Baby for My Brother's Friend

Rate this book
Until I missed a period, and then two . . . Yeah. I’m pregnant. With a stranger’s baby.

I don’t know his name. I don’t even know what he looks like. The secret club where we met was dark, and he was wearing a mask.

That night, I surrendered to his commanding voice and hot, dominant touch . . . and then he showed me his true colors.

I’ll probably never see him again. After what happened, I don’t want to see him again.

But three years later, he storms back into my life.

He shows up like just another one of my brother’s dinner guests, then he corners me. He tells me he knows my secret.

That’s when I recognize those green eyes. Those chiseled features. That big . . . ego.

The pure, unbridled desire in his gaze makes me want to give in. I want him to tie me up, blindfold me, and . . .

No. It would be wrong. Reckless. How can I trust him, after what he did that night?

But he says he’s not going anywhere. He says he’s been looking all over for me. Now that he’s found me and the baby, he wants us to be a family.

This is a standalone, full-length novel. No cheating, no cliffhanger, and a guaranteed happily ever after.

Quick and entertaining!

I liked the plot. It was interesting, and even if it is similar to others I’ve read before it definitely had unique bits that helped it stand out as it’s own story. I like the whole unexpected pregnancy ordeal with a ONS, and how it was done.

Yes, it was over the top, but it’s a fun read. The only reason I took off stars is because it began to feel a little bit dragged out and repetitive towards the middle and the end. Other than that Baby for My Brother’s Friend is a quick and fun read.

This book started out ok, but then Katie The Kunt had to ruin it. Nag! Nag! Nag! I don't condone violence against women but she deserved a backhand. Sorry. She was so freaking irritating. I hated how she treated Adam. She said on multiple occasions that he was a terrible father because he had sex with HER, a stranger, at the freaking sex club!!! Well what does that make you, you freaking hypocrite?!! I found it weird that her brother was a little too cool with this situation. My brother would have whooped some serious ass and then would've been so upset with me being a sex worker lol. Adam was barely given a chance to be a father. He was constantly judged for every little thing he did. She was hysterical because the child fell asleep in her bed. I was rolling my eyes at her the entire book. She constantly kept telling him he wasn't good enough or how he was doing everything wrong the entire time. All he ever did was say sorry and tell her how great of a mother she was. Rolling my eyes at the fact that we're supposed to believe she was perfect and made no mistakes raising their child. Show me one mother who hasn't! I would've left her and sued for custody so I wouldn't have to deal with her crap.

It earns a -__- face. So at least it was short.
Okay I honestly felt this started out promising to be an funny, light read, with the line "what fresh fuckery is this?". Something to kill some time in the evening. But it was just annoying.

So we've got poor Katie, who is a young independent lady putting herself through school to become a nurse. Though I can't tell if she's a nurse yet when the MC's meet, but the timelines through this whole book are wonky. Oh she's also infertile and will never have kids. But don't waste any energy asking why she's unable to have kids, because the book will never tell you. Or why she knows this before she's even tried to have kids and even gone to a f-n fertility doctor. So she takes a gig from her friend Monica (who is never mentioned again) to work at a "kinky sex club" called Succubus. A Dom/sub club for rich dominate men. (I kept wondering about the rich dominate women, but I guess they get a club.) I don't know how this club stays in business as they don't keep any employee records, so I'm not sure what they do come tax time. "I mean I'd love to give you a w-9, but we only know your working name Chasity..." -__-
So this super elite club apparently ships in new waitresses in every night and has to have Kendra train them all in with all of the rules they have for working with Dom men (and if you don't understand Dom/sub yet, don't worry the book will explain it to you again and again.) I don't know why they would have issues retaining employees... Any who, so here enters Adam.

