Not your typical prostitute ... this is a story of unconditional love.

“I need a reason to exist.”

Beautiful, intelligent, independent, strong-willed, wealthy—Lilith Fontenot seems by all appearances, to have it all. But that’s not how the highest paid prostitute in New Orleans sees herself.

A stain on society. A scourge. A waste. Outsider. Prisoner…

Any idyllic dream of the normal life she may have once imagined, Lilith buried long ago. Her only plan now is survival.

But mob boss Nico Santelli and community center owner Soti Christos have not given up on Lilith. Each has his own very specific, very opposing, plans for her, and neither will rest until it becomes a reality.

LILITH is a singularly bracing take on an ancient tale of tireless love, betrayal, and the possibility of redemption.

It’s been a while since I’ve read a Willow Aster book, and I couldn’t wait to read this one! Her writing is so stunning and poetic. Whore was one of those books that captivated me from the start.

The title Whore describes the leading lady, Lilith. It’s her job, the family trade. It’s not what she wants to be, but it’s all she knows. She’s not a cheap whore, though. She’s expensive. She’s from New Orleans and lives in a house that’s been in her family for generations. She thinks this is all her life will ever be. Until she meets Soti.
“I think my whole life has been leading me to you.”

Soti… that man was near perfect. I adored him. He was swoony, sweet, and loved Lilith. I loved his big heart. As much as I liked Lilith, Soti stole the show for me. This story was so complex and had so many things I want to talk about, but I don’t want to spoil it for anyone! It had hella angst, made me angry at times, broke my heart at times, but by the end, I was content. My heart was happy again.

I love reading addictive stories, and that is the best word to describe this read. Addictive. I love book that can hook me from the start. The writing was phenomenal, the story was unique, and even though there were a few small things that didn’t jive with me, I still enjoyed it overall. If you’re a fan of angsty and suspenseful reads, I would recommend this one!

3.5 For Soti Stars

Lilith/Lili is a prostitute at her families brothel Maison D'amour in the french quarter of New Orleans. The brothel was started by her great-grandmother and passed down, her mother the queen bitch Madam now runs it.
No one plans to be a whore. Except maybe my mother. It certainly wasn't my life's dream as a little girl.

Nico is a former lover of Lili's, when she finds out he was marrying someone else she walked away from him. Now 2yrs later he's back and Lili knows he has something bad up his sleeve and insists she will not see him, unfortunately her mother has other plans.

 photo knife_zpsfniraumm.gif

Shit hits the fan the next time Nico visits, with someone being murdered and a huge fire only to end with Lili being arrested.

Soti a man Lili has seen only a few times around Bourbon Street, he sees the incident at the brothel on the local news and when he sees Lili who he is captivated by he knows he has to help her.

I can't really go further into the plot but I will say I loved Soti he is a whole lot of Alpha sweetness. That huge surprise/twist Soti spits out did throw me a little as it was totally unbelievable (in my opinion) and left me like......................

 photo what_zpssvmpca8y.gif

So for a book with a name like Whore it sure did skimp in the sex department or what sex there was was vague. Overall I enjoyed this but it had too many unbelievable/unrealistic parts also a few mistakes in the plot but nothing major. I think I was just a little disappointed I had high hopes for this one, maybe that was the problem. You read it and let me know what you think.

“I think my whole life has been leading me to you.”

description

This book was such a pleasant surprise. Having found out about this from another author, I was actually nervous to read it. There seems to be a lot of mixed opinions, with people saying they either loved it or hated it. For me, I most definitely enjoyed this story, especially after the halfway mark.

Short summary of the book: Whore is about Lilith. Her occupation: I think you can guess, right? She’s a prostitute forced to work in a whore house run by her own selfish and vindictive mother. Her ex Nico is in the mafia, and though they haven’t communicated in years, he’s still oddly infatuated with her. But there’s another unexpected man who comes into her life. Soti. I don’t want to say much about either man or what happens in the story, but I will say this took some unexpected turns and has some mystery woven in. And while there were some slow moments, the author would just drop in little unexpected bombs (one moment you think all is fine and then the next sentence, BAM!) that had me speed reading to see how it'd all turn out.

