Peculiar Mysteries #3.5

My Peculiar Road Trip

Rate this book
Sometimes you ride the road to adventure and sometimes the road rides you, which is exactly how I’d felt as I sat up and picked ditch gravel from my elbow and tall grass from my hair. All I’d wanted was a girls’ weekend away from home, a sort of double bachelorette party for two of my friends who were both getting married soon. No guys, no kids, no restaurant.

But right now, as I cataloged the bumps and bruises, I only knew two things for certain: First, we were no longer in Reno, and second, Hell had a new name — Assjacket.

****

When human psychic Sunny Trimmel and her three best friends decide to go on a weekend getaway, they get away all right — into an alternate reality where cats talk, her Shifter friends are stuck in their animal forms, and they’re dumped into a rural hell known as Assjacket, West Virginia.

Thanks to a vengeful witch’s magic gone wrong, the girls are sucked into one of the most peculiar adventures they’ve ever had. People and landmarks are disappearing all over town. Sunny will have to rely on her faulty psychic visions, her friends, and the crazy townsfolk of Assjacket, West Virginia to solve the mystery — or they might never find their way home.

Suck it, Dorothy. Tornadoes have nothing on this twister of a tale.

Author Note: This is a Magic & Mayhem/Peculiar Mystery crossover. It can be read as a stand alone, and it does not effect the Peculiar Mysteries world timeline.

About Renee:
USA Today Bestselling author Renee George writes paranormal mysteries and romances because she loves all things whodunit, Otherworldly, and weird. Also, she wishes her pittie, the adorable Kona Princess Warrior, and her beagle, Josie the Incontinent Princess, could talk. Or at least be more like Scooby-Doo and help her unmask villains at the haunted house up the street.

When she’s not writing about mystery-solving werecougars or the adventures of a hapless psychic living among shapeshifters, she is preyed upon by stray kittens who end up living in her house because she can't say no to those sweet, furry faces. (Someone stop telling them where she lives!)

She resides in Mid-Missouri with her family and spends her non-writing time doing really cool stuff...like watching TV and cleaning up dog poop.

Sunny and the gang really took bachelorette partying to the extreme. I was pleased to see the direction this book took being it was part of Robin Peterman’s Kindle World with characters that we have already grown to know and love. Maybe I should have suspected the turns but I didn’t. They story was a great addition without losing it’s heart.

This is a new author to me and thought I would start with this cute novella with the cute cover. Four friends on a pre-wedding trip to Reno end up in Assjacket, West Virginia. They were pretty sure this was a LSD trip or maybe they were dead. Nope, it was a witch spell gone bad. I enjoyed the humor and the friendship.

This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. When human psychic Sunny Trimmel and her three best friends decide to go on a weekend getaway, they get away all right-- into an alternate reality where cats talk, her Shifter friends are stuck in their animal forms, and they're dumped into a rural hell known as Assjacket, West Virginia. Thanks to a vengeful witch's magic gone wrong, the girls are sucked into one of the most peculiar adventures they've ever had. People and landmarks are disappearing all over town. Sunny will have to rely on her faulty psychic visions, her friends, and the crazy townsfolk of Assjacket, West Virginia to solve the mystery--or they might never find their way home. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

What Goes To Reno Doesn't Stay There

I have enjoyed reading about the characters from Peculiar. They are so interesting, funny, quirky and just a little bat shooting crazy at times. You will never be bored reading about the characters from this town.

Ladies trip to Hell aka Assjacket, Missouri another weird time and place to visit especially when you did not travel there of your own free will. New character to enjoy. I hope the author thinks about writing more about these citizen from Assjacket Missouri.

I have voluntarily read and reviewed this delightful story without obligation to do so.

ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was just supposed to be a girl's weekend away / Bachelorette Party.
How were they supposed to know that they would be sucked into an alternate reality ?
Now they are stuck in West Virginia, and they don't have any idea of how to get home.
The horror: in this reality, their town does not even exist.
Instead of wallowing in despair, they are going to show the town of Assjacket what they are made of.
With the help of new friends, they will find a way to return to their own reality.
This was a very fun read.
I love the crossover.
More crossovers please!

