I was lucky to have grown up in Fort Collins, Colorado. I am also lucky to live in Monument, Colorado amongst the pine trees and have an incredible view of Pike’s Peak.
I met my husband, Bill at Colorado State University. I taught several years in middle school in Denver and then joined our greenhouse business in Littleton, Colorado. We grew carnations and then transitioned to potted plants and bedding plants. Our son, Ryan lives in Colorado Springs with his wife, Valerie and has three children: Tommy, Norah, and Hannah. Our daughter, Jeanette lives in Castle Rock with her husband, Tim and their four children: Annalise, Sam, Heidi and Joy.
My twin sister, Carol Stokes and I became a writing team after attending a national RWA conference in 2012. Carol and I had started writing a book and needed lots—I do mean lots—of help in how to write a good sweet contemporary romance. After several more conferences and five years later, our first book was completed. We wanted to self-publish and decided to finish the next two books in the series. Unfortunately, Carol passed away in 2016 before the books were published. I told Carol I would publish them.
Carol and I wrote four books in our Affairs of the Heart series. Carol was a pantser- she would start writing a book and continue writing for hours. I would add to her plot. The first two books are about twin sisters who search for lasting relationships. The third book redeems a negative character in the first book. The fourth book’s main character has retired from playing NFL football and trying to decide what to do with his life.
I am now retired, enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, and traveling with my husband. I will continue to take Carol's notes and add to them and finish writing her books.
