New Resolutions is book five in A Crystal Cove Holiday series by Dee Ellis. I really enjoyed the first book in this series and skipped ahead to book five so I could read it for New Years. While this one was plenty sweet and very sexy, I didn’t enjoy it as much.
Colby Lodge is a bartender for a bar called The End. He feels like his life has turned into a country music song. His girlfriend left him and he found out she has been cheating on him with his best friend. His truck broke down. His cat ran away. And he’s being evicted from his house. Things couldn’t get much worse.
It’s shortly before Christmas and he’s at work when the one person he didn’t expect to ever see again walks into the bar, Mia Potter. Mia was his teenage love. The woman that still held his heart. The one that got away. Five years ago, Mia left town and took his heart with her. Now for whatever reason, she is back, but for how long this time?
“Mia is like the sun; bright and warm but fleeting. I always stare too long, too hard and get blinded by her light.”
Mia and Colby don’t waste any time in reuniting, everywhere, on every surface! They finally share their true feelings for each other but is it enough to keep Mia here this time? Or should Colby memorize every minute with her until she leaves again?
“This year, I’m making a resolution before midnight on the 31st. This time, I want to keep the girl I love.”
While this was an enjoyable book, I couldn’t connect with these two for some reason. I do enjoy the smexy times but there was some need for communication here that could have avoided some of their issues. Instead of talking, these two spent most of their time with other activities!
Still, it was a fun little book and I do plan to continue with the series when it gets closer to Valentine’s Day with book two, Stupid Cupid.

New Resolutions is a sweet, hot, quick read, where I fell in love with Colby!!! I can’t wait to read more from Dee Ellis!

I love second chance romances, Colby and Mia’s story has me grinning ear to ear. “Just give me one day..” geezus I swear I felt Colby’s heartache as if it were my own and then learning Mia’s side of things tore me apart again. Resolutions are always made on NYE and more often then not they fail us, wouldn’t you like to see what happens when they do come true and changes are made?. I’m not giving anything anyway because I want you to experience this story for yourself. Come back to Crystal Cove and have a drink or two at The End with everyone and see what unfolds with these two. You’ll have laughs, enjoy some steamy scenes and even a few tears eyed moments. It’s a great holiday read that’s enjoyable all year round. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

I absolutely love this series and this book has not disappointed!!!!
I devoured this novella in one sitting, with the drama and intrigue and the sex! Daaaaaaamn, is this book hot in the best possible way. Having said that, there is a whole new level of emotion in this book, and the connection that you feel to the characters is amazing. It was great to also see some of my favourites from the previous books in this series but you could read this as a standalone if you want. I look forward to seeing more of the Crystal Cove family in the future.

My Resolution- Read more by Dee Ellis.
One sitting, couldn’t put it down, beautiful, angsty, HOT! Jeez there is so much beautiful angst in this short little story and t blew my mind. I am head over heels for Colby and Mia. Love, love, loved them! I’m new to the Crystal Cove series but not to this author. I’ve loved her writing so far and now I am adding the Crystal Cove series to my list. New Resolutions, while quick, is beautiful written, full of emotion and connect ability to the characters. A perfect way to start a new year. A perfect holiday read. A perfect little story.

I have loved all of the Crystal Cove books and New Resolutions is a fantastic addition to this series. Undeniably sweet and deliciously sizzling from the beginning, this story grabs you and pulls you into the lives of these characters immediately. Once again Dee delivers characters to fall in love with and a story we can all identify with.

5 Stars to New Resolutions Crystal Cove Holiday #5 by author Dee Ellis
I loved this sexy, short book! New Resolutions is a perfect evening read, one that you want to start AND finish before bed.
Colby was a sweet hero. But as sweet as he was, Colby was a dirty-talking sexy beast. Damn!
Colby hasn't been having the best of luck lately. One aspect about his character that I absolutely loved was his determination to keep thinking positively. I was rooting for his HEA from page one. Still, Colby has to deal with a bit more heartbreak before he gets his happily ever after.
Mia was not my favorite heroine. I'll be honest, I didn't like her until the end. Fortunately I was patient waiting to find out her secrets because they redeemed her character for me.
I don't want to give you anymore details or even a summary because this book is so short and you'll want to read Colby and Mia's story for yourself. I will say that once again, Dee Ellis wrote a super sexy romance. The Crystal Cove Holiday series is one you should all read. Each book has it's own charm, just like that of the city of Crystal Cove itself. I truly hope we will get more holiday romances from Crystal Cove and author Dee Ellis.

