Book Two in the bestselling Knight Everlasting series - a curse stalks those who stumble upon it.... Read for free in Kindle Unlimited!
Sophie McCurdy is thrilled to help renovate the crumbling ruins of Grancourt Castle. Even more thrilled when she finds an ancient book that seems to have been written by the very girl who mysteriously died there the year before. It doesn’t seem possible.
Neither does ending up in 1398. But Sophie is definitely there, in the past, in Grancourt Castle in all its original glory. She’s faced with breaking a curse that should have already been broken by Fay and Tristan. After all, their love is definitely real. However, the curse isn’t playing fair and it seems someone or something might be trying to get rid of her before she has a chance to find true love.
Sir Leo Zane only wants to live a peaceful, quiet life after years of war. He doesn’t want to visit his neighbors, let alone marry one of them. He needs time alone to heal and reflect.
Instead of avoiding them, he accidentally shoots one of the Grancourt girls. Lady Sophie is supposed to be the youngest daughter, but he doesn’t remember her at all. Something isn’t right. He learns of the curse, which is riddled with cracks and threatening all of their existences. Despite knowing he’s not worthy of her love, he vows to help her as much as he can. So much for his peaceful, quiet life.
Cassidy Cayman has a distinct gift for writing unique and compelling time travel romance novels with a touch of paranormal mystery thrown in for good measure. Enchanted, is Book two of her new series, Knight Everlasting. I love her time travel romances because her characters are always complex and precisely developed helping the reader be able to distinguish between the diverse aspects of their personalities. What makes them tick, behave the way they do and make the choices they make. In book two, you can’t help but become attached to Sophie and Leo as they navigate through all of the trials and adversities they face within the story. Tristan and Faye return from book one to try to help Sophie navigate through her unexpected experience of being thrown through time by a curse and the difficulties it presents. I don’t like to spoil the experience of reading a good mystery by giving away too many details. This is an excellent book that runs the gamut of emotions and has you holding your breath one minute and identifying with their feelings of anxiety the next. It’s filled with humor, suspense and the unexpected. The author seamlessly blends one story into the next continuing the adventure and mystery. In my opinion, this is one of those books you won’t want to put down. I can’t wait to get my hands on book three.
This is book 2 in the Knight Everlasting series. Sophie McCurdy is thrilled to be helping out with renovating the ruins of Grancourt Castle. She is even happier when she finds a book that seems to have been written by the girl who mysteriously died there the year before. Neither does ending up in 1398, but Sophie is definitely there, in Grancourt Castle in all it's original glory. Now she has to break a curse that should have already been broken by Fay and Tristan. Their love is real after all. However the curse isn't playing fair and it seems someone or something might be trying to get rid of her before she has the chance to find true love. Sir Leo Zane wants only to live a peaceful, quiet life after years of war. He doesn't want to visit his neighbours never mind marry one of them. Instead of avoiding them, he accidentally shoots one of them. One his Mother is not very nice to until she finds out that it's Lady Sophie. Lady Sophie is supposed to be the youngest daughter, but he doesn't remember her at all. Something isn't right. Then one night Sophie tells him of the curse thinking he will hear something else, but definitely not what she says and is more then shocked to realize that for some reason he heard every word she said about the curse. The curse that is riddled with cracks and threatening all of their lives. Despite thinking he is not worthy of her love, he vowes to help her as much as possible. Ha so much for the quiet peaceful life he wanted. Can they break the curse this time? Will Sophie and Leo find true love and will it save them all? Will Tristan ever get back and still have all of his memories of practically being engaged to Fay? I must tell you that I personally found this book to be better then the first and can't wait to read the third when it comes out. Way to go Cassidy Cayman you are totally amazing and truly one gifted writter. When I read her books the world around me just seems to disappear and I feel like I'm right there with the character's feeling their happiness and heartbreak. When I do have to put the book down all I can think about is that I can't wait to pick the book up and read on. That is what her books do to me. Cassidy Cayman you rock and this book deserves way more then the five stars allotted. If you enjoy time travel try one of Cassidy's books. I guarantee you that you will not be disappointed.