Funny, quirky and so entertaining. Sunny Trimmel is in Reno for a Bachelorette weekend with her friends and sister in law. They stumble upon a fortune teller, Jane Tennison, and end up in a ditch in Assjacket , West Virginia. There are talking cats, witches and the squirrel brothers. How did they get here and the better question is how will they get home. There is a mystery they must solve and Sunny and her visions help. This was a fun book that was laugh out loud funny. It was a quick read and you will enjoy the witty dialog.

This series is one that I like stepping into whenever it appears. In this one I took a trip that was like no other with characters that kept me company along the way. The humor is the gas that fuels you along with Sunny needing to get it together. You are somewhere you do not want to be but kept on your toes. With intrigue happening at any minute you can not step away at all or you might miss something. I found myself inching to the edge of my sitting a time or two. Enjoyed how different from the different this was along with entertaining.

When Sunny and her Girl Pack visit Reno for a bachelorette party, they have no idea what's in store for them....or that they'll end up in....another dimension?? WHAT?!? Will Sunny be able to figure things out and get the back home safely? Don't miss out on reading this fun and quirky book and find out these answers for yourself. I think it's an excellent addition to both the Peculiar Mystery and Magic and Mayhem KW series.
I received a reader copy of this book but my opinions are honest and my own.

Amusing and interesting story with Sunny and her besties in a new and different adventure. A trip to Reno to enjoy a girl’s weekend became a nightmare for the girls. A witch wrongdoing and the forces of the Cosmos were the killjoys. Liked this funny story with the peculiar plot development and the mystery presented

A fun crossover

I hadn’t read the Peculiar mysteries before picking this up but i for sure will now. I gotta find out the backstories on these characters. George does a fabulous job of combining all the fun of Assjacket with the great characters from her series. Love these Magic and Mayhem spinoffs!

While I received an ARC of this book, I have made an independent decision to post this review. Sunny and her shapeshifter friends were on a spur of the moment bachelorette party in Reno and decide to visit a psychic. Next thing they know, they awaken in their animal states and the adventure begins. This book is a fun read!

Assjacket is not the place she would have picked for a pre-wedding party, but somehow she and all her friends have ended up there. What happened? How did they get there and why can't her friends shift? It's a mystery that needs to be solved. I loved this book. Renee George makes me laugh. I would recommend this story.

This is a quick reading story. It’s funny and unique. Sunny and her pals get tossed into another place where her friends are stuck in their animal forms but can talk. So it’s up to Sunny and her psychic abilities to figure out how to get them back home. Lots of chuckles.

Complete Mayhem

This novella finds residents of Peculiar thrown into Assjacket in another universe.
It’s a short but fun read, especially the four, naked chipmunks and the fat cat familiars

Sunny had sort of an adventure. She planned a bachelorette party in Reno for two friends who were getting married. Instead, she found herself picking road gravel from her elbows – and no longer in Reno!

It all started off in Reno, where an exhausted Sunny was dragged along to a fortune teller that her paranormal friends wanted to visit. With Sunny being a REAL psychic and not a fake entertainer, this was not something she really wanted to do – especially since the mother-of-two would much rather get some sleep on this rare weekend away. She made snarky and negative remarks about every word out of the fortune teller’s mouth. When she leaned over and grabbed the woman’s arm, she got a vision and they all woke up in West Virginia in a ditch at the side of the road!

Sunny looked around. Her three shifter friends were all shifted to their animals and apparently could not shift back. Only Chav, her best wolfy friend, could communicate. With no other alternative, they headed for town. Almost immediately, their path was blocked by three cats – who suddenly spoke to them! When they tried to tell the cats where they were from, they found that none of them could remember! Reno was their last memory! How would they get home? Where WAS home? What happened to them?

This author writes amazing stories and this is yet another worth reading! I love the humor and craziness you can always expect. The characters are wonderful and very likable. The story line grabs you from the start and takes you right into a very strange adventure. You won’t want to miss this one! This is only the beginning of a wild weekend gone very wrong! Grab your copy and enjoy!!!

I absolutely enjoyed this fast paced short story. This funny entertaining read had my attention from beginning to end. I guess what happen in Reno doesn't stay there. I'm not one to give spoilers so you'll have to check this out for yourself to see this crazy adventure that Sunny and her girls take you on. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no minority compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.
