A great pulp read. I've been a fan of the Alien franchise for almost as long as I can remember, and these books are my guilty pleasure. While this Omnibus collection still doesn't top Volume One, it is an entertaining read. Original Sin was a good story which has promise but fails to really delve into any serious character development. Imagine watching Alien Resurrection and then watching a straight to TV film which gives those characters another story. No new ground or changes but an enjoyable adventure to read which falls nicely in the Alien Pulp range. DNA War was also enjoyable if a little flawed, the prose is sometimes directly from our main characters viewpoint, or 3rd person. Jumping between the two is a little jarring however no great turnoff for the good story however could have been delivered with more subtlety. While the first book has very little in the way of spelling or grammar mistakes DNA War had a few more, it didn't stop me from reading however I was aware that I had encountered a few and perhaps needed a stronger proof reader prior to release Overall Volume Five was enjoyable enough to keep me reading, however being a fan of the Alien franchise will certainly help!