Adam is a super rich, self-made workaholic, who loves his mom, and who likes to be a dominate in a sexual relationship. But finds the one night stands he gets at Succubus unfulfilling, and can't seem to find the time or energy to find a date else where, so he just doesn't have a personal life. On a whim he visits Succubus one evening and meets Katie. And literally has a love at first sight moment where f-n Etta James is singing At Last in his head. He just has to have Katie, but he's a bit nervous, so he does a few silly things, like leave her money after sex to replace the bra he tore without explaining why he left money.
So now poor Katie, who only has casual hook-ups because she's infertile, and guys leave her once they find this out. Yes, poor Katie can't find a guy who is okay with NOT having kids. Yes, I believe there are some guys out there who want families, but then there the millions of other guys who see kids as nothing but work, responsibility, a burden and the death of the life they want/live. And poor Katie can't seem to find a single one of them, maybe if she wasn't such a party girl who only went to the bars where all the want-to-be-dads hang out. So now poor Katie feels like a whore.
A couple months later poor Katie finds out she's pregnant. Even though she has this mysterious infertility issue and Adam used a condom, that didn't break, she is knocked up. And in one of her true understandable moments she decides this may be her one shot at having a kids, and decides to have the baby.
Meanwhile Adam spends the next 3 years looking for Katie. His super fancy club won't give him any help ( even though Katie came to them looking to get in touch with him because she was pregnant.) He hires an investigator as a thinly veiled plot device to accidentally find Katie when he gets invited to dinner, because who'd a thunk it, but it turns out that Katie is the sister of the investigator who's been looking for her for two freaking years. (Which gives us one of the few funny bits where Sawyer jokes that Adam's mysterious Katie could even be his sister Katie.)
So because Adam isn't stupid he's able to put together Katie's kid is his and then starts trying to be part of their life. And you know what. I was rooting for him. He's been actively looking for this woman, he wasn't been sleeping around, AT ALL. And when he finds out he has a kid, he wants in on that. He also never blackmails poor Katie with her past, although he does threaten legal action if she keeps his kid from him and you know what I think thats fair. He never abused her, knowingly hurt her and did anything to deserve being shut out of his kids life. (He keeps referring to William as his first born, like he thinks there'll be more kids even though Katie has explained the mysterious infertility to him, but I guess because she's given him a kid, he won't leave her now. Because all guys want are kids.)
And Katie has suddenly decided she doesn't want to share lil'William, but is still awfully attracted to Adam and he's got a point about having a right to know his kid. So lets him hang with them, and then starts having smexy time with him again. (Which is just meh smexy time for me, but the BDSM thing and dirty talk aren't my things.) But while new daddy Adam is learning the ropes, Katie makes sure that he knows every single f-n thing he does wrong. And she knows all of the things, because she's a nurse and she has read a lot of books... -__-
And extremely patient Adam admits he has a lot to learn and takes it. Apologizes and keeps trying, because he loves these two. But he messes up again while William is in the car, because a dog (what?) is sleeping in the road. And he forgets to put his parking break on when he gets out to move the dog. Which makes him more of a bad driver really, I mean how has he not totaled more of his fancy expensive cars. Katie decides even though everyone is fine, they have to break up. Adam really wants to be a dad, so even though he could sue for parental rights, he just spends the next year doing his damnedest to be a good dad and read all the parenting books. And showing Katie otherwise.
Eventually Poor Katie takes him back, and two more years later Adam finally proposes and yay they are a happy family.

So as a single mom, I had all sorts of issues on how Katie acted. Hardly any of it meshed with my realty. And the only thing keeping this from being a 1 star book was Adam being a rather decent guy. I don't think he had a slimy bone in his body. I probably only finished it because my Kindle app said I was only 25% through the book, and I was curious where the hell this book was going with 75% left and accidentally finished it. Turns out there is a whole other "bonus" book after it Single Dad's Fake Bride. Which I started because I couldn't sleep. And while it seems to have an equally shallow and silly plot (with generic self-made rich guy), it doesn't suck yet. So there's that.

This was an okay book. I really disliked Katie so it was hard for me to get into it. I think her over reactions to everything involving her child was very unrealistic. As a mother of two it just didn't seem to fit. And as much as the book centers around William he wasn't really involved that much.

FAMILY - HEART-WARMING - STEAMY

Adam has been going to the BDSM club Succubus for years and has yet to find a woman that comes close to piquing his interest. Women beg for his attention but as a wealthy workaholic, he puts relationships off. Katie a bright sassy beautiful nurse accepts a waitress position at the club.

While waitressing Katie accidentally drops her tray of drinks in front of Adam ruining her first night of employment; so she thought. Thrilled he is wearing a mask he is quite taken with her. Adam coaxes her into a private room where he takes control over her pleasure and she dutifully accepts his every whim. When their night is over he disappears like a Phantom. Three years later he shows up with her brother for dinner. Katie is angry because the night he left her he did something that hurt her deeply. Adam is determined to make Katie his and prove he is worthy of being a great dad.

Impressive well-written enticing read with vivid scene descriptions that wow you, witty dialogue, tension, fun times and sultry passionate romance that leaves you breathless. Adam and Katie had their ups and downs, but their roller coaster romance has a wondrous ending. A cast of praise-worthy characters makes this a fabulous read. I thoroughly enjoyed the way the author had Adam working to prove himself as Katie truly is an independent and protective mom. This story will not disappoint and if you treasure romance this is a fantastic book for your library. I loved this story so much {I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy.} Without reservations, I recommend this book.