What I loved: I couldn’t put this damn book down. Though the writing is a little ... odd (I honestly can’t think of the word for it. It was sort of choppy, sort of simplistic? It also did that whole “telling not showing” thing most people hate but I don’t know why, it kind of worked here. At some points, it kind of reminded me of Tarryn Fisher's writing.) I NEEDED to know what was up with Lili’s mother and why Nico was doing what he was. I ADORED Soti. What a fucking man.

"I want to right every wrong that’s ever been done to you. Not because of obligation, but because my heart burns for you, Lili—you’ve given it a reason to start beating."

And his and Lili’s insta-lust-love-whatever actually kind of worked, too. I’m usually the first person to proclaim how much I hate insta-anything. But I swear to Christ their relationship was making me stupidly emotional.

"His lips are my redemption, laying claim on something in me that hasn’t been alive until now."

Maybe it was the way Soti so fiercely wanted to protect Lili. Maybe it was the way he just so easily went all in for her. Maybe it was the way they were just so sure about the other. Whatever it was, I was ALL about them together.

"Our bodies leave no room for doubt. She engraves her name on my heart; I know exactly when it happens. She leans back just long enough to look in my eyes, as if checking to see if this is real. What she sees there reassures her, and we both shake with the knowledge of it. Two lost souls, found."

My only two complaints: I wanted more backstory on Nico!! As the antagonist of the story, we really get so little on him, his motives, his personality, his background. I for one love getting inside the head of the bad guy. Especially those in the mob. I really think the book would have benefited from getting his POV or just more info on him. The author also heavily used time jumps to move the story forward, which I’m just personally not the biggest fan of.

But I have to say the ending of this made the book for me. I loved it. It started a little slow, and with little given in the blurb, I wasn't sure where this story would go. It turned out to be a really good read and I just love when you wind up devouring a book, not thinking you'd even really enjoy it.

"Our kiss feels like saltwater and sunshine and blood and pain and bliss, culminating in two hearts finally syncing up to the same heartbeat. Believing.
To believe in love is to accept it, to be sure of it.
I finally believe."

You know that moment when you read a book that everyone loves and raves about? That book that you're giddy with excitement to get your hands on? That book that you simply drooled over reading the synopsis? And then you end up the redheaded stepchild of the bunch because you're in the severe minority that the book just didn't work for?

This tells you two things automatically:
1. Clearly this is a me and not the book thing, based solely on my own reading preferences and tastes
2. Whore was a huge winner for SO many other readers, so take what I say with a grain of salt because odds are, you may not feel the same way.

I feel terrible because of just how much I struggled with this story. I've tried time and time again to come back to it and push myself through just one more chapter. Unfortunately after a while of doing this, you simply have to admit to yourself that you're on a fruitless endeavor and cut your losses.

I struggled with the writing style from the very beginning, and ultimately it's what caused me to stop trying. Clearly the writing style didn't click with my particular tastes. And that's nothing necessarily wrong with the book, or with me for that matter. Just that the two didn't click. I couldn't connect with the heroine for the life of me. I couldn't connect with the connection of her and the hero. It was too instant. Too out of the blue. Just too...out of my taste.

Sometimes you go to a great restaurant and you order a meal from a renowned chef and it just doesn't settle with your taste buds. You don't need to consume the entire meal to know it's not for you. Doesn't make the restaurant bad or the chef bad, just a case of that particular meal not doing it for you. That was exactly what happened with this book. I wish I loved it like the rest of my reading peers, but alas it just wasn't meant to be. To each their own and all that.

descriptionThe first 50% of this book was solid 5-Star material. Then halfway through a character pulled the biggest shit for brains move that overshadowed the entire second half. I was left going...seriously? You believe that of her knowing all you know about her life up until that point?? The threats made against her?? I also felt the second half of the book was rushed with too many jumps in time and a lot of over the top events.

