This is a short, action filled continuation of KN Lee’s wonderful Dragon-Born Saga. It is not a standalone. You really need to start with the first book in this series to fully understand and get full enjoyment of this book. That’s ok though as the prior books are excellent. This book 4 starts off right where book 3, Queen of the Dragons, ended. Rowen is still dreaming and still facing the end of the world prophesy. She has quite the “to do” list: stop the war, prevent the prophesy from doing what she fears, and protect bot humans dragons. With a strong plot (full of twists, turns, adventure and, yes, even romance), great lead and supporting characters, beautiful world building and superb writing, this book has pretty much everything going for it. The only thing I’d wish for is for it to be a bit longer, but I suppose that’s simply a sign of how good it is.

One warning: this book ends in a (yuck) cliffhanger. It’s easily avoided, however, by simply skipping the last page. I wish I’d known that as I hate cliffies, so consider this a service to any who are like me. If you do skip that last bit the tale ends in s perfectly satisfactory “Happily Enough For Now” and my rating is on that basis.

Read book 1 as a free offer from kobo. I'll admit it's a good short story and well written but unfortunately it is a short story, not a book, not a novel. I burned through it in about 30 minutes and was left dumbfounded at how short it was. Then I found out these short stories were selling for $4CAD(discounted from 12.99!!!). What a scam! I've read short books(solid 8 hour read) better than this for $4.

I've read up to book 5. If all 6 stories were combined in 1 I would call it a solid book or novel worth reading and get 5 stars from me. Otherwise it's just frustrating. I won't be reading book 6 unless I can find a free copy. Just don't care at this point. I won't even look at any other books from this author if this is what she publishes for books.

Can't say I'd recommend this simply because it is so short and you're expected to fork out more $ for another 30 minute read. The value just isn't there.

The dragon-born series is the first thing that I have ever read by author K.N. Lee and I must say that I am impressed. Though I am a late reader of the series, it worked out to my advantage. I did not have to wait and wait for the next installment in the series. So yes, I have read books 1-4 back to back. I do believe War of the Dragons is my favorite book thus far. The subtle love stories entwined with action and adventure creates a marvelous story. I was rooting for several characters while others simply make me dislike them. Only a good story and a good author can accomplish that. War of the Dragons was so exciting I couldn't put it down. Then just when things seemed as though I could stand it no longer, it ended. (frown) Why is it over? Guess I have to wait until the next book comes out.

I rarely write book reviews but felt this book needed one. While I enjoyed the first three books in the series, books 4 & 5 easily could have been combined to make an average length novel. Each took me only a little over an hour to read. Additionally, the amount of grammatical, spelling, and other errors was significant enough to ruin the flow of the books in several places. The biggest error was the author’s switching between the mist being red and green. With the exception of one place in book 4, the mist is red. Somehow in book 5, the mist is now green. Unless I “mist” something (🤣), this was a pretty serious goof up on the part of the editor(s). While the storyline is still interesting, I wouldn’t continue reading the books if I had to pay for them (reading them through Kindle Unlimited).

Rowen keeps dreaming of end of the world and she knows she needs to find a way to stop that from happening. This is even more imperative now she is the the queen of Withrae so is responsible for the family who are living in the palace. Can the scribe who worked for her father help her to stop the war between humans and dragons and stop it from happening?

This was a well written story that had a lots happening but it was a little slow in places. Hopefully it has done a lot of the work to set up the next book which will hopefully have a lot more drama and excitement. Well written and everything was clear and easy to understand. I'm looking forward to the next instalment now.

Please note this is the 4th book in the series and you need to have read the others first.

Terrible editing

I had high hopes for this series after reading the 1st two books. However, whomever the editor was, they should be fired. Numerous times in the last two books, I have had to try to figure out what the author was trying to say. This also tells me that the writer needs to learn check her writing.
On another note, the stories are way to short. I finish a book in barely a coup!e hours. She could have written this whole story in one of two books. It seems the last 25% of every book is spent on excerpts from other books she has written. When I purchase a book, I prefer to read that book, not a couple chapters from 2 or 3 of the writers other books. If the writing is good enough, I am likely to purchase other books the writer has produced.

War of the Dragons is the fourth book in the Dragon Born series. This is a not a standalone, as it starts off right where Queen of the Dragons ended and ends in a cliffhanger. There is violence.

The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that all of that info here. There are clues in the storyline that keep you guessing what will be revealed next. It definitely kept me reading. Overall it is an interesting storyline and worth taking the time to read. I look forward to reading more books from this author.

I received a copy of this book from the author and chose to leave a review for other readers.

In War of the Dragons: An Epic Dragon Fantasy Adventure (Dragon Born Saga Book 4) by K.N. Lee, it picks up 1 year after Queen of the Dragons: A Dragon Shifter Fantasy (Dragon Born Saga Book 3). We find Rowen and Rickard married and King and Queen of Draconia, everything is going well between them but Rowen is still having prophecies about the Red Dragon. Will everything be okay or will we finally find out what the deal is with the Red Dragon but there is only one way to find out and that is to read War of the Dragons.

