Ex-special forces, Jacob King, is a man who keeps to himself, having learned the hard way that letting people close to you, trusting them, might just get you killed. I enjoyed this one a lot. It was a fantastic read. This isn't surprising as every book I have read by this author has been fantastic. That said, it was also my least favorite of the series. There was just something about this couple I couldn't connect with. Both main characters came across a little "meh" to me. Especially Jacob who I found a bit flat personality wise. But it happens. Not every book can be a home run and like I said even with that issue I still found it an enjoyable read.
~WRITING - PLOT - PACE~ As always with this author the writing was fantastic. It was very well paced, and I never felt the need to skim. The plot was engaging. The mystery aspect kept me guessing until the end. That said, I did feel like the "slayer" aspect was wrapped up a bit too easily and anticlimactic given the number of pages the author spent building it up. And the side storyline about Jesse Marks felt a little underdeveloped and could have used a bit more fleshing out.
~HERO~ Jacob...I liked him but I didn't love him. Like I mentioned above I found this character (personality) a little flat. I honestly can't even put my finger on why. He just didn't WOW me like some of this author's other hero's. He was a decent guy though. Alpha. Badass. Didn't appear to be a manwhore. He was kind of a jerk near the end though and his behavior towards Jewel pissed me off.
~HEROINE~ Jewel...I liked her more than Jacob but her character didn't WOW me either. She didn't come across as flat as Jacob did. She had more "personality" and maybe it was because I felt her character was a bit more fleshed out than Jacobs was. I am usually not a fan of detective (police) heroines, but Jewel didn't come across as over the top hard or a bitch. The author did a good job of balancing the strong police detective side with the softer vulnerable woman side.
~SIDE CHARACTERS~ There was a good cast of secondary characters in this one. Mainly characters and couples from previous WALKER SECURITY books and the TALL, DARK, AND DEADLY series. It's always nice to see little glimpses of previous characters we've read about.
~HEAT LEVEL~ Medium. This one was OK hot. It was a bit of a slow burn with no sex until halfway through the book. The sex scenes were suitably hot and lowish on frequency. I wouldn't say this was insta-lust. Maybe insta-attraction and even though I didn't think this couple was overly exciting they did at times have some good on page chemistry.
~ANGST LEVEL~ Low to Medium. I would say this wasn't an overly angsty book. There was some push and pull. A lot of inner thoughts about how they shouldn't or can't be together. A douche move (IMO) on the hero's part. There was no OW or OM drama. Neither were virgins. The hero didn't sleep around. The heroine ended things with a fuck buddy six months prior. No condoms but they did have a safe sex talk.
~IN THE END~ I liked it. It was a very good book that I had a few issues with. Did those issues take away from my enjoyment? A little, but honestly, not enough that I ever thought about not finishing it. Would I recommend it? Yes, totally and with that in mind this one gets a thumbs up from yours truly.

Anyone who knows me knows that I’m an LRJ fanatic. A freaking fiend. I have to read everything she touches because she’s just that amazing. She crafts these intricate stories full of romance, mystery and suspense that always leave me awed with her talents. By the time I got to the end of Falling Under, I was speechless. It took me a while to even be able to put my thoughts to paper. That’s how you know an author has grabbed you by the gullet, in the best of ways.
Jacob King, ex Green Beret, accomplished assassin, and now a key member of Walker Security, has been tasked with watching the back of one of the most stubborn people he’s ever met. In fact, Jewel Carpenter, or should I say Detective Jewel Carpenter, may be just as stubborn as he is. Used to handling things her own way and needing absolute control, these two butt heads while working on her protection order. Their instant chemistry certainly doesn’t help matters. This case becomes only more complicated when it’s discovered that a simple threat is really someone stalking and haunting Jewel. She has become the clear target and Jacob will stop at nothing to make sure she remains safe, even if that means moving the target to his own back.