That said, I still found myself pulled into the story. This is the first book I have read from this author but it won't be my last. She has a very captivating way of writing. I loved the setting of New Orleans. The pace was good for the first 50%. Like I mentioned above I found the second half to be rushed and I am not particularly a fan of time jumps in my books and the second half used this technique a lot. The plot was engaging and kept me turning the pages. It was full of feels and heartbreak but also hope and redemption. There were a few sex scenes but I wouldn't say it was overly spicey. There was a nice selection of secondary characters as well.

description

Both of the main characters were likable (mostly). For the first half of the book I ADORED Soti. He was sweet. He treated Lilith like gold. He wore his heart on his sleeve. Then the halfway point came and I have to say Soti lost some of his luster for me. He was too quick to think the worst of Lilith considering he knew about her previous life. The threats made against her, etc. I mean for heavens’ sake did he forget the damn car chase?? How do you claim to love someone from the ends of earth and back, but a SINGLE letter convinces you that it was all a lie??!! He seemed to be a somewhat intelligent man, so how could he not put two and two together? He gave up on her SO easily...sigh. Lilith I loved from beginning to the end. She was a strong heroine. She had to be with all the shit that kept getting thrown at her. Last, it was all wrapped up in a sweet ending that again was rushed for me. I would have liked more page space given to Soti and Lilith All in all though I enjoyed it quite a lot, so yours truly is giving this one two thumbs up.description

Whore started out amazing. Fast paced and intriguing characters. I ate the story up but close to the 50% mark I felt the story started to fizzle out and I lost interest. Nothing happened. It wasn’t until the 85% that the story started to pick up again. Lili was a great character who never gave up despite the cards she was dealt and the same can be said about the gorgeous and kind Soti. These two were incredible and I enjoyed their scenes together which delivered laughs, romance and heartbreak. Overall a great book.
Maybe my expectations were too high cause I’m left feeling a little disappointed.

I was intrigued by this book from the blurb. I loved that this was based on the biblical story of Hosea and Gomer. It's kind of like a modern version of one of my favorite books Redeeming Love. It started off really good. Lilith has been essentially raised by her mother to be a high end prostitute. She has never really been given the option to be anything else.

There are two men in her life. Her ex Nico is in the Mafia and a new man Soti who walks into her life. I won't go into details to avoid any spoilers but this book starts off with a lot of action and a series of events puts Lilith in an environment outside the watchful eye of her mother and where she is not seen as a whore. She meets people that show kindness without any expectations and this is a truly novel concept for her. Their goodness confuses her. She starts to believe that she could actually live this wonderful life.

However this life gets ripped away from her and the book takes a dark turn. There is quite a bit of suspense and it almost reads like a dark romance for a while. Now I will say that this story was certainly not boring. This was very action packed but I thought maybe too many things were happening and it was a bit too fast for me. I felt like there were pieces to the story that I didn't fully grasp and some parts just felt rushed.

So I will say I absolutely loved this plot. I also loved this hero. His love for Lilith was selfless and his commitment was unwavering. However, I just could not connect with these characters. For a while there about midway through the book I actually stopped caring if the H and h got together. The end I think definitely redeemed this book though. As the story wraps up we get a few plot twists and Lilith really turns out to be a badass who I had to respect.

So overall I would say to give this book a try. It was not as great as I was expecting but I promise you will be entertained!

DNF 58%. I wanted to love it, I just struggled with the writing, the characters, the pacing, and ultimately the instalove that carried this storyline. I couldn’t connect to the chemistry between the characters and didn’t believe the connection they had. I kind of blame my high expectations going in to the book. For some reason I expected a wickedly sexy love triangle. This isn’t that. At all. It’s totally different. I just couldn’t get into it.

4 STRONG STARS****

Ahhh what have I just read?? This was an addictive read to the T I was hooked from page one..

Lilith has been brought up and taught to be a whore, ahh can you imagine? But it’s the most elaborate kind, in an expensive hotel ‘as such’ so she wasn’t not looked after. Well not in the ways of luxury, but maybe she wasn’t cared for emotionally.. with her boss as her own mother Lilly was crafted to be the perfect ‘whore’ and that’s just the start..

