I enjoyed this story. It was well written and picks up pretty close to where the first book ended. While this book has the same characters it is a different case so it could be read as a standalone. I recommend having read the previous book so that you can understand some of the interactions between Viviana and Jax. They have a bit of a history that they are trying to work through and the fact that they are both lone wolves doesn't help the situation. This book does deal with the hard topic of rape and child pornography. If this is a trigger for you then you may want to avoid it. I think that it was handled the right way and of course it is always good when the bad guys are caught. While the case is wrapped up at the end of this book there are still some unfinished topics that will be brought into the next book. The sex is explicit and if you've read any of Taylor Lee's books before than you know what you are getting into. Her heroines are kick butt women and her heroes are majorly alpha/dominant men that can handle the strong women that are their counterpart. This story is not as high action as some of the others but it had plenty of intrigue and other things going on to hold your attention the whole time.

Sizzling 🔥🔥🔥

True to fashion Taylor Lee has written another sizzling and suspenseful winner where the world is rid of more evil. Viviania is at it again with her loner investigative ways leaving her commander, partner and of course her lover and boss Jax in the dark. When a young girl they saved from a sex ring leaves the safety of the shelter and goes back to the streets, Vivi stumbles into an even more horrific case than the one they just solved. With Vivi and Jax's history, they are still working through some difficult areas of their relationship but will Vivi push Jax too far with her secrecy an non truths. When Vivi realizes the true danger she is in she regrets not letting Jax and her team in but it may be too late. Jax gets a little insight into Vivi's past but not the whole of it but knows he can't survive without his prickly princess. This is a great book that deals with child sexual abuse and is written in a way that to expose the evil and get justice not promote it. The book is about the feisty heroin and alpha hero's that take down these criminals. Love Taylor Lee books and can't wait for the next book Betrayed!!!

It is best if you read Exposed and then Forbidden before reading this third book in the series. Jaxton Hughes is being promoted to SJ Police Chief. He has brought his friend from some of his past missions, Greg Bannon to take his place and hopefully keep track of Sergeant Viviana Moreau. Jaxton and Viviana still have that love/no trust relationship that makes their love life Hot, Hot Hot. Viviana is on a child pornography case that she will not let anyone on. The only person who has an idea of what she is doing is Francis, and he keeps urging her to let Jaxton in on what she is doing.

This was another exciting and thrilling book in the series. Viviana has a reason for being the way she is, but won’t share it with Jax. She can be frustrating at times even to me! It is wonderful how all her peers love her, even if she keeps them in the dark. This is one of those books you don’t want to put down until you finish. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.

LOVED this book! Another winner in the Criminal Affairs series! In this novel, the author ramps up the spice and the angst as the Enchantress once more investigates a case by herself, not only not sharing it with her partner or supervisor, but lying to them about it. The only one that has any insight into her investigation is the friendly bartender, but he is sworn to secrecy.

Viviana (the Enchantress) and Jax (the police chief) continue to battle each other for control, both in the bedroom and at work, but this time Viviana may have pushed him too far... add in that this case may make her face things she'd rather not, and you have all the components for a great romantic suspense.

I give this 4.5 stars for a phenomenal read, but took off half a star for the repetition of how hot Viviana is and how alpha Jax is. This is well worth the read and should be at the top of the TBR list of every fan of the genre. While it is part of a series, this is a stand alone novel. However, it's so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all.

A good storyline and the continuation of Jax and Viviana's romance. You do not have to read the previous books to enjoy this one, but I think the foundation built via the other books only serves to enhance this one. Jax and Viviana are as hot as usual. They genuinely seem to both like and love each other in spite of their control issues.


The subject matter of this storyline includes child pornography, prostitution, and a pornography ring, among other things. If they make you uncomfortable, you might want to try one of the other books.

There is something about the dialogue between characters in this series that I find interesting. I don't know exactly how to describe it. It is not flowery, but there is something to the way conversations flow between the characters. Maybe it is the cadence of the conversations. I really enjoy it.

It did seem as though in this book, both Jax and Viviana were a bit over the top. She spent a lot of time being out of control and he spent too much time trying to control her.

Awesome contemporary law enforcement romance. Viviana is well known to her police department. She has no problem taking down the lowest form of criminal and for this book it's those dealing in child pornography and torture. There could be triggers in this book. What I enjoy most about Ms. Taylor's books is that she has strong women who work in a man's world. She allows them to show their softer side sometimes in little interactions but only to their close friends or lovers. I didn't have the opportunity to read book one but it too sounds exciting. This book can stand on its own. Max is now the Police Chief and has brought in one of his best friends and fellow black ops buddies to help keep Viviana safe and in control. Unfortunately, she goes off on her own again against powerful foes who insist she be dealt with immediately. She doesn't see it coming and Jax and friends want to help. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by this author.

The story of Viviana Moreau & Jaxton Hughes continues with this book. We see their relationship grow as they work through their struggles & challenges. The story is written so it can be read on its own, but you really get the full impact of their interactions if you read the previous stories.

We learn that Vivi has a past that affects her view of not only her job but her relationship with Jax. The details of that past are not yet revealed, but it gives more context to Vivi’s actions. We also see Jax gain more perspective about his actions & feelings for Vivi.

Taylor Lee writes stories with suspense, sometimes with a twist, a bit of angst, & a touch of heartache. The love is never easy but always well worth it. I highly recommend this and all of Ms. Lee's stories.

Sergeant Viviana Moreau and the rest of the San Jose Violent Crimes Unit are being lauded over solving a particularly nasty case involving many of the so called leading citizens of the city.
Chief Jaxton Hughes has just been promoted again. This gives him one big added benefit. It means he is no longer Viviana's direct boss. It doesn't however mean he will stop trying to control her.
Our heroine is doing as she always does, working a case on her own. The danger this time could be deadly. Our hero is also doing as he usually does, being an arrogant bully all in the name of love.
This has quite a lot of upsetting scenes because of the case she is on.
I must admit I could never cope with a man like our hero, but then I would never be as brave as our heroine either.
An exciting book that should be read in series order, because of the relationship between our hero and heroine.

I don't know how she does it...but Taylor Lee has managed to write another blockbuster; Seized, book 2 in the Criminal Affairs collection.
Viviana is absolutely out of control and impossible to handle in Seized. Even Jax, the stunning and patient Police Chief, has brought in his best friend to help manage the beautiful Enchantress. When she nearly gets herself killed, Jax has had enough! The lengths that he will go to to control Viviana are severe, but well deserved; but are they enough...
Seized is fast-paced, sexy, panty-melting good!

Repetitive and stupid

Another book for the character Vivianna who works as a police officer, doesn’t share information, is disrespectful to her boss and her lover and quire frankly is a horrible character. Not impressed.
