Imagine a wishing well, a special well, one that only shows werewolves their true mates…
Joshua Silver hasn’t had much luck with relationships in the past, and the death of his parents in a fire at their bakery put a stop to his dating life. At the urging of his pack leader, he visits the well in the hopes of pulling himself out of his depression. What he doesn’t know is this: he’s already locked eyes with his mate.
Blake Sanderson is a punk. An alpha wolf with no responsibilities. He smokes, loiters, and vandalizes. Watching the world from the street corners, he thinks he’s immune to trouble. All that changes when he crosses a feral wolf who will do anything to put him down. And now there’s this omega named Josh, carrying the weight of the world in his eyes, telling him they’re supposed to be mates…
What will they do when the feral wolf comes after Josh…who just might be pregnant?
In this 100,000-word shapeshifter mpreg gay romance novel, two mens’ lives collide in the blowing winds of fate. This gripping, emotional story contains strong language and sex between two wild, passionate men – adults only.
The start is a bit boring....uhm let's hope it gets better.. ---------- I had huge problems in rating this book, bcs I found the first part really boring and almost dropped it, the central part was getting interesting but still moved way too slow and with too much descriptions, deep thoughts and no action, and the last pages were ok. In the end I decided for 3 stars.
Blake, the Alpha, was a jerk for almost 95% of the story. He was immature, acting like a 16 years old boy, when he was 25. He avoided responsabilities, called himself a punk and went around vandalizing things and places to pass the time with his "gang" of idiots, he smoke crappy cigars bcs he thought they gave him attitude and didn't have respect for any other person than himself. He thought he was better than the others and tried to mask his insecurities with fake bravado. He didn't want a family or kids, but didn't have a problem in having sex with Josh without a condom. In short, he didn't think much and acted too soon. Joshua or Josh, was a bit too submissive at start, always glad to do what Blake asked him, and proposing to be a "toy" if he just wanted some fun...pratically was an Omega without a personality. I know he was depressed after the dead of his parents and felt alone, but he should have used a bit more of respect for himself and not asking to be "used" like a thing. Blake never abused him, and this is the thing that saved the book, but still I wasn't a fan of how their relationship started.
There was some angst, thanks to a villain who seemed to be focusing on them, idk why nor I cared to understand. But all is fixed soon and didn't have a big importance in the story. At least not for me. The plot revolved more around Josh's depression and Blake's attitude, and I think it needed more feelings. The last part with the birth of their baby girl and the wedding were ok, but too rushed. Idk if I'll keep reading this series, maybe I will...idk....
Holy words. The dialogue was sparse and it made the reading a real slog. Not to mention the chapters were super long and tough to get through. I really wanted to like the mcs but they were super unlikable and boring to read.
I really struggled reading this book and i can't really say why... the book was kind of boring, i didn't feel anything for the character other than annoyance and i don't know, it just didn't work for me sorry... i want to try the second book (actually i read the first because i wanted to read the second one) but now i am a little afraid to be disappointed ...
No instant need to mate, no heats, the pack wasn't really a pack, and they lived amongst humans side by side. I kind of lost interest around 60% and started skipping just to see how it ended.
Set in a world where shape shifting wolves live hidden among the human population and male omegas can get pregnant. Joshua, an Omega wolf, has just been going day to day since the sudden death of his parents 2 years ago. Ryan, his pack leader, is worried about him and tells him of a wishing well that is rumored to show you your True Mate. Feeling that he needs something to help him start living his life again Josh goes to the well. Blake, an Alpha wolf, is rebellious and spends his days with his little "gang" vandalizing things, stealing and getting into fights. He's quite happy to live as a punk until he is attacked by a feral Alpha and gets arrested. His carefree life takes a turn for the worse.
Josh sees his True Mate in the Well and realises he has seen him before. He then hunts him down. The two men are brought together and the relationship is forced. Nothing is easy for them. There is no insta-love, not even insta-lust, just Josh's will for he and Blake to be together.
The story is long, but not overly so. There are a lot of things these two have to deal with before reaching their happy family. I'm hoping Ryan and Fox will get their own stories.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author but it definitely won’t be my last.
Since losing his parents, Josh has become depressed and lonely. He needs a purpose so he follows his alpha’s advice and goes looking for his mate.