I loved these two characters so much. Jacob came off as aloof, cold and lethal, however, his humanity and vulnerability couldn’t help but shine through when he was with Jewel. She brought out a side of him that he wasn’t intimately familiar with and it was so fun to watch his thaw. As for Jewel, I’m a huge fan of strong female leads and I admired her dogged determination and relentless search for truth and justice. Together, these two were phenomenal. They bolstered each other’s strength and recognized each other’s weaknesses, all while being the person that the other could count on. I absolutely loved how Jacob was able to draw Jewel out of her shell. They each suffered so much pain and loss, but together they were able to see to the other side and that was a huge part of what made them magical to me.
If you love an intense, sexy and adrenaline pumping action read, you don’t want to miss the ones that Lisa Renee Jones seems to create like a wand-wielding, romantic suspense producing wizard!
Release Date: Jan. 23, 2018 | Genre: Romantic Suspense | Dual POV - 1st person | Heat: 3.5 out of 5 | Standalone - Book #3 of the Walker Security series with character crossover
Gutsy, suspense filled romantic stories are what she does best. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Just when you think she can’t come up with better characters than she has brought in the past Walker Brothers stories, Lisa Renee Jones turns around and proves me wrong.
In Falling Under we get to meet Jacob. An oh-my-God hot hunk of a man who has past, a secret one at that. He is matched perfectly with Detective Jewel Carpenter in every aspect. From the tough talk and argumentative banter to their heat between the sheets, their connection is an experience.
Jones ramps up the intrigue and the romance side is definitely strong and sexy in this story. And the ending, that was a thing of beauty. Jacob is a gem and a delicious addition to the Walker security team.
Once again this author delivers a fabulous read. You will never be bored and she always gives plenty of surprises along the way. She has proven that she is at the top of her game and her books are always a one click read for me.

Jewel Carpenter is married to her career as a Detective on a New York City police force. She's spent the last two years determined to not only be as great as her Uncle was, but also to solve the many cold cases that he left behind. When her CEO father brings in the Walker Security team, she thinks its a bit much, but the ominous letters that target her and the odd gifts left at her apartment finally make her accept the company of none other than Jacob King. The former Green Beret turned security is as handsome as he is big, consuming her thoughts and all her space. They bicker as much as they flirt, lusting after one another as protection turns into feelings and feelings bring them even more danger. Jewel wants to solve her media-crazed case and find her stalker, Jacob wants to protect her during it all. As the threats get darker, they find themselves threatened by both a crazed man and by their desire for something more.
"She's right. I feel it. Trouble is coming and it's not gentle. It's fierce. It's angry. It's deadly. And it's definitely two steps ahead of us."
I wasn't sure what to expect from Falling Under, it's definitely the usual fare from Lisa Renee Jones, but also a bit different with our heroine, Jewel, being a hardass detective. She is all serious all the time, with her career the focus of her life. It turns this book into a more detective-mystery novel than a suspenseful romance. We spend much of the novel learning about Jewel's current case, about the unsolved cases of her now-deceased friends and family, and about her drive to know Jacob and the cold case he refuses to let her know about. While it has a lot of LRJ's hot and smutty scenes, it's less romantic than I think I'm used to. I did appreciate that we spent less time running in Falling Under and more time facing every single situation head on. Jacob King didn't have as many chapters in his POV, but like the book suggests of him, he did manage to take up much of my thoughts while I read. He's the most complex of the characters, less open book and the one holding his past behind closed doors. I felt like he had a lot of character development and definitely changed the most in the novel, finding a way to become a part of a we rather than just an I.
"She sees things. She gets things. She gets me like I do her, even if she doesn't realize that yet."
Falling Under is a standalone Walker Security novel and another opportunity for readers who love LRJ's characters to see them all interacting together. I loved getting a fresh story about one of the men, but I really enjoyed seeing how the others were doing and their women too. I was less caught up in the romance than I have been in the past though, I just didn't feel the chemistry between Jacob and Jewel. For me, it felt like time was of the essence and it seemed like a good fit, there was no bonding when things were a little calmer. I loved how it ended, how it all worked out in the end, but I would've loved the lengthy novel to have given me more feelings for these two.
