Family Secrets #4

The Carpenter's Destiny

Rate this book
Dean and Mikael’s love has all the makings of a storybook romance. If only their deepening devotion wasn’t peppered with druids, werewolves and impending war.

The peaceful and steady rural life Dean had only dreamed of has been disrupted by the usual suspects in any serious romance, and is only intensified by their mystical and inherently dangerous nature. Despite the weightiness of their “in-laws” and their issues, Dean and Mikael’s relationship climbs to new heights and, in this committed intimacy, a passion, beyond that which can be imagined emerges. Meanwhile, evil forces gather once again, threatening the already tenuous hold Mikael and Dean have on their domestic bliss. The couple cling to a sense of normality only found with one another as they await the ensuing tides of war that creep closer with every passing moment.

But there’s also exploration and magic outside of Dean’s deepening fidelity to Mikael. His newfound lineage connects him more deeply to the pack and to the natural realms. As he explores the reach of his latent abilities with a mysterious shaman, he finds his value to the pack is more than simply as an accessory to its heir. He also begins to realize that his best interest might not naturally align with theirs. Fortifying his defenses includes shielding his lover and partner, as well as himself, as they seek a conclusion in which their love emerges in one piece.

The Carpenter’s Destiny is the latest novel in a gay romance series. Balancing primal sex scenes and the sweetness of evolving commitment, this story stretches the boundaries of what even the heartiest of love stories can hold. When true evil threatens his dreams, how deep into the darkness will Dean venture to hold onto the true bright flame in his life?

Alpha Mikael and Druid Dean get busier !
With a Noah Harris tale and his enticing plot, we are spellbound. For our guys story, farmer Dean and Alpha and Carpenter, Mikael, “me-kell” give us thrills,

sexy times and an evil bad man. Dean is discovering his Druid nature, and meets a Shaman he could learn from. Talon has never met a Druid, but is willing to try to help Dean. Their mating/claim is locked in place. The whispers of war are getting louder, and Damien attacks, being more despicable than imagined.
Dean is beaten horribly,

and used to draw Mikael to his pain. Damien’s plan was even more devious than that !
Dean must recover before they can search, plus he has Talon’s ancient book to translate.

I’m hooked on this series, so I’m on to the next events. Enjoy !

“The Carpenter’s Destiny”, Book 4 by Noah Harris is a must read in his series “The Family Secrets”. Noah brings the loving couple, Mikael and Dean into their next level as loving partners and Mikael’s family and pack couldn’t be happier. Though with Apollo living with them they have had to curb their spontaneous loving making where ever they happened to be, but they have managed when it meant Apollo could heal from the loss of his beloved sister from book 3.

It’s the cold weather of winter and Dean likes to spend his time in the greenhouse that Mikael had researched and built for his beloved just because it made Dean happy, plus he could work on his new power of being a druid. But even with the mountain of books Dean’s been reading, he still couldn’t find anything to help him hone his so called powers or even what entailed being a druid.

In the meanwhile, Alpha Damian from book 3 is still looking to cause hardship to Mikael’s pack and other packs as well. His cowardice acts and Damian’s evil mind, the SOB lives to create trouble. And more so now that he knows what Dean is. This has Samuel calling Mikael and Dean back to the pack for a meeting, as well as the good news of the couple’s commitment.

Later Noah Harris brings in the action with one of Mikael’s siblings being found in a coma with a mysterious tube and a book written in a rare language of symbols. Then there are kidnappings, abuse, and attacks on Mikael’s pack along with the twists and turns that kept me intensely engaged in reading. Noah’s writing kept me under a spell until the very end.

Noah leaves us with the thoughts about Damian’s plans and wanting Noah’s next book to come out quickly.

I know I’ve said this many times, but the book kept me engaged that I couldn’t put the book down. I am in love with Dean and Mikael’s characters and I can’t wait for Book 5. If you love wolf shifter stories with mystery and true mates, I would highly recommend reading this series. I know you would love the series as much as I am and I’m not just saying that because I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book & I am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.

