This is the latest books in the Here’s Hank series. Hank is a lively second-grade student who possesses tons of enthusiasm and energy, but often lacks organization and planning skills. In this particular book Hank, on very short notice, decides to enter a robot building contest at his school. Despite many obvious obstacles to this plan, including not having the slightest idea about how to build a robot, Hank refuses to give up. Find out how Hank uses his resources to make a success of this challenge.

There is a genuine honesty and innocence about Hank that makes the reader root for his success. His ability to look for the goodness in those he encounters leaves us with an invaluable lesson about how to view others. This chapter book has several important messages to impart to the young reader about how to confront new challenges and open yourself to a variety of friendships.

This book features a special font called Dyslexie that makes it easier for those with dyslexia to read it, which is pretty cool. The eleventh in this series featuring the lovable but often unreliable Hank, this book follows Hank and his two best friends, Ashley and Frankie, as they attempt to build a robot at the last minute for the school competition. The text and images capture perfectly his earnest desire to complete the project and do well but also his struggles to remain focused or to complete tasks. But he never quits trying, even when distracted by food or other interests. Here, he reaches out to Jaden, a younger schoolmate with mad robot skills for help, and then, when Jaden is ridiculed at the competition before he can even compete, Hank does exactly the right thing. His comment to his nemesis, classmate Nick McKelty, when he belittles his certificate of participation is the perfect rejoinder. After all, there is something to be said for putting oneself out there and taking a risk. Many elementary school students will be able to relate.

I liken the inclusion of Jaden. As a person who used to be one of those shy kids, it is nice to get well represented in a book that could make a child want to read it.

Ok, so. There was a building robot contest and it was announced a month ago and Hank forget about the challenge so he only had 2 more days to build a robot! So he had to work fast and he got help from his friend, Jaden.
I recommend this book because it is suspenseful.

Funniest book ever!

I just loved where the sock landed during the competition. I liked that the kids made a new friend even though he was different