"I don't want to need anyone. She doesn't want to need anyone, and yet, here we are."
Falling Under is an action-packed, suspenseful standalone in the Walker Security series. It's impossible to be bored when reading a Lisa Renee Jones novel, especially when it involves the men of Walker Security. If you like your novels sexy and fast paced, pick this one up, for sure!
ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review

Sorry Ms. Jones ,you are an amazing writer but I can’t stand these two
Sorry Ms. Jones ,you are an amazing writer but I can’t stand these two ,your H and h here Jacob and Jewel started off interesting and intriguing... I didn’t really feel their chemistry personally but the “were” interesting but by 40% of the book their fights about who was more closed off or who was the bigger pain in the rear or who was really in control was about as much fun as bone grinding on bone .... Fighting can be fun and maybe even sexy but these two were too hard,to controlled , this wasn’t fun or sexy these were two ppl fighting constantly almost for control and dominance .. This are two ppl soooo closed off nit even wind or cold or rain can get thru most of the time .... While I can understand the foolish and even stupid need to think this will save you pain and heartache, I seriously want to snack that stupid idiot Jewel upside the head when I had to hear her thinking (total BS!) that if she had had just more control her friend would be alive, right, because your like what God now and your control can control who lives and dies ? Sighs, I know we all can tell ourselves stupid stuff like that when we are hurting but I just didn’t like her at all... I detest characters who (especially females) act like the can NEVER lean on anyone or let anyone help them in order to be strong , No that’s NOT STRONG that’s stupid! No one is invincible,we ALL need help and we ALL end someone to lean on and have our backs to turn your back in that or refuse it is just pride... Honestly Jewel was wound soo tight and soo closed off I couldn’t find anything to like about her and all Jacob seemed to do was react to her ... I can’t recommend this book but I will gladly admit this is just my opinion , because I didn’t like either and could make it past 40% ,I hated the MC’s tooo much to continue .. I liked Asher’s book even though Sierra got in my nerves at times I really enjoyed their story but these two ? Two cats fighting in a fence would have been more fun... I just needed to get my feelings out soo I could move on.... This couple was stressing me out.... That is soo not fun in a book,I read to escape stress n ot add to it...
Falling Under by Lisa Renee Jones is book Three in the "Walker Security" series. This is the story of Jacob King and Jewel Carpenter. This is a standalone book and does not need to read in order. Jewel is a police detective following in her Uncle's shoes. But about two years ago her Uncle was killed and it made an impact on her. Jewel's father is a well off business man who is very protective of his daughter and wisher her to quit the force and go to media school. When her father starts getting letters that reference Jewel which appear to put her in danger he goes to the Walker Security Team to get help. There Royce Walker put the best man he has for the job...Jacob. Jacob is the strong silent ex-Green Beret who knows the feel of betrayal and works to keep his feelings in check as to not be hurt again. But something in Jewel is making it hard to keep himself in check along with his growing feelings. This was a very exciting hot read that I could not put down! Loved it!
Falling Under is intense with an emphasis on the thriller aspects of the plot. While the romance is an integral part of the plot it is the events which have defined the main characters identities that pack the most punch within the narrative.
Both Jacob and Jewel have experienced more loss than any one person should be acquainted with; it is these losses that have defined them. With more emotional walls than a fortress and determined to keep everyone at arm's length as to ensure they do not feel any more pain. However, it is these experiences that also allows Jacob and Jewel to connect in a profound way. Only someone with similar experiences would be able to understand the type of trauma they have endured and the necessity for emotional distance. Jacob and Jewel bond in a way no-one else would be able to (or want to).
The thriller elements have a degree of a cunning serial killer to the proceeding which ensures the reader's rapt attention at all times. While I will admit I had a suspicion as to the perpetrator; the way in which the plot played out was extremely clever and engrossing. Although there was a resolution the main elements of the plot I still feel as if there are a few loose ends I would like clarification on - mainly the connection to the losses Jewel had experienced - where they in fact tied together????