Soti oh the man who is a man that helps his community, but also a slightly broken man that maybe just needs Lilith for the same reasons as she does him.. I loved how they bonded, how they connected and how love knows who’s heart they belong to even if the world isn’t on the same page yet..

 photo F571146B-DCD5-494D-B614-426BD3992A22_zpslc6cqww3.jpg”width=“400

And then there’s a nico and the mafia who has their own agenda..

That’s all I’m going to say on that matter, this read is a well crafted read that tangles in your heart. I felt connected to the main characters the more I read, and the more I read the more I wanted happiness for them..

Why not 5 stars you ask?
I loved everything about this read and it was addictive in the best way.. but I felt certain things were slightly rushed, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t good cause it was FANTASTIC. Do not underestimate that star, I just wanted maybe but please please read it.. if you love addictive reads, a mafia read and one that has a loving girl inside that just wants to live her own life then pick this up, you won’t regret it..

Enjoy Xoxo

Be sure to head to 5171 Miles Book Blog for the blog tour of Whore! While you're there, check out more reviews like this one.

If the title of this book doesn't grab your attention, the story inside surely will. Whore is one of the
most beautiful renditions of an unconditional love story I have ever read. If you're like me, the title might make you a tad nervous this story will be full of smut and dirty deeds. Let me ease your worries right now, dear readers, this story is anything but smut. Of course there are a few sexual instances, the main character is a prostitute after all, but there is so much more to this plot. You'll be missing out on an exceptional love story if you skip this one based off of preconceived notions.

The main character Lilith is a complicated and alluring figure. She was forced into prostitution by her mother at Maison D'amour, New Orleans' own high scale whore house. Lilith is ready get out from under her mother's controlling ways and become someone who isn't used every day of her life, but simply knows no other way of life. When her ex-boyfriend and current mafia member comes back into the picture after shattering her heart, Lilith gets wrangled into a scheme more elaborate than she knows. Enter Soti, all that is good and perfect in the world. When Lili becomes captivated by his charm and selflessness, she realizes how badly her life needs to change. Unfortunately, a whore doesn't deserve the honor of love, or so she thinks.

"I've never brought out the mush in someone. The sleaze, yes, but not the cheese."

I could not put this book down. The romance between Soti and Lili was exquisitely written. It tugged on my heartstrings in all the right ways. I simply could not get enough of these two. Willow wrote Soti to life as the perfect man, the one every woman needs to help her reach her full potential. I only wish there was MORE of him!

"I wish I could wander through your mind and heal every single bad memory."

Though this is classified as a Romance, there is so much more to this story. There is plenty of adventure, suspense, and mystery - giving readers one of the most versatile stories I've read in a long time. I especially loved the slight Biblical ties woven into the plot, creating an even more touching tale. Don't let this scare you off if that's not your thing, however. The subtle addition was done in a way to capture readers of all walks of life.

This was my first book by Willow Aster and will definitely not be my last. I'm experiencing a serious case of FOMO after reading Whore. I've missed out on five years of novels, which are sure to be as stunning as the story her latest release. I can't wait to spend the first part of next year catching up!

Naturally, I can't praise Whore or Willow Aster enough! You won't regret picking up this one upon its release December 26th.

This story is phenomenal! Gahhhhh. I could scream. I have not read a book that has consumed my life the way this book has stolen minutes, hours, and days from me. And guess what?! it was the best stolen time ever. I’m an avid reader. Always have been, always will be... BUT... books don’t keep me up till the wee hours of the morning, books don’t flip through page after page between customers at work. This book DID ALL OF THOSE THINGS! I could not walk away from this story. I couldn’t. I quite literally was sitting on the edge of my seat with this action packed heartache, romance, holy shit that did not just happen story.

I’m rambling. I swear I will come back once my thoughts are well put together.

I LOVEDD this book.

Willow Aster never ever disappoints. It’s been far to long that I’ve fallen into her words. But this one, this one. Was not prepared. Nope! NOT. AT. ALL.

_
Days later. I am still in a fog induced haze with this brilliant mafia impacted love story. The layers are so important in this story. The layers of meeting characters, the layers as to why such characters are doing the things they are doing, the suspenseful layers to uncovering why such events are happening, the way they are happening, and the most important the love layer. This is a beautiful story of redemption and pure and honest love.