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review. I'm not going to sugar-coat this - this was a cliffhanger. Just as things were beginning to heat up, it abruptly ended. I don't like that. At all. And it has a tendency to color my view of a book. In this instance, this fact is really the only negative thing I have to say about the book.

I love the plot, the writing is okay, the characters are interesting, and fortunately, there's never a long wait for the next book. I'm planning to read that one too!

The war has begun and the enemy is the human and wizards. The intensity of suspense, and drama, the most astonishing twist of fate has Rowen spinning from her latest prophecy. The danger is immense and the enemy is close at hand. The amount of hidden clues and mysteries in this book is astonishing. I felt like I was watching a movie; the ending came upon me so fast that I had to start on the fifth installment quickly.

Rowen and Rickard are now King and Queen of Draconia, but there are a lot of people who do not like or trust her. He is still having foretelling dreams. The characters have depth and backstories that bring you in close so you feel the intensity. Lots of drama, action, adventure, twists, secrets, misconceptions, hidden agendas, steamy moments and more that kept the pages turning. This series is highly addictive and this storyline fits right in. Can not wait for the next book.

In this book Rowen and Rickard are married and King and Queen of Draconia, Rowen is having dreams about their enemies and the red dragon, the book flows nicely and keeps you turning the pages. I find enemies keep coming out of the woodwork, every time one is taken care of another shows up. The one at the end of the story beats them all. Now I have to read the next book to find out what this one is about. I enjoyed the story and the series.

*voluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received from the author*

I liked this, but I was left just a little wanting. I've enjoyed the series so far and when read all at once, it makes a pretty exciting adventure for this half-breed who's made it as a queen, you know? The writing is nice and I always thought Lee's story-telling was one to look out for. It ended just a little too soon for me.

A good continuation to a great story. If you love dragons, magic, and a little romance, you will love this saga.

I think that I would like this series better if I waited and read the whole thing at one time instead of reading in little pieces. I admit that I forget some of the characters/situations between getting another look at what is going on.

But, I love Ms. Lee's writing style and the story is awesome!

Short, but interesting

This book, while as interesting as its predecessors, felt very short. Not much action occurs, but it is quite dramatic. New characters are introduced, the Dragons are being slaughtered, and magic still bears the same stigma as it has always done. Rowen is working hard at solving the mystery of her prophecies, but you have to wonder if she will have enough time - especially given the last scene!

It has been a while since I read the first 3 books in the series, but I was able to pick up and remember a lot of things as characters reappeared in this book. It is short, as the rest of the books in the series are, but each book has a great story to tell. I enjoy the characters, and the story. KN Lee has a great imagination and does well telling her stories. I like the world of humans, wizards, and dragons that she has created.

On the verge of war. Rowen and Rickard are now married and king and queen. Because she is part wizard and part dragon, the humans don’t trust her and the dragons don’t like her. And she has a younger sister she was parted from years ago. Her sister’s husband and his lands have been taken and Ophelia is a prisoner of the three king brothers. They will start a war with the help of an advisor who has betrayed them. Can Ophelia, Rowen, Rickard and friends stop the killing?

So we are back and Rowen and Rickard are now married and have become king and queen of Withrae. Of course things should settle down but not in these stories as the humans and dragons face war and a curse prevents people from shifting into their Dragon form. Can they save the day? It’s thrilling and exciting with incredible world building and strong characters. With twists and turns to keep you on your toes, I literally read this in one sitting

Being at a disadvantage of not having read the previous books in the series, I did still enjoy the book and am compelled to read the proceeding books and those forthcoming. There is a good strong storyline and lots of fantasy creatures to delight the senses.

This book was given to me as an advance readers copy in exchange for an honest review.

I was really disappointed in this one. By the time I was interested in what was happening, it was over. There was no completion or sense of getting anywhere. Its like writing a few chapters and saying, "ok, I'm done". Just a ploy to lure readers in to sell more sequels. I won't be buying the next book in the series.

Overall rating: 4.3

This book picks up beautifully from book 3. The storyline flows well allowing for a break or two while reading. The characters still find themselves with uncertain futures. The cliffhanger is done tastefully. I am looking forward to book 5 to hopefully solve some of the mysteries.

War of the Dragons, as good as the first three books in the series were, this one is better, leaving you thirsting for more. A fast-paced story with characters well-developed over the course of three books in a well-developed setting. Enough said, no spoilers from me, be sure to read the book. I have to wait until December for the next book?

This series is good, but it would be better if books were longer and have more descriptions.
War is coming, secrets are unrevealed and no one knows what will happen. New alliances need to be made, but with which community?
Check it out in this book. Interested, but it needs more deep in it.

Rowen has lots of new responsibilities because she’s queen that she couldn’t begin to imagine. Wonderful magic, and fantasy story to help you keep warm on a cold night. Received an ARC and fell in love.

Great story line

I have liked this Series so far, however I feel like the books are becoming more rushed and shorter, there are noticeably more spelling and grammatical errors in this book than the last, this can be distracting from the story line.