I really enjoyed The Carpenter's Destiny by Noah Harris. It is the fourth book in the Family Secrets series. It was a great addition to the series, and some of my questions from the previous book were answered, but in true Noah fashion, I now have more questions that I will have to wait until the next book in the series to have answered. Overall, not a book to miss if you are invested in the series. I can't wait to see how it all ends. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Summary:
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Dean and Mikeal's life together is going along quietly until they get a summons to return to the pack. Dean continues to learn as much as he can about being a Druid, but without someone to help him it is difficult. Their return to the pack is met with happiness as they are now officially mated. They quickly learn that their old foe has returned leaving increased few and danger in its wake. Dean is introduced to another packs shaman who is willing to teach him what he knows, but tragedy strikes placing Dean and the pack in more danger than ever. Their hope to survive remains between their strength and the abilities that Dean has yet to learn.

This was an incredible fast paced paranormal story revolving around a beautiful love story. Dean and Mikeal's love for each other becomes more and more apparent when the obstacles placed in their path only strengthen their feelings for each other.

Taking the drama to a new level.

The fourth part in the epic Family Secrets series, from Noah Harris, does NOT disappoint. It starts gently, lulling the reader into a false sense of security as Dean and Mikael are enjoying domestic bliss, despite Apollo still living with them. Then strange things happen and they are called back to The Grove once more. Their love and their relationship has stepped up a notch and the wolf pack knows all about it. Cue celebrations? But then fate intervenes in the form of old adversary Damian, and the action ratchets up, just as Dean tries to get to grips with what being a Druid is all about, with the help of a shaman. Will it be war? As with the previous three books this is hot and there is some violence but none of it is gratuitous and it adds wonderfully to a deep and emotional story. I love Dean and Mikael, they are such deeply developed, characters; Noah always manages to deliver their storylines in an emotionally charged way, full of such amazing energy. Theirs is a journey I’m totally invested in. The ending is a HFN for Dean and Mikael but there are unresolved plot lines so book five is going to be on my must read list! Note, I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Samuel, why can't you let Dean and Mikael have a peaceful winter on the farm?
October 27, 2017
Format: Kindle Edition
Another suspenseful read in this series, with heroes Dean and Mikael returning to The Grove to rejoin the planning and preparation for resumption of a shifter war. I love the pair's quiet and peaceful interlaced with steamy times at Dean's homestead, but a strange and disquieting incident crops up even there as winter settles over the farm. Dean exhibits great courage and devotion to the family and friends he acquired in The Grove through his partnership with Mikael, and acquires a new friend in Talon, the shaman from a friendly shifter pack. I felt the story lagged a bit in the middle, as Dean discusses shaman versus druid in Talon's efforts to help Dean develop his unharnessed powers to aid in the shifter fight. I would have been just as happy with less philosophizing and a shorter book. The pace picked up then for a thrilling last 1/3 of the story. Be advised that this book is more of a cliffhanger than the previous and things are left pretty much up in the air in expectation of a sequel.

I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author; this is my voluntary and honest review.

This as the others in the series was brutally intense, violent and bloody However, the love of Dean and Mikael keeps the reader going as you edge closer and closer to the edge of your seat. This time around Mikael and Dean are bound together and then they are called to "The Grove." Mikael's father Samuel uses Dean as bait and loses a gamble. Damien the enemy has plans and no one can guess what he is up to. Evil swirls around and is connected to the enemy, but how? several kidnappings, serious injuries, a book and evil scroll hidden in a bag, and losing a teacher for learning how to be a druid. Questions that are left until the next book as Mikael and Dean go home so Dean can rest and recoup. A cliffhanger? Sure and it will entice me to pick up the next book as we try to follow Dean and Mikeal's journey into the darkness. I simply can't wait. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC Book

Dean

3.5 stars.
This book, again, just has a lot of filler in it. A lot of it is mundane things with Dean and Mikael being back at the farm after learning Dean is a druid. We don't really get to know what that actually means nor do we get to know what kind of power Dean posses. It seems that not even any of the characters in the book know either. It is obviously something we won't find out until later. Like the previous book, nothing really happens until the last 20% of the book. Then a lot of stuff goes down but not really. What I mean by that is, we are not shown much action but rather told about it. Which doesn't have the same affect to me as a reader.
I do like the series but I wish there was more in each book then we are getting. It's starting to fill like it's just being dragged out.