As I said above. Willow Aster again slayed me with her words and the depth of her story telling. This is not your average Mafia love story. It was more so much more. Kept me up late and made me crave the intensity of a true and solid addicting read.

I give this book 5 out of 5 Completely Blown Away Stars!!! Like holy crap, this book is not what it seems at all. When you read the blurb and read the beginning of this book it seems like we are going to be swept away in a sweet romance that resembles “Pretty Woman”. You know how it goes, when the guy is in love with theprostitute but she has her guards up and eventually there is all that warm and fuzzy love. Well no, this book goes way beyond the realms of that and is uniquely designed! I could not stop reading this book and read it basically in one sitting. This book was not just a romance but more of a suspense that left you guessing and on edge. Heck at some points my skin was crawling and I had to lay in bed with the lights on to read it. This book even had a bit of mystery to it. Hell, it had it ALL!

I don’t want to give any details away but I am warning you that anyone who’s been in an abusive situation there may be a good bit of triggers for you in this book but it’s really hard to say. I was able to get through it and I have been in many abusive situations but have to admit it made my skin crawl and cringe. I just want to give that warning incase. Besides that for me it was completely worth it and was enthralled by the experience. I have never read Willow Aster’s work before and now that I have, I will say to her that “I will follow you anywhere.” Whore was a chilling, suspenseful and blissfully romantic masterpiece. The plot was solid and well written. The characters were well described and I absolutely loved them. Soti is my new fictional husband!!! I just loved the lack of jealousy and the unconditional love portrayed in this book. It really was beautiful. Lililth’s character is just amazing. She is stunning, beautiful, sexy and has no idea of her potential and worth. She is also such a strong woman and seeing the depths of her soul was incredible. You guys know I also like to bring my life experiences into my reviews to open up and relate, well this book opened my eyes in so many ways. I was involved in the escort business for years when I was younger. I’m a bit embarrassed to admit this. I was never a prostitute and I am definitely not judging anyone of course but I was in the management part I guess you can say and was an escort driver for many years. I served as protection to the girls and I dealt with the business transactions. I was sweet and caring to the girls I worked with. I still have contact with many of them and many of them were great friends. Unfortunately, I have had been involved in bad situations because of this and have seen my fair share of violence and brokeness. I am not proud of the things I have done but have learned from them to say the least. I don’t know if it was my experiences that made me in more awe of this book but this book really portrays how someone forced into this life lives and feels.

This book had me on an emotional rollercoaster and had me in tears at points but it made me realize a lot. Even if you didn’t think about the prostitution part if you just look at the inner battles that the main characters face, it was beyond intense! Lilith and Soti both battle these insecurites and inner demons that are so realistic and raw that you can’t help but evaluate your own feelings. I was personally blown away by this romantic suspense and can’t wait to check out the author’s other works!!! This book is highly Dani-approved and recommended! Spoiler-Free 4.5 Stars

‘I’ve messed everything up, but it was just too scary to keep going the way it was. It felt too sweet. Too close to something I could covet if I let myself. I got a glimpse of what being normal feels like, and had to force it back to what I’m comfortable with. Back to pretending. I’ll make sure it stays that way.’

This was our first book by Willow Aster and what a fabulous introduction to this Author’s words. We were swept away into a dark world of betrayal, heartbreak, violence and tragedy. However, in the midst of the despair a beacon of light and humanity exists. It was a truly compelling story that kept us captivated by its suspenseful twists and the wonderful show case of second chances and a healing love.

“I know we don’t know each other well, but…we’ve covered a lot of ground in a short amount of time. It feels like our souls are old friends. My heart recognizes yours.”

Lili’s destiny was determined from birth by her ruthless and power hungry Mother. The beautiful daughter destined to be a whore, albeit classy with a high sense of decorum. Her life is not her own neither is her future, rather it’s veiled in a menacing darkness by powers outside of her control. Whilst in many ways Lili is a victim she’s also a tower of strength and will. A woman, who when she receives her first honest and true human contact, kindness and love, realises and understands that her life can be different and she too is worthy of all the beauty in the world. It does not come easy though. Her life takes a turn she never could’ve envisaged and we were with her every step of the way.

