After completing make-up artistry school, Riley was lucky enough to immediately land a job in show biz. The only drawback? It’s part-time.
Living in Los Angeles, she is having difficulty making ends meet, that is until her boss, Gemma, offers her the chance of a lifetime. A full time position. Excellent pay, benefits and she would still be doing make-up. The catch? It’s in the porn industry.
Riley accepts, thinking ‘They’re just actors, how bad can it be?’. On her first day she is introduced to Blake, aka Beau King, Gemma’s shining star. There is an undeniable attraction between the two of them, but there’s no way in hell she could ever date a porn star. Or could she?

I didn’t feel the connection or chemistry between the two main characters or really care about either one. It didn’t gel that Riley had feelings for Blake but it didn’t seem to phase her at all seeing him have sex with women in front of her. And then he’s an ass and she grovels, even though she did nothing wrong. Eh.
Great debut novel! If I didn’t have a toddler, and a full time job I would have finished it in one sitting. I’m not sure if the concept has ever been thought to write about the porn industry quite like this, but what a fabulous idea! Loved it! Loved the characters. Loved the setting. Loved the dialogue. And man are there some knee slappers in here that completely caught me off guard and had me laughing for days afterwards. But mostly I loved the story line, and the characters journey through it. They had a lot of learning to do, facing fears, and loved how the author sucked me into caring. And let’s not even get into the sex scenes….Okay maybe a little. They were steamy! And I write this kind of shit in my own books. You know when you get sucked in, you feel the heat in your cheeks, get a little tingly in places unmentionable, and you’ll be a complete raging monster if someone pulls you out of the scene until it’s done? NO, well you’ll experience that then. Overall: A great read!
It’s always so weird to me when a book has a character with the same name as the author’s. Like, wtf are you actually saying with that? Is this supposed to be a personal tell all account or what? I can’t believe it’s not been mentioned by another reviewer.
I just can’t believe the h is a virgin and is so into him yet doesn’t seem to care that he fucks OW in front of her. It actually ends without him quitting porn. This book, literally, as no closure. No real conclusion/resolution for an ending, it just ends.
I love this trope...done well it’s awesome, and there are a few. But like this one, when the novel doesn’t deal with the reality of what it means to be a pornstar...there’s no resolution or redeemability and it just tanks. The last 20% is whiplash of: this happened, then this happened, then that happened...ridiculous. Then there’s a massive info dump at 95% to explain away all the H’s BS, so heavy handed I groaned at the absurdity. This started out well enough but it just failed to deliver.
Scene deets Mia - sex on page w/ h present Jessa - sex off page w/o h present Mia - on page no sex, H directs scene Brianna - sex on page w/ h present First time H is uncomfortable w/ h at work Evie - sex on page w/ h present First date - H cooks dinner Work trip - H/h kiss @ 63% H puts on the brakes @64% H pops her cherry @ 74% and didn’t notice He ditches her the morning after Acts surprised she avoids him after that Olivia - sex on page w/ h present Asks out OW to hurt h cuz he’d an idiot h goes home for a few days (5% of book!! That goes NOWHERE!?!? And no worries that he’s a pornstar just that he took her virginity and didn’t notice?!?!?) H finds out h was a virgin, fucks OW again Jessa - sex on page w/ h present Sexy times w/ H/h and I’m out...
This book was so boring. I was hoping for some angst but there wasn’t any. Just lots of telling, not much showing, characters were so flat and under developed. The h was painted in such an unrealistic light—there is no way that any normal woman could casually watch the guy she loves have sex with other women. Nope nope nope. The flatness of the characters kept me from caring about the h watching. This is not a feels book at all- more like Dick and Jane meets lukewarm porn. I started skimming. If you want a boring lukewarm lust story, this one is for you. Watching my husband clip his toe nails is hotter than this book.