Blake doesn’t look any further than his vandalistic ways. He doesn’t want or need anyone but fate has different things in mind. When Josh saves him; he finds himself drawn and attracted to the omega but he only plans to screw him and send him packing. If only it were that easy!
Josh and Blake were lost but together their heal each other. The author captured the characters insecurities really well.
The story was emotional, steamy with a hint of danger to keep things interesting.
For some reason that I can't put my finger on I struggled with this book. It took me awhile to get into it and the first half is something of a blur. We were never told why Blake was so anti-establishment and never giving much about his past or his parents. Josh was just lost and didn't know what to do with himself. Now the second half I really enjoyed. Blake and Josh together was a surprising delight seeing that they were polar opposites. First Half -1 star Second Half - 5 stars Total - 3 stars
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Another winner by Preston following Josh and Blake as they fight against their own demons to find love. Tragedy has made Josh a shadow of the man he was, looking to find a way to get his life back he takes an unusual path. Blake wants nothing to do with the so called normal, striking out and trying to find his own way making decisions that ultimately cause suffering to the most important person to him. Hot scenes as they build a relationship between each other and cross hurdles that help to cement the bond.
This romance is a cut above the rest. The characters’ journey towards love and a life together has both of them overcoming personal challenges that have real substance, yet it’s a heartwarming HEA book. Having read most of the Kindle Unlimited mpreg books, I was expecting more of the same (enjoyable, predictable fluff), but there’s just so much more to this story (sorry about being so vague, but I really want to avoid spoilers). Very highly recommended.
I ended up a bit ambivalent about this book. I didn't particularly like Blake and didn't understand his desire to kick against the pricks in his mid-20s as if he were still 16. I definitely related more to Josh in pretty much all ways.
I also found this book to be rather long winded. There were several times that I thought that things were gearing up to end, and yet it just kept going.
I'm definitely curious enough about the next books through their blurbs that I plan on reading them, but this book itself wasn’t that great.
A sweet and endearing story. Two men going down lonely paths due to life circumstances find each other.
Josh lost his parents two years ago and is in deep depression. His pack leader tells him to go visit this secret well to find his true mate. He sees Blake and doesn't know that by finding him he's also going to be helping both of them.
Wow, it took me a while, but I’ve got other things going on so it’s not the books fault. There are a few places that drag, when you just want to get to the point, but through it all you still have to root for Blake and Josh. I feel that Blake’s character should have been better explored especially since he didn’t “work” per say...who knows! On to the next book “Friends to Lovers” because I’m all about the Mpreg! Recommended
Despite the gay nature of this book, it managed to have some problematic moments, like when Blake was saying how ‘gay’ people were acting, or saying ‘not to be so gay.’
Despite this, it also had some moments that were very anti-homophobic, so I guess it was a little all over the board.
Overall, this book was sweet, though a bit confusing. In the beginning, Blake was kind of an asshole, but I definitely warmed to him.
MM Shifters, Alpha/ Omega. Josh and Blake both gave up on a real life but in very different ways. When they meet, Josh is ready to heal and move on, but Blake is still in denial. Both have very different personalities. It is interesting to watch them make decisions and grow together and as individuals. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

This book was really a good read. Both characters were a little immature...one not wanting a real job and the other just getting lost in his grief and depression. You kinda see them both grow up throughout the book. They stumble throughout, but they keep moving forward together and growing up emotionally and mentally.
This was a really good read that looked at the effect of loss on someone prone to depression anyway. The blurb is a good hook but didn't really represent the majority of the book.
When the lose of family becomes too much and it feels like it will never be the same, Josh goes to a wishing well to find his mate. Finding him and convincing him that they are mates becomes a whole new trial and journey for both. Well written and enjoyed very much.
This was an unexpected emotional read. There was a lot of thought and care for the depression one MC suffered. Both MCs were likable and the novel made room for other stories to be told in their own books. I can’t wait!
this was wonderful.. so sweet.. so amazing.. so many emotions and feelings wrapped into this.. and the writing is superb.. this is one of my favorites by this author.. i loved it so much
We meet two characters that are total opposite but are drawn to one another. Blake is leader to group of misfits and does all to cause problems. When he meets Josh things slowly start to change and can Blake be the Alpha that Josh needs in his life. This is emotional ride of a story that you will enjoy and must add to your TBR
... typical... omegaverse story... instalove or mates destiny? the opposites attract? Or simply... really the story fulfilled its mission, I read it and I would wait for more?