I love this series more and more with each installment! I fear for the shamans who were taken, and it makes me wonder if it was Nox who was using Damian (at least at first) or if Damian created Nox to be what he became just like I think he’s doing to Talon and his fellows who are “lost in shadow”. It will be fascinating to see Dean learn to come into his own power, and hopefully, help to recover and heal those who have been taken by Damian.

Noah can’t write these books fast enough to satisfy my craving for more, but (at the same time) I feel like I never want him to stop writing in this world because I love Mikael, Dean, the Williams’, and all of the pack in the The Grove so much!

That saga continues at a fast pace .

When Dean and Mikael return to The Grove a disaster occurs….

A Shaman and a Druid ( dean ).

Violence occurs on Mikael’s pack when they return to The Grove .

Dean and Mikael are becoming as one Mikael has given Dean the bite and in book 4 will know how much closer they have become in all ways..

These books draw you in completely extremely well written and the story flows…

When Mikael shifts the closeness between himself and Dean is written with much love ..

One day Dean and Mikael will ( I hope ) have a peaceful life together on the farm .

Dean and Mikael’s story just keeps getting better. The intrigue continues to build even as we get some of our questions answered. I think the characters’ personalities come out the best in this one and not just for Dean and Mikael. I am so hooked into this story and can’t wait to see what comes next. Between werewolves, druids, and shaman we get a more detailed look at this great world Noah Harris has created. This is a series you can easily get hooked into and be happy with the journey.

Another hit in this wonderful series by Noah Harris. Love the ongoing story of Dean and Mikael. They are both such great characters and they have been through so much together. Their love is so strong that they make it through together. I love watching their relationship grow and get stronger and stronger from book to book. This story will keep you glued to its pages from beginning to end. A MUST READ!!

Full of action

This book had more action than spice but there was enough to keep the story spicy. Noah definitely is setting the reader up for a big conflict but we’re still not exactly sure where it’s going.

Still waiting for the foreshadowing in earlier books to be realized. This book wasn’t as full as other but there are some subtle events that I believe could be deepening the foreshadowing of the a conflict to come.

This author's books ( overall) are getting better and better! Love this pair- can't wait till the next book. When I got to the end I was really disappointed that it stopped there- definitely not a stand-alone book. But the character and world building are great, and really keep you there. And did I mention very good editing, which can make or break even an excellent story.
Go Noah!

OMG!!!

Noah Harris does it again. Full immersed me in the world of Mikael and Dean! Finished book three yesterday and couldn’t put this one down until I was done!

You also get to see more sides to some of the support characters.

So many answered questions... but some many new ones come to mind!

I was a wonderful read. Can’t wait for the next installment!

Only one thing missing.

This is only my opinion but I thoroughly prefer and love m-preg stories. I still love all concepts too. Each of the authors great a version of that is unique and wonderful. So excellent series. Full of love, sex, family and shock and terror. I am onto the next book with excitement as I love all the characters.

Wow, Dean and Mikael seem to be going through a rough time right now. I hope it ends soon and they get to have a peaceful time and not just a few weeks. Lucille has to get better and hopefully will be able to help with the fight against Damian.

Healing from an abduction .

I read finished reading this book right after falling after a ladder . Let's just say Deans pain was so much worse than mine . I hope as time passes the pain and nightmares heal. I'm sure Mikeals love will go along way in the healing process.