I adore the way in which the Walker Security employees form a family and provide a necessary support system for the high-risk jobs they undertake. Catching up with the characters from the previous books in the series is always a treat ♥
No, there was no need to have read the previous books. I just felt that it made for good background on the other characters that were encountered during the read. I loved the flow of this series. Each couple had been given their own platform to shine and connect. Jacob and Jewel were just the shot of excitement and adrenaline needed to make this move by. The pacing was good, and the plot was drawing.
Two strong, dominating, controlling, independent people come together under not ideal circumstances. Jacob to protect Jewel. She finds it less than complementary to her that she has a “treehouse” following her around. She feels she can protect herself. She works in a male dominated field and feels the edge slip away when daddy decides to protect his little girl. Jacob silent, deadly, fierce was so much more. He loved Jewel’s sass. He was a man of few words, but actions spoke loud and clear. Here was his chance to find more than he every expected from life. There’s just a few obstacles in the way. Not just the ones that could be seen coming. There were a few unseen.
Jewel and Jacob had an intense chemistry both hot-n-sexy and sassy banter. Their journey toward each other was full of danger, determination, suspense, sassy banter, sexy comebacks, sizzling looks, and some action and drama.
I had a few drawbacks on this read. I wanted the chase to have a steeper conclusion. I wanted the intensity that lead to it to lead to a deeper more complex resolution. Then I was wanting a bit more of some of the secondary characters. The nibbles were just that nibbles. I wanted a bit. Jacob could have had more to him, but the strong, sexy, silent protector worked very well.
I found nothing that turned me off about the read and fully intend on reading the entire series all together on an upcoming weekend. That way I can get a full Walker Security fix.
Falling Under takes us back to the men of Walker Security and the excitement their stories bring. After meeting Jacob in Pulled Under, I was intrigued. The strong, silent, brooding type, I had to know more. Jones never fails to deliver an entertaining and enthralling story.
These two characters took us for a ride. Stubborn, hard headed, and intense, Jacob and Jewel struggled to see eye to eye. The push and pull of their relationship was sexy and I was eager to see them cave. At first, Jewel’s refusal to take her situation seriously and accept help was frustrating but as the story progressed, we were shown a more vulnerable side. Brave, driven, and relentless, they are both top in their fields. Getting to see them in their element was exciting. The mystery was intriguing and a bit of a slow burn. I was hoping for a little more action but the suspense and anticipation made up for that.
I have loved all of the books in this series and I’m sad that it has come to an end. I know that I’ll be blown away by whatever Jones releases next, I’m already obsessed with Lilah Love, but it’s always bittersweet when a series comes to an end. I’ve come to love the characters in this series and I’m hoping we’ll see them pop up again in other series.
2018has brought so much excitement when it comes to books for me. Among the authors i've read so far and even in the past, Lisa Renee Jones is just that author that keeps delivering each and every time that she publishes a book. She's become one of the very few authors that i'll automatically one click to get my hands on her books, sight unseen. No matter how many books she writes, or series she creates, they're all different from one another, and at the same time, if you look deep enough, there's a link between each of them somehow.
With her latest release, Falling Under, brings us right back to Jacob, whom we've seen a few times so far, but the quiet, hulking (and stalkerish according to Jewel) man was always such a mystery. I loved getting to know him. To finally get to know what's in his mind. To get to meet his demons and compare them to the others and maybe to a few of my own. Most of all, i loved getting back to the Walker Security and the family that keeps growing. Every time that i get a new story, it's the kind that drags me down and makes me pay attention.
One thing is for sure, i look forward to finding out what else this author has in store for her readers and i'm curious to find out if we get to have the rest of the Walker crew's stories as well!
