All is fair in love and hockey, right? WRONG. Being single is the only way to protect her heart, especially from sexy, bad boy hockey players who are a dime a dozen in the Canadian prairies. With a rash of disappearances in the area, heading home for Christmas is the only way to stay safe. University freshman, Carly Saint, has a chip on her shoulder and a past that’s off limits, but even the toughest woman can’t say no to Theo Montagne, the NHL’s rising star. She thought she knew everything about the famous hockey player from what she’d seen on TV. Except a chance encounter with the smoking hot centreman isn’t at all what she expected. When the blizzard of the century forces them to seek shelter to survive, she discovers how different he is from any man she’s ever met. Theo has certain naughty ideas of how they can spend their time in isolation, and Carly’s defensive game crumbles against the league’s top scorer. But when the snow tapers, their newly formed bond and lives will be put to the test. Each book in the Puck Battle series features a different couple and can be read as a standalone. HEA guaranteed. Join Theo and his fellow hockey players on their quest for love and the Stanley Cup.

The story of diner waitress Carley who gets stranded with hockey star Theo. This was an ok read. Quite short so not really long enough to sink your teeth into. It was quite sweet. I would have preferred a bit more banter with less poetry - that was a bit cringey. But it was a nice, short xmas read.

Is being stranded with a sexy hockey player really a bad thing?
I loved this story from the first page. It had its sad moments, super sweet and romantic moments, and definitely some steamy, sexy ones as well. It's not your usual sports romance book. It's way better. I loved that it was not only hockey related but also holiday related. It really had that tugging at the heart feel to it like great romantic books are known for doing, but also was so hot it would melt snow. If you like hockey and love romance around the holidays, then I highly suggest reading Carly's and Theo's story. I reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

we met Carly in the previous story as the young spunky coworker of Miranda. in this story Carly is working Xmas eve at the.diner b4 flying home for xmas. the next thing she knows is nhl-er hotshot Theo Montagne is in her diner asking her for a double espresso...jocks...go figure. Carly thinks Theo is sex-on-a-stick but won't give him the time of day. after her shift, she hits theo' s car with her butt n his car alarm goes off and when he teases her about getting him to notice her she gives him a piece of her mind. however when her truck don't start theo offers her a ride. unfortunately mother nature has a mind of her own...snow storm leaving them stranded in an empty house. Carly can't deny her attraction to the sexy player but she knows his kind and doesn't want to give in. Theo tries to show her that he is more than just hockey. passionate kisses leads to the thawing of carly's heart. but can a night of communication and smooches lead to anything long term? will Carly change het mind about Theo?

I haven’t read this author before. I was searching for a hockey romance and short of being told Theo was a hockey player and Carly hated hockey players there was no hockey.
It was a cute story. Insta love while hold up in a strangers house during a blizzard over Christmas. I just didn’t buy the relationship. Didn’t feel the connection between the characters. I know that’s hard to do in a short story.
Theo was an anomaly in the hockey world, a twenty year old pro athlete who isn’t into the “puck-bunnies”. But would instead be happy in a committed relationship.
Carly was a bit of a doormat. Between her parents, her two exes, her boss, she let everyone walk all over her.
Not a bad book. Lots of sexy times to pass the long wait for the storm to pass. Little drama, single POV.

This is book one in the Puck Battle Series and features hockey star Theo and Carly. Carly works one more shift at the diner before heading to the airport to catch her plane home. Theo comes in for a bite before heading home. Theo rescues her from two men that were bothering her and because of the bad weather they decide to ride together to the airport. When the weather got worse they were forced to take shelter in a nearby home. The chemistry heats up and their attraction is off the charts. It was a sweet, light romance with lots of promise. I voluntarily chose to review this book after reading an arc copy.

A good quick read. A snow storm is about to change the lives of two very different people. A cocky but sweet hockey player & a sassy, independent waitress/college student are stuck in a severe snowstorm on Christmas Eve & it’s the start of a new life for them. The chemistry is hot between them & it’s sweet to see Theo not wanting to rush things Carly when she thinks that’s he wants from her. The instant connection between them fans the flames & after not even a full day of knowing each other they both know things have definitely changed in their lives. It was a very sweet & sexy read. Well Done.....can’t wait to read more.

This book has such great potential. I love the rapidness of Theo and Carly falling in love in a situation that not a lot of people find themselves in.
There’s cute banter and sexy scenes, but my problem was that there were tiny plot holes that twitched at me. Maybe I’m just being picky, but I felt that some things were glanced over and creative license was taken advantage of.
I think with some fine tuning, this book could be a solid 4 for me. I would definitely give this author a second try, to see how her writing progresses, because this book had great potential.

Romantic and steamy

The characters are very well written. The romance part of the story was wonderful. The sexy parts got overly raunchy for a romance book in my opinion. I have read steamy sexy stories and before and have no problem with them. My issue is when I am looking for a romance with a little heat, and I get a romance with full on erotica in it, that's a bit over the line for me. I will give other stories by this author a chance...for this one though I'm left with mixed feelings.

Cute sports holiday romance

The was a cute and fast holiday romance story. Fast meaning everything happens within a few days: that first meeting, that first kiss, right up until the "I Love You". The story focused more on the characters outside of the sport and with almost no interaction with supporting characters.
This story is a great start for this series. I really enjoyed it.

I am kinda a sucker for hockey romance. However this one has a H that is a hockey player and is not centered around the game. So if you like your hockey romance with some of the game mixed in you might be disappointed. I like this kind of story even without the game of hockey involved. So if you are looking for a fun, sweet, sexy, short read you will not be disappointed. I read with KU.

A nice romantic Christmas story

I really enjoyed this book, it has a solid storyline and drags you in from page one. It's based around a famous, gorgeous, built hockey player and who wouldn't want one of them for Christmas? (Promise I've been good Santa!) It also boasts sex scenes that will have you panting, basically everything you want in a good romantic Christmas story.

Fun story

This is the first book of Kristen's I have read. I really enjoyed it. There was a good dose of humor along with some heated scenes in a well thought out & well edited story. There is nothing worse than reading a story that is full of mistakes. Thank you Kristen for make sure my time spent reading was not wasted!

Fook me!!! I’m not a massive sports reader despite being a massive football and Port Vale Fc supporter for too many years to mention.
I absolutely loved this book and read it in one sitting. My only complaint, it was nowhere near long enough. Now off to see what other players in the Puck series there are to entice me,lol

I liked it. The writer obviously has talent - the writing style was smooth but I did find the story to be a bit too far fetched, or maybe a little light on the development. Definitely potential though. Can't go wrong with hockey romance.

Too good to be true

Carly is a girl who has a distrust of hockey players, Theo is a hockey player. Lock the two of them in a snowed in house and something is about to give. Theo is the complete opposite of what a player is supposed to be, but boy is he sweet!

More of an instaread/instalove story that had the feeling of a one off instead of the start to a series. Fell a little short not really giving the reader a chance to meet a couple of the team players that would lead up to their own stories. Still, I'm willing to give the series a try.

This was a cute book for Christmas but this guy was a bit too perfect. I don't think the characters were well developed enough for me to continue the series.

A very good book. Good story and likeable characters. I would recommend it for a quick and easy read. Not over the top sex but enough to fit the story.