‘It isn’t something I’ve ever considered. Girls like me know better than to dream about guys like him. Even with his imperfections, he’s perfect to me.’

Oh dear, if ever there was a question of the definition of a truly amazing man with a heart of pure gold, a kindness like no other and a strength of heart, love and conviction then Soti Christos is a main contender. The light in the cold of darkness that saves, heals and highlights the good, the soft and the warm. What a wonderful man he is. He comes into Lili’s life when she needs it most. However, their journey is not an easy one as first she must go it alone. However, knowledge is power and love is safety. A broken heart can mend and demons can be battled and overcome. Never underestimate the resilience and perseverance of a heart that truly loves, no matter its imperfections which in someone else’s eyes will be their ultimate perfections.

‘She engraves her name on my heart; I know exactly when it happens. She leans back just long enough to look in my eyes, as if checking to see if this is real. What she sees there reassures her, and we both shake with the knowledge of it. Two lost souls, found.'

There’s no better feeling than diving into a brand new romance by an author that is new to you, and being absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the impact it had on you. This was the feeling that I had once I DEVOURED Whore by Willow Aster. Who is this author, and where has she been all my life! I’m shocked she hasn’t been on my radar this whole time, but I’m incredibly grateful that she is now, and there is NO GOING BACK!

If you’re not intrigued by the book title alone, then the synopsis should absolutely reel you in. This romantic suspense will run away with your mind, body, and soul. This story of betrayal, redemption, and finding that one person you can love no matter what, just brought me to my knees on more than one occasion. These three characters, Lilith, Nico, and Soti were INCREDIBLE! Hero, heroine, villain…I don’t care! They were all so damn fantastic! And it wasn’t only the primary characters in the book that made this what it was. The supporting characters were so AMAZING! They brought this book to another level. Collectively, they made this truly intriguing romance a thing of beauty and magic!

If you’re looking for a new author to sink your teeth into, PLEASE make it Willow Aster! She took my mind by storm, you guys, and I am absolutely LOVING it! If you are already a big fan, well, you lucky dogs! You knew all along, didn’t you? I LOVE discovering new-to-me authors and Ms. Aster takes the cake! WHORE was an INCREDIBLE and UNIQUE read that had my head spinning from page one! I can’t wait to discover more of this author’s talent!

Honestly though, did Willow Aster REALLY write this? Sweet, sweet Willow? Did she? Wow! I am so very impressed with her. As I always am. Whore had the twists and the turns and the angst and the yearning. I did not see that coming with this book. Not at all.

“In another life, he looks exactly like someone I’d want to know.”

Whore was pretty cool because it shows just how versatile Willow can be as an author. She can write angsty love, she can write heartache and longing, and she can write mystery and twists and thankfully for us, Whore provides all of that! Full of great characters and a great story line that you definitely don’t read every day, my reading tastes were satisfied to the fullest.

If the book title alone doesn’t entice you to know more, you should know that Soti is the best person I have met in a book. Okay, maybe not THE best, but he was an incredible character who deserved everything and more. My only quirk was, we needed more of him. He was such an important part of this story that I wanted more from HIM instead of Lilith. More of his past and what his story entailed. I think I’m just very selfish with him. He was such a fantastic character. I can’t say that enough.

“Her eyes hold a thousand secrets, threatening to spill over; I want to unlock each and every one.”

Truth be told, I felt very iffy about Whore. The title was different and the cover was awesome. I don’t read blurbs so I had absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into. But I’m glad that I took the chance and read it. Willow has truly grown as an author and Whore proves that. Her creativeness and enchanting writing signified that.

I feel as if Whore is the combination of ALL of Willow’s book mixed together. Yes! That is it! So, if you want the angst that is in True Love Story, the mystery that is in Fade to Red, the yearning that is in In the Fields, and the spunk that is in Maybe Maby then you DEFINITELY need to read this book!

2.75 stars!