Outrageously unbelievable, yet the author makes it very believable, pulling me right down the rabbit hole with Fay and Sophie! My opinion? This one is a winner with a dynamic, unique plot.
Cayman is a master at world-building, keeping me flipping those pages, demanding answers! Twists, turns, back steps, oh my. Your head will be spinning. Read the series! You’ll be stoked! My following remarks will sound a bit convoluted but will make perfect sense once you get into the series.
This author knows how to push all my buttons. Chapters end on cliffhanger while the next scene takes me to another point of view with a scene leading up to the one which leaves me gasping! Oh, how fun! Cayman has me so tightly coiled, putting down the book was nay impossible! The story is full of twists and turns, not only the fear of time running out. Would they all die? And what kept me reading most avidly was who is manipulating the curse and how are these girls going to get out of this terribly frightening situation? And always the ever-present curse which seems to not follow its own rules. Fay had a year before the curse had reset the whole scenario. The next time she thought she knew what would happen, but found life didn’t quite happen the same way, again. The resetting of time just about made Fay (heroine in book 1) give up, but she wanted to break the curse. If she could, she possibly could go back home. But then she wasn’t sure she wanted to because Tristan had become her true love.
Fay had put on the wedding dress found in a Grancourt castle’s ruins and is propelled back 600 years. She didn’t succeed in breaking the curse, but almost succeeded in being killed. Luckily, the curse had reset time. (part of book one) Where those who had died, were once more alive, where those she had known before, replay scenes, but with variations. Sophie from the future (book 2), also puts on the wedding dress becoming Fay’s new sisters. Everyone recognizes her as Lady Sophie.
Both girls are now trying to break the curse. They are still in 1398. In the process, they become very attached to each other as does this reader. The elder daughter Anne is the true daughter of Grancourt Castle, sickly, dying in book one, one of the pieces of this story which breaks Fay’s heart. Can she prevent it the second time when the curse resets?
Sir Leo Zane is a new character in the resetting of the curse. Will he be affected? Sophie is definitely attracted to this older man, an injured warrior, but he feels he’s not good enough or young enough for Sophie. To Sophie, can he be her true love, the one the curse says will break it? I’m ready to wring Sir Leo’s neck! He’s so unsure of himself, yet time after time he steps up to the plate and gets the job done.
One thought comes to mind, perhaps everyone is misinterpreting the words of the curse? I've got to find out!
True to Cayman’s style, she leaves me on another cliffhanger of sorts at the end of the book but gives us a peek into how the story evolves. Dear author, leave me not in too much suspense. Write that third book! Reader, while you’re waiting for the third of the series, the complete series is a must. You won’t appreciate book two as much if you don’t read book one.
Wow! I was addicted with book 1 "Endearing (Knight Everlasting) ".....that final sentence when Fay went back to her room after being abducted and thrown in the dungeon only to discover a mystery woman wearing a neon headband in her room. The neon being of great import as she herself had somehow been thrust back in time to 1398 due to a curse. Forced to relive a certain few months of time as part of a wealthy family.... Until or if she manages to break said curse, Fay is forced to to see events play out repeatedly. Book 2 literally picks up immediately after Fay discovers this mystery woman who is very obviously from her own time. After all she had done to ensure that no new innocents would be harmed by this dratted curse, and this little twit went and did EXACTLY what she warned not to do?!?!? Enter Sophie McCurdy who thanks to said curse, instantly becomes the third sister of the household. Yet only Fay even recalls that as up until moments before there had never even been a third sister. Oh the joy of this blasted curse and how it twists and turns everything at it's own whim. Sophie and Fay get off to a contentious beginning as Fay is frustrated to say the least that Sophie chose NOT to heed to her warning. Soon Sophie realizes just what she'd done was extremely foolish... After all she's now dead in her time thanks to this curse. Together the women band together to try against all hope to figure who is out to get them. Who is behind this infernal curse, and who in the castle is helping it? Will everything play out as they have repeatedly before... Or can they change things? Will Sophie find true love and a hope of breaking this cruel cycle? Warning: you WILL get lost along the way unless you read book 1. However it is well worth the ride!! Cheer as both Sophie and Fay let down their guard and come to care for the friends and family within the castle. Do they heed the note and harden their hearts as the curse will undoubtedly repeat over and over.... Or do they embrace the love of these amazing people? Dive in and see the many trials and tribulations these two fierce and independent women go through... Experience their pain and joy along the way. I was fully expecting a whopper of an ending based on how book 1 ended... Once more the author did NOT disappoint …only downside is now I wish book 3 were already available. I for one will be first in line for that release. Here's hoping that Sophie, Fay and their co-conspirators find a way to find happiness and break this infernal curse.