Jacob King is a stone faced, hard and sexy man who works for the Walker clan. He’s an ex-Green Beret with secrets he keeps hidden from everyone. He doesn’t get close to anyone, never has relationships and never, ever falls in love. Asher calls him ‘the Tin Man’ and with good reason but one look at Jewel Carpenter and everything he knows about himself and the world he inhabits, flies out the window. Jewel is a homicide detective who deals with death and murderers every day. She doesn’t take shit from anyone, she strong-willed and gives as good as she gets, she keeps the outside world at arms length, she works best, deals with her job best, by being alone. But, when her father receives numerous threatening notes directed at Jewel, he hires Walker security to help guard safeguard her life. The man tasked with this job is Jacob. Jewel refuses to believe her life is in danger, refuses to have Jacob around her. Her dad insists and soon Jewel can’t take a step without the tough, hard-bodied and too sexy for her comfort, ex-military man behind her. Jewel has a killer to catch, but it soon becomes apparent that she has a stalker too. When the threats become all too real, Jewel has to face up to reality, someone has been killing people close to her. But, why? There’s a lot of twists and turns to this story, the attraction between Jewel and Jacob is hot and intense but they both fight it for a long time. This is a slow burning romance in the length of chapters that it takes before they even kiss. The story is very fast paced though as there is a ton of stuff happening. Between her homicide work, Jewel works on cold cases, just like her Uncle used to do before he was murdered. The cold cases, lead her into even more danger and direct conflict with Jacob. Jacob doesn’t understand how or why this particular woman is messing with his head. She just is. Everything about her draws him like a moth to a flame. He wants to be burned, and he can’t help himself, even though being with him will end with Jewel getting hurt or disappointed. He’s not meant for HEA’s and that’s not likely to change. But can it? Can these two stubborn, determined people allow their hangups to fall away and let true love conquer? Gosh, I loved Jacob. He was tough as nails, hard in all the right places, but when it came to Jewel, he’d readily take a bullet for her. He’s hot, sexy and sin and built. Can I just say??? Holy hell, Batman. A 12 pack abs. Can you even imagine that?? Wipes drool from chin. 5 green beret stars for this spectacular finish to the Walker Brothers spin-off series.
EEEEk! This book was SO thrilling to read. It was the perfect blend of OMG WHO IS THE BAD GUY, and OMG ARE THEY FINALLY GOING TO EXPLODE FROM THIS SEXUAL TENSION.
Yes. I loved it. I used the shouty caps. I HAD TO guys. It was so much fun.
Jewel and Jacob were a riot when they got going with each there and throwing in the hunt for a stalker and it was a blast. I loved the fact that not only did we watch two people fall in love, but we got to watch them do it in a protector/detective situation. If you haven't read any of this series, you CAN read it as a standalone, but you totally shouldn't. This series is fantastic. I love getting to experience the love while also having the chaos of potential wrongs happening. It is super fun.
I also just finished Lisa's upcoming Novel Murder Notes, and if you LOVED this series, that one id going to be a TOP read for 2018 for you. Overall Stars: 4/5 Naughty Level: 3/5 POV: Dual/1st person
A straight up mystery and suspense through and through. Jewel and Jacob had a high powered story.
Both Jewel and Jacob were extreme control freaks; which caused lots of friction...resulting in some seriously worded foreplay between them. Their attraction was very intense and Jewel was the one most reluctant to accept it. She’s spent her whole life on a mission of putting the bad guys away and felt doing so alone was the only way to avoid mistakes and get that job done. But having been given no other choice, Jacob is her shadow and the Walker Security Team is now involved, she’s not too keen to open it up for mistakes and mishaps. He trust circle is small and adding this group of people is WAY outside her comfort zone.
Jacob is well equipped to do what is necessary to protect his charge and can do so without being seen. But he’s just as stubborn as Jewel and feels keeping her in is his presence is the only way to ensure her safety and keep her near him. He’s attracted to her beauty, professionalism and the way she manages to maintain control; even when he can tell she’s having a hard time of it.
The two of them were truly made for each other. Their banter was worded, long winded and almost hypnotic. They spoke to each other in away the only the other could truly understand. It was amazing.