Awwwww this is such a sweet second chance story and I really like it.
It's a fast-paced read, I devoured it in a short time. I can't put it down, wondering what happened in the past, why she did what she did and will Colby and Mia find their happily ever after.
I feel the angst, the frustration and the heartbreak. And don't forget all those hot steamy scenes and all the sweet cheesy love.
Even though there's some unfitting moments, I still enjoy it nonetheless.
As for characters, I love Colby and Mia, their relationship is fiery and they love so deep, although I wished there's more story about them, it feels like it's just the surface. These two really frustrating sometimes, I want to kick them, but still they're a sweet couple.
If you're looking for short holiday second chance romance read, this one is for you.

This is a second romance type novella where girl leaves and comes back to the guy she loved. Mia striked me as a flirt who basically got whatever she wanted since she came from a rich family. Colby striked me as a guy who had to always work for what he wanted. At first Colby was heart broken because of his girlfriend at the time cheating on him and then as soon as Mia came back in town he was still a little mad with her but then everything changes. To see what comes next, you have to read how it ends between these two characters.

I absolutely love the Crystal Cove series. Every time Dee takes us back there I meet new characters that I fall in love with. Im a sucker for a second chance romance and Dee delivered. This story was super hot from the very beginning and Colby was all alpha male with the biggest heart. Mia is the girl that goes back home to get her man. They both have trust issues and doubts that cause some bumps in the road, but this sweet love story had me hooked all the way through. New Resolutions is a great way to start your New Year. I hope there is more to come from Crystal Cove😉

Such a HOT book from start to finish. Dee Ellis does it again. I love all her Crystal Cove books. A must read for the new year. Mia and Colby BURN hot through the whole book, who doesn't love a second chance romance. I really hope this isn't the last we see of that sweet little town.

I have absolutely loved this entire novella series and #5 did not disappoint!!! Crystal Cove is the most adorable, quaint little town, and the people there are an amazing mix of awesomesauce!!
In New Resolutions, we meet Colby (bartender at Aria's bar) and Mia. They had been friends since they were little kids, and then it grew into more than friends....but when Mia leaves, Colby's heart is shattered. Now, 5 years later, Colby's world is falling apart and nothing seems to be going right. Until Mia shows up in town, that is!
This second chance short story is packed full of all the goodness we love in a romance! There's a lot of drama, pain, sadness, and tears that come along with this couple's journey, but how much can they really take before enough is enough?
This definitely had a couple twists that I didn't expect and it had me constantly picking up my kindle to read every chance I could and see what was going to happen! I will admit, I didn't like Mia for a good majority of the book...but then it all makes more sense once you hear her side of everything! They would frustrate the hell outta me one minute, then make my heart smile big the next minute, then turn around and melt my damn kindle!!! And I loved every f'in minute of it!! Colby is a sexy, dirty talking beast and Mia is a sexy little minx...How can you ever go wrong with that combo!?
Totally love getting a glimpse of previous characters from this series and seeing how things are going with them now! I hope to see a lot more of Crystal Cove Holiday series from the amazingly talented author, Dee Ellis! Another big 5 star hit in the series from me!

My Favorite Dee book!
Colby is my favorite character from Dee. I don't even know how to explain why. The way he suffers and the way he loved Mia for so long and so hard. I cried for Colby on so many occasions in this book. My heart broke thinking he knew he was going to break. Give me tonight. Give me this moment. This is my last moment with her. Those sentences broke me and they broke Colby. This book was so emotional for me which made it so much better for me.
I loved the way Mia came back for Colby Lodge. It was the perfect way for him.

A short very hot, quick read, that doesn't leave you feeling as though you missed anything. You feel for the characters and fall in love with them.

Making a resolution that lasts
Colby and Mia loved each other since they were teenagers but Mia thought her past would ruin him so she left. Breaking both their hearts. Colby tried to move on but when that doesn't work and Mia strolls back into town five years later he's lost in her again. Now he just needs to get her to stay this time. How is it that a short story can convey so much and make you feel so much? Magic, it's got to be steamy, romantic magic.