Leo IS loveable! Looking forward to the next in series too :)
This is the second book in a series about a wedding dress, a curse, a trip through time and a desperate search for true love. It’s a truly delightful group of characters who must beat a curse in order to survive, but the curse seems to have a mind of its own. In this installment, Sophie is dragged back 600 years in time and joins these characters from the first book. She is convinced she can find a way to break the power of the curse if she can find true love. She meets Sir Leo, an older, war hardened, but gentle knight and believes he may be her answer. But, is he? I thoroughly enjoyed this book in the series as these two people fall for each other. She is looking to prove true love exists, and he is not quite convinced he is loveable at all. There are some humorous moments, as well as that ever present heat between Sophie and Leo. It will be interesting to read the next story as I am soooo looking forward to it!
I got hung up on this curse since book 1! Who is behind this damned thing? Why is it all wonky now, and why wasn't Fay able to break it if she found true love? Now Sophie is in a similar predicament, but nothing is like it was before. She's fallen for a battle scarred Crusader who doesn't believe he's good enough for her. He needs more time to come to terms with his feelings, and stop acting the fool, but the curse has accelerated with it's time table somehow!
The best part is the ending! I was not expecting what happened (even though I should have) but it looks like there will be a 3rd and final book to break this freakin' curse! Can't wait!
Here the author takes us on a wonderful adventure with Sophie McCurdy in this second book in the Knight Everlasting series. She goes back in time and wonders if she too can possibly find love there. Along comes Leo Zane who is bound and determined to finally live a peaceful life...until this beautiful strange woman appears in his life. The curse though will present challenges in this adventure.
This is the second book in this time travel series. In the previous book, Fay thought she would end the curse by falling in love. Instead, she ends up with another sister. Sophie gets pulled into the past by the curse. Does she fall in love? Can she end the curse? Read this book and find out what happens. Like the first book, this one ends on a cliffhanger. Do not despair; there is a third book to devour.
Ms. Cayman’s novel is a breath of fresh air: fast and funny, with an adorable main character, a loveable leading man, and romantic tension as taunt as a drawn bowstring.
I love the very creative written word in this fascinating mysterious tale. Enchanted will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat. As you consume more and more of the chapters, you will find yourself not wanting to put the book down. The characters are developing as you get further into the series. Highly recommend.
The castle and everyone in was cursed. Author Cassidy Cayman has the year over and over again in 1398 until the curse could be broken. First Fay time traveled to the past and tried to break it then Sophie. All that needed to be proven is true love but still couldn’t break the spell.
Still interested in the story and what happens to the characters because you know what? The endings don't really finish but lead you to continue with the next book! I need book 3!
Loved the book, but disliked the ending. 😏 That was a major cliffhanger! I'd like to think the siblings will be reunited though. Look forward to reading the other time-travel by this author.
This series just gets better and better! The curse seems infallible but can Jordan, Sophie's brother. make the difference in it all? Cannot wait to find out.
Realizing the curse was not broken, Sophie begins to relive that year. At least this time she has her "sister" Fay as an ally. Trying to find her true love was an interestingly fun part of the book. At first, she latches onto Brom-until Fay informs her that he will be Batty's true love and hands off. Wandering the grounds outside the castle, she is accidentally shot by Leo, who doesn't really remember there being a younger sister.
The amazing aspect of the book and the storyline-you are reading the same story as book one, with significant changes. Basically, a new book, with a familiar feel to it. I loved the interaction between Fay and Sophie. From the beginning, they really acted as if there were sisters in truth. The banter between them was fun to read. I was sad that the first snow brought the same result as in book one, but maybe that will change in book three....
The plot twist at the end to set the stage for book three is priceless. I can't wait!
