, not really as that is one of the numerous reasons why I love, Love, LOVE her books & what keeps me running back for more!! “I wanted more. So much more. I couldn’t be proud of my future if I was ashamed of my past.”

Running Wild is the first book in the Real Werewives of Alaska series, which is a unique take on a television series finding mates for a brand new football team in Alaska! Naomi was signed up to be a Werewife, but she figures she’ll never find a mate and really just wants to travel and experience Alaska. Sebastian is a rookie and the Bloodhounds are his last chance at the pros, but being in Alaska might just end his life. Can these two wild creatures find a home, peace, and maybe even love in each other, or will his past tear them apart?

Y’all, this book was fabulous! I thought it was a unique concept of a reality show for shifters. I really liked Naomi, she was full of spunk and she knew who she was, or at least what she wanted, and that wasn’t to settle. I loved Sebastian’s influence on her, too! I think my most favorite part about this book was how Naomi and Sebastian fit so perfectly together. Separate, they’re kind of a hot mess, but together, they are strong, they get each other in every sense, and while their life isn’t perfect, it’s theirs! There’s some laugh out loud moments, some that tug at your heart, but overall I loved this book and look forward to reading the next book in the series!

This is a new author to me and I am glad I took a chance on this book.

Sebastian's dream has always been to play pro football. As a shifter the only team that would allow him to play was back in the state that he was run out of. His brother told him that if he ever returned home he would be killed. However the though of not playing football was too much not to jump at the opportunity.

Naomi is a travel blogger that is more know of leaving a situation without sticking it out. She gets roped into appearing on the real werewives of Alaska, a dating show the hooks up woman with the shifters on the Bloodhounds team. This is where Naomi meets Sebastian. Sebastian knows quickly that Naomi is his true mate but with everything that is going on with football, his old pack and the TV show, there just isn't a right time to tell her.

I really liked certain elements of this story. There was a lot of action, romance and humor. There was just one small thing that bothered me. At times Sebastian seemed like a man, but then at other times he acted sort of like a high schooler. It was hard to follow him.

I would read more from this author.

Action, suspense, a reality show and throw in some scorching passion what’s not to love!

This is my first time reading anything written by Kristen Strassel and I didn’t know what to expect but I believe she is a talented author and Running Wild (The Real Werewives of Alaska Book 1) is a perfect example. Ms. Strassel artistic quality is clearly shown in her characters Naomi Hart and Sabastian Connall.

Beautiful and smart Naomi takes her blogging very seriously, but no one else does. That is until she meets Sebastian at a reality TV show meet and greet. Sebastian’s body is all hard muscle but it doesn’t hurt he’s sexy too.

I love the excitement and the action Sebastian and Naomi live up to as the reality TV show puts them in the spotlight. I loved the suspense of Sebastian’s pack wanting him dead, and the burning desire that heats up the pages I just couldn’t put it down.

Don’t pass up a chance to read Running Wild (The Real Werewives of Alaska Book 1)!! It’s a book I loved from the beginning to the end.

Highly Entertaining, Quirky and Sexy Alaskan Shifter story!!

Naomi Hart is on an all-expense trip to Alaska. It is for a reality show her mom hoodwinked her into; the Real Werewives were women come to be matched with shifter football team members. Naomi is really checking off a box on her bucket list, getting experiences for her travel blog and expects to be the first kicked off the show.

Sebastian is from Alaska, was kicked out of the pack by his brother, and may be killed if they discover his return. When he sees Naomi in sweatpants, fuzzy boots and hoodie he thinks she is part of the crew. But his wolf knows she is his mate! Even the producer had scripted Naomi as a “screw-up”, but Naomi is genuine and may just become the star of the show.

A story full of humor, competition, danger, and being true to yourself. Once you start, you will not be able to put it down!

3.5 stars for Running Wild by Kristen Strassel. This is book 1 in the Real Werewives of Alaska series. This book is about Sebastin Connell, a werewolf football player who was kicked out of his pack in Alaska awhile ago and Naomi Hart, a travel blogger who lives fast and free. She hasn’t stuck to one thing and seems to quite a lot. This was a cute short read. I enjoyed the unique storyline with the reality show trying to find these weres mates. Naomie and Sebastin have never given love a chance, but will they be willing to if it is their soulmate. This was a quick short read and I am looking forward to reading more of this series.

I liked the book. It was definitely a roller coaster ride for sure. The characters are great and the story is good, but I also feel it could have been a bit better. I was confused at first about the ending of the book. I did not quite understand what really happened between him and his brother. I felt the story was left incomplete. I did really enjoy the epilogue though. That was pretty awesome. Having that said, the book could have been improved but it was still a good read.

I had to jump into this series because the title cracked me up. And I was not disappointed. This story of Sebastian and Naomi made me laugh, sad and sit on the edge of my seat. It is sweet with romance and full of action. Not being a football fan left me a feeling a little left out of those scenes but the story was still wonderful. I can't wait to read the next in the series. I requested an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Running Wild

Football and romance! Who could believe such a great romance, shifter, and conflict, would be a exciting book to read. At the beginning when Sebastian gets run off the island by his twin, you didn't have any idea how he would be able to come home. Throw in a shifter football team and a production company to make a hit. Naomi was great also. Trying to get kicked out and finds her love instead.

Sebastian & Naomi - what a fun read!! I love the concept of The Real Werewives - if we got to be so lucky that shifters existed, this is a show I would totally watch. And Naomi Harts Travel is a blog / IG page I would totally follow. The cast leaps off the page & I had fun on the adventures in the book.

Our couple had to work through some issues, and the way they supported each other was great! I highly enjoyed this story & am looking forward to Gunnar's book. : )

normally i wouldn’t read a cheesy romance book but i made an exception since it was on my tbr for ages and i needed something to quickly burn through in a little readathon i was doing.

and i have to say, this was the kind of trashiness that i actually enjoyed. is it good on a technical level? absolutely not. is it a little silly and a decent read to switch off your brain to? absolutely.

it’s camp.

When running back Sebastian mistakes Naomi for a crew member at the kickoff party, neither of them can deny there’s something more between them. Much more. But, is she ready? Absolutely loved this one. Sebastian and Naomi went through so much to get where they are. Glad, they found their forever home.

Please form your own opinion. This just wasn’t for me.

Honestly, there was just way way way way way too much going on in this book. Possible spoilers:

Football players.
Shifters.
Reality TV show.
Fated mates.
Commitment phobic main characters.
Pack rivalry.
Jealous brother.
Weird historical timeline.
And more that I’m forgetting.

Super cute, crazy read

This was a super cute, easy read; that had some great messages. This is a super quick read that will not tax your mind. Just a great escape for a couple hours. I liked the storyline and characters. I felt so bad for the H. His background was sad, but really glad the H supported him along with his teammates.

I love shifter stories and this one was no different great Characters and a great storyline. Nothing like to have hot football players that also shift into your favorite animals that brings a bit of a twist to finding your mate and your pack.