It didn't impress me at all. It is typical story »I am going to do something stupid - even I don't want to do, just to protect my person«. This is such boring cliche ☹

"WH*RE" was an intriguing "take on an ancient tale of tireless love, betrayal, and the possibility of redemption."

"No one plans to be a wh*re. Except maybe my mother. It certainly wasn’t my life’s dream as a little girl. As I got older, it was more of an understanding: this is what we’ve always been, and this is all we’re capable of becoming. It’s in my blood." -Lilith

"I’ve entertained district attorneys, two former Presidents of the United States, and the Prime Minister of England; they’re part of the elite group who have actually been in my fourth floor room. " - Lilith

At a very early age heroine, Lilith Fontenot was forced into prostitution by her mother. Their family has owned the family's brothel business- Maison D’amour since 1923 - four generations but this was not the path that Lilith wanted in any way to take! No, being a high-classed whore was never her dream --Lilith wanted so much more for herself but she does it because of her mother.

Mobster, Nico was a former client who loved her but left her to marry someone else. Two years later he walks back into her life... but she says no... well Lilith's wicked mother of hers has other ideas as well. So Lililth slips "onto the balcony and go down the fire escape. I’ve lowered my conscience and lost my self-esteem in the process of keeping the peace with my mother, but this is one time I will not bow to her."

Later on a bad accident occurs.... now Lilith really needs something better for herself and their is inspiring good guy, Soti who is devoted to her and she's falling hard for him. See Soti is complete light compared to her ex, Nico darkness and it's noticeable in this story. I won't give away anymore of this read, but it an excellent tale that will grab your attention and keep it.

For me, this story was an emotional read ---fresh and the writing was excellent. There were scenes in the story that were depressing due to the nature of the tale but all-in-all "Whore" was a memorable and engaging story. Will read more books by Willow Aster!

This book is now called Lilith.

Whore is a standalone book. It was listed on netgalley under romance and mysteries & thrillers. And I think this is accurate. There is romance. But there is also a mystery aspect to the book.

This is my first book by this author.

The book is divided into four parts. The book is narrated in first person POVs. The main narrator is Lilith/Lili (22).

When the book begins Lilith works as a prostitute at Maison D'amour in the French Quarter/New Orleans. Her mother Alexis is the Madam. Even though Lili is an escort there are no descriptions of those encounters. I was thinking that maybe the book would be super sexy, but it was less explicit than I was expecting (which was perfect for me).

Even though the book is called Whore I was surprised by her occupation (since I didn't re-read the blurb right before I started the book).

There are two main men in this story Nico (mobster) and Soti (works at a community center). We do get a male POV for some chapters.

I really liked Lili. I definitely felt bad for some of the things that she had to go through.

Some of the things that I liked about this book: I loved the community center and the people that worked there. I loved Jennie. I loved the mystery aspect of the book and I spent a good portion of the story wondering what Nico and Alexis could be up to.

Some of the things that I liked less: I don't love reading about people being hurt. And I don't love when people have romantic feelings super quickly.

The last half of this book was the strongest for me, especially the last 25%. There was a lot happening in the last part of the book. And I really did not want to put the book down.

Overall, this was an enjoyable story!

Thanks to netgalley and Willow Aster for allowing me to read this book.

A story of redeeming and unconditional love gets me every time in a story. I think it’s because of what I have experienced personally in my walk with God because He is the ultimate of redeeming love for me.

“All of us are just fragments trying to grasp onto the next broken piece, trying to be a little more complete. I love all the pieces of you I see and the ones I know you’re holding back. Together, the sum of our broken parts makes something pretty damn powerful.”

This is the perfect description Lili & Soti’s epic love story. We have Lilith groomed to be a whore since she was 15 by her mother never knew what it was like to truly be loved and not just used for her body by men..until Sotirios “Soti” Christos. I have a new book husband and Soti is his name. He embodies everything you’d want in a man.

This story is dark and goes deep in a world of corruption, prostitution in Maison D’amour in the heart of the French Quarter. There is mob life, secrets and lies. Lili’s mom is the worst! Using her daughter as a pawn for selfish gain.