Dislikes:reasons a 5 wasn’t given * I don’t understand why it was necessary to mention/remind the reader that Jacob was a green beret at least twice in every chapter. His skills were impressive and made perfectly clear in the beginning, so I don’t understand why it was brought up all the time. For me, it got a bit annoying.
* The villain- the author did an outstanding job of keeping me off his scent. It wasn’t a character I expected. However, in doing so I didn’t feel there was enough background to his story to clearly and truly explain his reasons for being the bad guy. His motives weren’t clear to me and It left me with questions of “WHY”. I didn’t feel the 100% closure from the HEA in this book as I did with the others in the series and in Lisa Renee Jones’ previous work.
Falling Under is another amazing Thriller Romance taking place at Walker Security.
Jacob is ex special operations and now part of the Walker team. He is compared to a robot. He has a permanent poker face and never shows emotions. Until now!
Jewel doesn't allow anyone to get close to her to avoid pain. Everyone she loves die. She is pretty fearless and taking down bad guys is her main interest.
Being self sufficient, Jewel doesn't welcome the idea of having Jacob as her shadow. She is receiving threatening messages and his job is to protect her. Something he excels at. Although, she has no choice in the matter, she doesn't intend to make it easy for him as she thinks that he is too pompous. Here begins the battle of wits! They are two of a kind.
Despite their disagreements and what could be perceived as hate, there is an unquestionable connection between them. They both try to resist, but it's futile. It's far too strong and they eventually give in. What happens between them is explosive. In the meantime, the threats become more worrying and not knowing the source is unsettling. They have to be vigilant at all times and each time they think they are getting somewhere, something else materialises. To complicate matters, Jewel's past catches up with him and more danger is afoot. Their relationship is put to the test and it's either make or break!
This complex story is full of surprises. The plot is intricately and cleverly carved. The characters are well portrayed. It's thrilling, hot, passionate and romantic. I absolutely love Jacob and Jewel. As usual, the Walker Clan delivers and leaves me wanting to see more of them. Exceptional!
I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.
Title: Falling Under Author: Lisa Renee Jones Series: Walker Security #3 (can standalone) Genre: romantic suspense, crime Heat: 3/5 Rating: 4/5
Another of Lisa Renee Jones' wonderful romantic suspenses, with a twist of the psychological thriller in there for added measure.
This was a slightly shorter read from Jones, and a standalone, so a little different to what I'm accustomed to (her Dirty Money series being the most recent, but she is very much known for her series, layering intrigue). I wasn't disappointed—there was enough detail and complexities to the characters to keep me wanting more, with the usual thick chemistry this time woven into a hate/love / enemies-to-lovers theme. With the perfect balance of sex to action (sometimes a sticking point for me with this author), I found myself invested in the story, pulled in my the mystery and the developing relationship between hard-as-nails detective Jewels and green beret alpha Jacob.
With twists and turns and a supporting cast to please readers who have invested in this series, this read is sure to please fans of Lisa Renee Jones, as well as being light enough on the intrigue to ease new readers in.
A great book to get stuck into on a cold winter's day.
I was sure I was going to love Jacob King when I met him in the last book but I didn't realize how much I was going to love him until I got to know him in this one. There is something about a quiet, hard, ex-green beret who will literally take a bullet to save your life. That is something a homicide detective who catches killers for a living and now has someone focused on her is not finding easy to live with. These two together is something else. They both demand control. Control of themselves, their lives, and those around them. They are put together when Jewel's dad hires the Walker Security Agency because of threats and Jacob is assigned to her. Sparks fly from the beginning but there is something about these two that clicks and sparks lead to smoke and chemistry and combustible fun. Twists and turns and danger abounds and I could not turn the pages fast enough. This was a fast read and a fun read and definitely recommend this one. This could be read as a standalone if you really wanted to and not be lost a bit.
Intense and suspenseful from page one to the last one. This author has a penchant for suspense and it shows in her increasingly concentrated plots that deal with crime, the law, and complex characters with complex lives.
