Snapdragon, previously called RoadKill Witch, Is about a little girl, whos names is Snapdragon, who people call snap, starts off the book looking for her dog Goodbye, also known as G.B. ,who she got in the breakup of her mom and her boyfriend, is found in the so called "witches house" with a leg missing. Once recovered, the "witch" comes bout saying that it ate the dog, which then makes Snap confront it saying "Witches aren't real." This makes the Witch explain the story, saying the dog got its leg run over, and then seeing Snap go home. This one part in the book explains it all. It's a meeting of two people who would become friends, it Showed how brave Snap was, and it also showed the type of work these friends would do, and because of this work, which was recovering dead animals, letting their flesh rot and be eaten, and then later make these bones into images of them standing, sitting, laying down and more, and then as I said before, Snap discovered that after this, that they could see their soul, proving others right in the fact that the "witch" was real. She started asking questions like, "Can you fly, can you do other magic," or "Are you evil." Answers were given, and Snap was amazed. Time went by until Halloween, which Snap has been trying to practice using this magic, to the point where she uses a stick, which to the witch was a no no, saying objects are unnecessary. She as super excited, so she went to the witches house, and they sat on a bench and they talked before spilling the news, but out of no where, they start flying in the sky, Snap thought this was the moment, so she used he magic on the car, but instead of making it fly, t almost made it crash, but because of this, she learned. Till one day where G.B.'s previous owner came into her house trying to steal him back, she had enough, that's when the witch, who I for got to say name's was Jacks, sent away a viscous monster, who was actually a fox, to help, while Jacks went to pick up snaps mom for help. But once they arrive, Snap breaks the news of her magic to her mom by throwing her ex to the ground, which freaks him about leaving his two other dogs to also stay with Snap, making this an unexpected ending, but the book was great. From the action, to the magic, to the plot twists, making it a perfect book for many reasons, so if you like a semi-realistic, emphasize on the semi, realistic book with some action, this is the book for you.

Spooky, sweet, and featuring a ton of positive rep. This book is amazing! The colors were bright and the illustrations were absolutely adorable. It was a fairly simple story, but it was unique and engaging. I don’t think Leyh needs to make a sequel, but I wouldn’t object to reading about these characters again.
