This is book 9 in the Chocolate Centered Cozy Mystery Series. The main mystery is solved in each book, but the series is best enjoyed when read in order.
Somehow I got way behind on this series. It took me a bit to get reacquainted with the characters. I thought for a bit I might have to go back and start from the beginning. I still might re-read at least book one. This one really kept me guessing. There was more than one person who I thought was capable of murder. In the end I was close but had picked the wrong suspect. Looking forward to finishing the rest of the books I missed.
Ally Sweet of Blue River, now owns Charlotte's Chocolate Heaven. Her Grandmother Charlotte still comes in a few days a week to help making chocolate candy and souffles. She lives in Feely Lakes Retirement Community.
They plan a day to go flying in a small plane to watch someone go sky diving. Ally is really nervous to fly in such small plane' but her Grandmother assured her it's safe. And a man Austin Walker goes in the plane also & he says he's n experienced sky diver.
Well he jumps out but his shoots never opened. His cords were cut. Now it's a murder investigation
Ally & Charlotte to investigate Austin's death.
Ally's boyfriend Luke is a police Detective on the Blue River force. But he's assigned to another case. Another small town is doing the investigation because Austin's body landed in their borders.
There is so much more to this story. You won't want to put it down. There is a good deal of action and danger. And so many suspects. Hope you like book as much as I do!
Definitely a lot of twists and turns in this book, but sometimes felt like it was reaching for me. I always enjoy Ally and Charlotte's adventures, but this one just felt off. But I really enjoyed finding out about the mystery itself as it unwound as to who the killer was and how it played out. But some of the adventures it took to get there were a bit much. I generally love Cindy's stories, but this one not as much. But I do look forward to reading her next and hope that you will give this book a try! What does not work for me may be just what you are looking for! :)
Charlotte and Ally get on a small plans when Charlotte is trying to get Ally to skydive. Ally has a bad feeling about and says she will go up but not jump. They know the local farmer/pilot. A man named Austin is on the plane to jump, saying he had made jumps all over the world. He jumped, but neither chute opened. Charlotte and Ally liked him, and so begins their investigation. Terrific story. Great series.
This is a well written story that has Allie and Charlotte trying to find a killer. After seeing a skydive fall to his death, they are ready to start looking for the killer. A really good story that will keep the reader turning the page as they find themselves in trouble more than once. I loved this and finished the story in one sitting.
As Good as a Box of Ally’s & Charlotte’s Chocolates!
Wow, this story is filled with twist after twist! Ally & her Grandma Charlotte find themselves immersed in intrigue & suspense after witnessing a terrible accident, or was it murder? Ally especially finds herself in quite a few dangerous situations before the gutsy & determined duo find answers to their questions.
Charlotte talks Ally into riding in a plane that does skydiving rides and lessons. They meet Austin an experienced skydiver who jumps and his chute doesn't open falling to his death and traumatizing the girls. They want to know why he died, his chute cords were cut on his main and reserve chutes. Ally gets chased on a motorcycle, someone wants her dead this time.
Very good mystery. I always like your characters. It's nice to see them in another book. Their lives move on. Hopefully you'll include them in your next book. You had me guessing till the end. Thanks for entertaining me. Stay well and keep writing.
Who would have guessed that taking plane ride would lead to a murder investigation. Alley and Charlotte go on an.adventure to find not one but two hitmen hired to kill the same person. Is there more than one mystery to be solved?
I really enjoy the plot and characters. The cat and pig help the humans get out of the right spots their humans get into. Looking forward to the next book.
Ally and Charlotte seem particularly annoying this time. Neither carries a weapon, so chasing a killer right after he almost kills Ally and her geriatric partner ends up hospitalized is ridiculous. The men in their lives are ineffectual. Two crooks arrive at the same solution...also ridiculous. The ending was abrupt, and the characters with the most sense are a cat and a pig.