The female lead in this novel is a police detective with too many personal losses on her back. She is extremely competent and honourable, so having to accommodate a constant shadow in the shape of a bodyguard that will push all her limits and rules is quite a challenge for her. That's one of the features in the heated relationship that erupts between Jewel and Jacob. They challenge each other's will, control, with and emotions. It's a demanding battle that translates into clever, fired-up dialogues and scenes laden with provocative verbal duels, highly professional surveillance, a double investigation on criminals of the worst kind, and a chemistry that seeps through the words into the readers' unwavering attention.
I really enjoyed their verbal sparring and clash of wits. while they struggle with their issues as they have to work together, she with trust and he being too pushy, they conduct an investigation on two cases. One of them, I thing was fascinatingly puzzling but resolved a bit underwhelmingly as the culprit yielded with no real sweat. Though the personal issue with Jacob's past was dramatic and extended the climax of the plot with great results.
Fantastic suspense and hot romance. Not to be missed.
Jacob and a Jewel bring a lot to this series and I couldn’t stop reading this from the get go. Their back and forth banter had me going along with them. What I loved most was their vulnerability and how real hard yet easy it was to let their guard down. The attitude of not needing each other was futile, can’t stop it no matter how hard they try.
“I don’t want to need anyone. She doesn’t want to need anyone, and yet, here we are. Here I am and holy hell, I can’t stop it from happening”
I enjoyed the secondary characters just as much. They brought a lot to the table but didn’t overshadow the main characters.
I can’t wait to read more! Definitely want me some of Savage!
Reviewed on Behalf of http://bookaddict.live, As always it is a treat to read one of Lisa’s books, and Falling Under was no exception. We have a former stone cold assassin working for Walker Security called Jacob who to others shows no emotions. Our heroine is a police detective who has lost everyone close to her apart from her father, who has Walker Security working for him during a difficult time and needs his daughter protected. Jewel is a kick ass heroine with plenty of Intelligence and fire, and is assigned Jacob as her bodyguard. What you then have is giant sparks between them while trying to solve a big case together. What follows is plenty of action and suspense in and out of the bedroom. This series of books are completely standalones no cliffhangers. As I come to the end of the book I’m always want more so hurry up Poison Kisses.
Jacob is not one for messing around or beating around the bush, “we had a deal. I’m your one-on-one protection. That means I stay with you. That means I sleep here with you.” I love that Jacob has a bossy attitude, “it was my professional assessment that we should kiss.” The man is just so bossy, “pack a bag,” he repeats. “You’re coming with me. End of conversation.” I loved this book, I fell in love with Jacob, his woman was always getting a rise out of him and it was entertaining to see his reactions.
5 FALLING UNDER STARS!! OMG, this story had me on the edge of my seat all the way through. I love the Walker Security series they are always fast paced, full of suspense, great characters and hot chemistry. Jacob and Jewel were fantastic to watch there story unfold, they will keep you turning pages. This is one book you will want to read and Don't forget about the series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
An epicly good addition to the Walker Security series, Falling Under is no boring romance. Filled with action from the start I LOVED this suspenseful romance!
Jacob & Walker Security have been tasked with protecting Jewel from a threat they can't figure out/ A mysterious stalker ha been sending threats and now he's leaving gifts right at her doorstep. Right away I loved Jewel's character. She's a bad-ass detective and stands firm in her beliefs to help save others even at the risk of herself. Jacob is just so smokin' hot and the sparks that fly between these two are magnetic! The fighting and the sexual tension is so strong you can feel it seep through the pages in to your mind. That kind of tension and hot action after a fight just leads to to sexy reading!
Amidst the tension there's also a sense of sadness with both Jacob and Jewel. They each have a past marred by death though in different ways. Having them trudge through their emotions on how the other is willing to risk their life was anew twist. The sex and the feelings for one another is undeniable and obvious to them; it's getting over one another's inability to stay behind that they both struggle with. With nonstop mysteries from Jacob's mysterious Green Beret past to Jewel's cold case and current murder case; these two have more than just a strange stalker to figure out.