This book literally had it all! Suspense, kidnapping, falling in love for the first time as grown adults. Everything!! Definitely on my faves list for 2020! I love how Soti’s love erased all the yuck of her past and what she experienced as a “whore.” This is proof that there is power and healing in forgiveness, and when we choose to accept it we get changed. Like a diamond in the rough polished to perfection.

“When will you understand the depth of my love for you? ‘If I go up to the heavens, you are there … if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.’ There is nothing to forgive. This is why I love Soti.

I’m not spoiling a thing in this book. Go in blind and read this beautiful masterpiece for yourself.

5 Soti sized stars! Review to follow!
UPDATE:
Is it too late to add another book to my Best of 2017 list? Nope. I make the rules, and it’s still 2017.

Whore, by Willow Aster, is absolutely incredible. This emotion-packed, unconventional romance was intense. There were a few times I had to put this book down to keep myself from peeking ahead every few pages.  My anxiety levels were pretty cranked up from the angst and suspense-filled plot.

Lili is forced into following her mother's footsteps to work at Maison D’amour as a prostitute. She meets Soti, a generous man with a heart of gold.  After a twist of fate, Lili might be able to leave her depressing life at the whore house.  Her scheming mother forced Lili into a relationship with Nico, an upcoming mafia associate with an agenda of his own. That's all I'm going to say because I don't want to spoil this story for you.

Lili and Soti’s unconventional romance will tug at your heartstrings.  If you're thinking this story is going to be like the movie Pretty Woman, it isn’t. Whore is a story of unconditional love, strength, devotion, and redemption.  One-click this one!

There has been so much hype around this book, it made me a little nervous to read it. I'm so glad it didn't disappoint!

Maison D'amour of New Orleans only takes the high-end clientele. It may be a whore house, but only the privileged can get through the door. Alexis Fontenot is the lady of the house, and she only takes the best girls. To the outside world the Maison D'amour is an upscale spa and is called the house of love by the regulars, but this isn't the place dreams are made of.

Lilith is Alexis daughter. One day she will be queen bee. Her mother is cold and all business. Her daughter, Lilith has only known one life. The life of a whore. She is beautiful beyond a doubt. Her clientele is the most exclusive and she sees twice as many men as any other girl.

Nico Santelli is the stuff nightmares are made from. He's in line to take over the mob and evil beyond a doubt. He was Lilith's first customer. Her younger self-thought he would be her saviour, but she soon realised she was in bed with the devil himself. She cut off ties with him years ago, but Nico always gets what he wants. Lilith has always been something he wants and he is done with waiting.

Soti wants to save the world. One wrong undoing at a time. He's kind-hearted and determined to make up for his past. He wants to save Lilith. His love for her is beyond obsession, but could he be her angel? The price to find out could cost him everything.

A whores life isn't glamorous, but it is all Lilith has ever known. She doesn't trust anyone. She is kept in pristine condition and her heart is on ice. This is just the beginning. The danger is just starting and her life is about to change forever. It just might not be for the better.

This is a dark story which is totally addictive. It's disturbing and shocking. It's about love, life and taking what you want.

4.5 stars out of 5.

“...a beautiful love story Instead of the twisted tragedy we really are.”

Willow Aster is back and better than ever with a love story that will have you devouring the pages till the very end.

With suspense, intrigue, and characters you’ll love and a few you’ll hate, Willow Aster’s newest release has it all.

Lilith lives a life she didn’t choose, Nico is just one huge mistake she can’t escape, and Soti is the knight in shining armor who swoops in to rescue her.

“How can you love someone who will never be whole?”

“All of us are just fragments trying to grasp onto the next broken piece, trying to be a little more complete...Let me in, Lili. Together, the sum of our broken parts makes something pretty damn powerful.”

God, I love him—the gentle giant. The man with the hugest heart and poetic words.

But with all tales, nothing ever goes as planned and Lili and Soti have some huge obstacles to overcome if they’re ever going to have a happy ending.

Whore had me on the edge of my seat—desperately hoping for another true love story.

If you’re looking for an angsty, twisty ride with Willow Aster’s signature romance as well as some added suspense, you won’t be disappointed!!