Never give up is my motto for this story about a dominant man, Adam, who has been searching for something but he doesn’t know what it is. He finds it one night at a BDSM club and her name is Katie. After a steamy night together he goes back to find her, unfortunately no one will give him the information he needs and after a year he hires a P.I. not willing to give up. Katie has also thought about that man in the club and he left her with a surprise, she even tried finding him but gave up after a while. What happens when he finds her and learns her secret is a story you don’t want to miss.
I LOVED this story especially Adam who wasn’t a man wh*** and didn’t try to forget Katie with others. There were no exes or women crawling out of the woodwork and is one of the reasons why I thought this story deserves more than 5 stars. He was completely dedicated to Katie and didn’t give up on his search or on Katie.....true romance in my eyes. Katie at times I wanted to shake some sense into her but I could understand her wanting to protect herself especially after what she’s been through and being the only parent in her son’s life.
A great steamy read that spans years that also builds up their relationship, gaining and earning trust, falling in love and becoming a family.

Liked this romance! It is about a boy that meets a girl, dominates a girl, leaves a girl without girls information, thinking she will be back at the club the next day. Little did he know that a little misunderstanding would ruin that night for said girl. Three years later and boy and girl are just seeing each other again. Needless to say, Adam has been looking for the said girl (Katie) all that time. Katie and Adam have a relationship in this book, they are friends, parents, and lovers. I love that. Katie does come across sometimes as overprotective, but that is okay, she has a child to look after and sometimes that is how mothers are. Loved it. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.

It covered some time...

I once read a historical romance, wherein the H and h fell in love while teenagers. Through an arranged marriage, the h wound up with another man. They were married til he died, and she was in her 70s. Then, the H showed up again, and they spent their remaining years together.
This romance didn't spread out over quite that many years, though it sure felt like it did. Reading along, end of chapter. New chapter, is titled...One year later. Or Two years later. On and on it went.
It had great potential, but never quite came together for me. Rather than just writing a flowing, cohesive story, our mission seemed to be to cover as many years as possible, without everybody growing too old. Just not my cup of tea, I guess

One chance encounter at a sex club leads to a passion filled night. Adam and Katie both felt the connection but walk away with no personal information shared. Adam cannot let her go and searches for her for two years. One dinner with his friend later reveals that the girl of his dreams is his friends sister. But Katie has her own secrets, she has a son. But is the boy Adam's? Will Adam finally get the girl and a family to love? Or with this reunion end in heartbreak? With great characters and a storyline that was filled with emotion and passion this is a story that is a must read. Once again, Nikki Chase does not disappoint.

Not worth it

Save your time and money. It's as if this was written by a teenager just beginning her writing career. It was very childish with some sex scenes thrown in the mix. I love to read and can mostly read anything but this was torture. I'll give the author another try but don't have high hopes.

Katie is a nurse who take a job in a BDSM club and catches the eye of businessman, Adam, who finds his attraction to her undeniable. One night is all they have, and he wants more. But, when he returns to the club and finds her no longer working there, he knows he needs to go to whatever lengths necessary to find her, including hiring a private detective.

Shortly after the connection Katie made with the sexy dominant at The Succubus, she finds out she's pregnant. Deciding to keep the child was easier than finding his father, which turns out to be impossible. Of course, nothing matters when it comes to raising and caring for her son. As much as she'd like to find the sexy man who gave her this gift, she has the strength to do this on her own.

Then, by unusual circumstances three years later, Adam comes face to face with the woman he hasn't been able to stop dreaming about and the child he didn't know he had. As much as they are both drawn to each other, there are difficult chasms between them that they must learn to navigate. And in the end, will they be able to find what they need to have what they both want?

This is one of my favorites. I liked the strength Katie had and the way she defended not only her child but the life she was building with him. It was magic, watching Adam grow and become someone Katie might want to have involved in her life and the life of their child. It was a great story of sacrifice and maturing besides being the hot and steamy story we have come to expect from this author. I enjoyed the involvement of Daisy from the author's story "His Virgin" and have missed so many of these characters. I would love to see her bring them all together at some point. Until then, I look forward to what she has for us next.

Good love story

This was a good love story. I felt it was a little stretched so my connection to the characters was not as strong. I often felt that there was something missing. I have read other books by this author and liked her work. I would still continue to read other books by this author.
Overview. Katie was a nurse by day and worked other odd jobs to make ends meet. Katie decided to be a waitress at the Succubus a kink club. She wasn't required to be part of the kink scene, but was also told that she was free to explore. But things all changed when she dropped her tray. Adam was shocked by this beautiful girl whom was in front of him. Not a lot of things impressed Adam. He worked hard for his millions, but there was something calling him to her. Adam orders Katie to go to a private room with him. Katie loves it, but can't understand it all, so she quits the job. But 50 days later she is pregnant and doesn't know who Adam was. Adam hires his friend Sawyer to find his mystery girl. But 2 years have past and no Katie. When Sawyer invites Adam over to his sisters for a family dinner. But Adam gets more when he noticed that Sawyers sister Katie is his mystery girl and the son is his child. Will the two find love and balance life together?

