Finding himself suddenly homeless, Luc Devon answers Marcus James' ad for a live in secretary. He's desperate to keep from returning to Iowa, and his luck turns for the better when Marcus hires him, offering room and board with the job.
Marcus James is a man of many secrets, but as Luc works with him, he decides one of Marcus' secrets is something that he wants to share. Can Luc accept his own true nature and allow Marcus to be his teacher? And can Luc stay with Marcus when the truth comes out?
Make book about BDSM and add vampire, that would attract readers. I forgot you would earn bonus points if both main characters were male. Luc got job as a secretary for utterly decadent and filthy rich man named Marcus. Luc was pretty boy and that was probably only qualification for the job, he was also hidden masochist which he later discovered by act of voyeurism. Frankly Marcus from time to time had SM parties with his friends and found out that Luc was staring so he gave him nice spanking and it got Luc off. To kill all sanity by the author is proud Marcus statement that he was vampire. Fang and sucking scene included. Only merit of this short story that it is very very short.
I think the book was just too short to fit in all the plot twists it wanted to. Luc works for Marcus, living in the same mansion. He is warned by Marcus to remain in his room one weekend, and in a quick errand, Luc finds himself in the midst of a BDSM party. This opens the door for Marcus to bring Luc's submissive side to the surface. Luc is very willing, and this could have been an interesting exploration. However, there should be a warning that the only real scene in the book involves a Master and his GIRL. The plot twist at the end seems forced, as there is absolutely no time to go into it further, and just took up pages that could have been used to see how Luc and Marcus meld together.
There really wasn't enough substance or character development enough to keep my interest. The s/m scenes weren't even really that hot - except those done by Marcus' guests, whom we never really got to know.
Classic-cliche-vampire-Dom-gentleman. Too short to make a big impact. I'm not sure it's a romance. Put the tag anyway but I reserve myself the right to change it.
