Omaha’s finest are baffled and the city is on edge following a rash of brutal murders of women, all killed in similar fashion. Local law enforcement believes a misogynistic killer is in their midst.
With little to go on, the central police department requests assistance from the Serial Crimes Unit of the FBI. Agents Jade Monroe and J.T. Harper are tasked to fly to Omaha and lend a hand.
Without any leads, the investigation stalls until a chance meeting between Jade and a stranger with memorable blue eyes turns the entire case on its ear. With the killer quickly losing patience, the investigation takes a turn for the worse. Not only are more of the city’s ladies being targeted, but now Jade Monroe is on the killer’s radar too.
C.M. Sutter was born in San Jose, California and split time between the sunny California coast and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a senior in high school, she chose Wisconsin as her permanent address. After many years in the Badger State, she decided on a warmer year-round climate to call home and moved south. Years of progression took her from working in large companies, to twelve years as a massage therapist, and finally, owning a corporation. She has been self-employed for over twenty years. Ms. Sutter has been writing and self-publishing since 2014 with eleven titles published in a different genre. Because of her deep interest in crime and thriller novels, she took up writing in the police procedural/crime thriller genre in 2016.
4 Stars. Another solid Jade Monroe mystery. This was the series finale. Not sure where Sutter will take her next. If you like police procedurals, these books are reliable and fun.
I have just finished the last of the 10 books in the Jade Monroe series and I must tell you I am truly going to miss her and JT and all the wonderful characters in these books. I can't wait for the new series to begin. Hopefully it will be as great as this one has been. You must read this series or you won't know what you've been missing.
Another classic. While reading expected happenings and having my blood pressure on the rise as the killer plans his next move feeling the relief when Jade and J T finally takes him down
I happened on C M. Sutter books ny happenstance. I had a couple of her books and enjoyed them. Then I looked further to see if she had more. I was surprised to find some of the Jade Monroe Detective series among some of the books in my library. That was IT!!! I DEVOUR her books! I just love her style of writing!!! I've been a fan of Stephen King, who got to macabre for me. Then I loved Dean Koontz, who now for me, has gotten too far out. I also enjoy Danielle Girard, Karin Slaughter and Cheryl Bradshaw. But, most of all, I cannot STOP reading C.M. Sutter books! She, for sure, has become, my all time favorite!!!
C. M. Sutter writes a great story--every time; in each of her books. Jade Monroe is a straightforward heroine who is tough as they come, but also empathetic to people who have been victimized by one of her bad ass bad guys. There is always a lot of carnage, and malicious actions by the perpetrators. Jade, and her partner, J.T., have a great rapport and complement each other. This story moves fast, and, as with other books in the series, show how the FBI works to solve cases. The books aren't overly long, and keep me engaged throughout. I recommend this series.
Made and J.T. head to Milwaukee on their first case since the kidnapping. Someone is killing women by stabbing in the throat. After three murders in as many days they still don't have any suspects. Knowing the person they are looking for has something to do with bad divorce and revenge from the ex-husband for taking his family. Any book hard to put down until the very end.
This five book detective series was a very enjoyable read. Following Jade and her partner J.T. through action packed investigations of serial killers kept me coming back for more. I wish I knew about Jade's previous series as a detective, keep up the entertaining and thrilling writing.
This was a fun one. JT and Jade back together solving cases in tandem with several other fine law personnel. This story was really good. I struggled to find the connection until that always present Aha! moment when things start to fall into place. Crazed serial killers always make that one mistake that gets them caught. Great series. Next....
This was the first series/books that I have read from this author. They weren’t terrible, just for some reason I’m not a big fan of this author, and something’s in the books just feel very outdated, like Jade calling JT “partner,” to me, it made it seem like they were in a western. Hopefully I’ll like the next series of this author more than I did now.
I love mysteries, but I hate it when you can figure the whole story out before the end of the third or fourth chapter. This was a great suspense that kept me guessing on how it all fit together until the very end. Great read!
I've read all 10 books!!! And I must say I truly loved them. C.M. SUTTER put me right in the scenes. All of the characters came alive. I would recommend the books to everyone.
People can take events and blame everyone but themselves. Others can pay for someone else's offences. It is all in the long days of an FBI agent. Jade and J. T. take it in stride and follow the clues. Great book!
Well, this book ends the series about Agent Jade Malone. C. M. Sutter could written many more exciting cases to be solved. Jade Monroe has become my new favorite investigator. This is another story about murder and revenge that moves very quickly.
C.M.Sutter has become one of my favorite authors! I love the different cases that they have to solve. Her and J.T. make a terrific pair. I can't wait to read the next series.
Good book, if you want action throughout. A great serial-killer novel. Can be a little wordy, which caused me to jump around till I pickup the juicy parts of the narrative. Insight into why doctors insist that people on psych drugs keep up with their meds. Guess what can happen, if you don't.
On the trial of an illusion cold blooded killer who strikes hard and fast. This last book will keep you reading late at night to know the results of another Jade Monroe manhunt.
This was a real page turner from start to finish Lot of twist in the story and another great mystery novel to keep you interested I would recommend this book to add to your collection
Advertised as last in series. I certainly hope not. Will read C. M. Sutter's other series as I enjoy the ones I have read so far. Hope Jade has more adventures in future.
The book moved fast and really kept you sitting on the edge of your seat. I found myself staying up late and not wanting to put the book down. Look forward to other books by her.
I hated the last one in this series but this one was better and about equal to the first three. I am liking the characters Made and J.T. Enough to carry on.
Best of this series. Characters are better defined and true to their development in earlier books of the series. Looking forward to more Agent Monroe FBI adventures.