Yikes!
That was a vortex of high intensity feels! I am still trying to process the clustered mess Adam and Katie seem to manage after one hot encounter at BDSM Club!
The fast-moving storyline takes you on the bumpy ride of life they face separately and eventually together.
What a crazy train ride it was- these intriguing characters had me all over the place-I have to admit my most reoccurring emotional response was frustration- Katie is not my favorite..ahaha! I could not help but be frustrated by her maturity level and self-righteous behavior. < runs and hides > I loved Adam ( shocking I am sure) and what he fought for without complaint! #SwoonWorthy.
But as fiction meets reality I don't have to like all the characters in a book for me to like the story as a whole!
I ended up being very drawn into this storyline, watching the duo work through the shaky starts and restarts of their tenuous relationship was something I could not stop reading about, even if I wanted to shake a fictional character around < looks away whistling > Unique, with dramatic twists and turns with sweetness and humor. Nikki Chase has created another romance novel I won't soon forget!

I was looking for something a little different and the blurb seemed interesting despite the title of this book. The writing was ok, storyline was lacking in substance and Katie was just irritating. Adam was a sweetie and there was NO BDSM in this book other than where they meet and her irritatingly calling him "Sir". This book is available through Kindle Unlimited. It ends at 26% and includes several other books I did not read.

Katie takes a job at a BDSM club as a waitress and has a one night stand with Adam that results in an unplanned pregnancy. They neither one are able to find out how to contact the other, the club withholding any information. He spends 3 years trying to find her, including remaining celibate. He hires her brother as a PI after the first year, but has no luck until he invites him to dinner and he finally see's Katie again, along with his son. He tries to have a relationship with both of them but she is a total roadblock with her over protectiveness of William. It takes years but they do get their HEA. Book would have been better if it had focused on building their relationship instead of her insecurities.

Good but not great

I really liked the concept of the story, but I had a few issues within the storyline. I'm not sure if I missed it somewhere, but I don't know the reason that Katie was supposed to be infertile. And at times I would get irritated with Katie because she would get so angry with some of the accidents involving Adam and William. And I get it, that someone could get hurt, but the likelihood of serious injury was minimal, and the extent that Katie would get mad, even to the point where it affected her and Adam's relationship was excessive. Overall I think that it was worth the read, I just wish some things were different or were answered.

No thanks

I'm sorry but I couldn't deal with this book. Katie had to probably be the worst female iv read in a book before. She was so rude and mean. I get she was trying to protect her son but damn. I felt horrible for Adam. straight from the beginning he was constantly trying to do the right thing and she kept pushing and pushing. I hated her characters while I loved and pitied his character. The fact that a year into him being in his own sons life and the son still had to call him Adam? Also why was she randomly infertile? Sorry but her character completely brought this book down for me. The idea of the story was interesting and could have potentially been good.

True love found at a BDSM club...

The Succubus is a BDSM club for the rich and wealthy with unusual sexual fantasies. Katie has just started as a waitress and Adam is member (men wear masks to protect their identities). Sparks fly when their eyes meet. Can they find each other outside the club after their one night stand and an extra surprise?
Interesting and humorous story of first love.

Great second chance romance. Good storyline that is well developed and flows smoothly. Adam and Katie had a one night stand years ago that resulted in a child but Adam does not know. When they meet up again, Adam realizes Katie had his baby and he wants both in his life. It's a sweet and sexy romance you won't want to miss.

OtT like I couldn’t believe but enjoyable. However, Katie really irritated me; her neurotic behavior as a mom was just too much. Adam was definitely a “2 sides of the same coin” kind of guy and this made me enjoy the storyline. Katie: not so much but for their precious son’s sake...I’m really glad they got their HEA, in the end.

I will not lie. I bought this because the author and I share the same name but I continued reading because the story was really interesting. Katie and Adam were a unique story. I am not a big D/s reader but this story and the ones that followed were tasteful written. I liked Ashbourne and the shared location connected the stories. Nicely done Nikki! 😊

Good Story

This story was a little different than most I've read lately. It starts out the same way as most romances but it differs in that the main characters actually work very hard for their relationship and it takes time. Adam knows what he wants but it takes Katie a lot longer to recognize the same.

I just wasn't a fan of this book

Katie meeting Adam at a sex club doesn't bother me, or any of the sex scenes really. I know it is a story, but I can not relate to Katie. To me she is so overprotective that she's idiotic, and I feel bad for Adam because he takes her complaints and her telling him to stay away from his only son, and still wants to be with her.
