February 1, 2018"The elements involving the main story arc of an imposter in town have tied Rich Rancher’s Redemption neatly with others in the series, and kudos to Maureen Child for the creativity and forward planning needed to create so many interesting threads to savor. As each character is introduced, the reader is treated to an endless amount of speculation while trying to deduce how it will all fit into the established community of Royal, Texas, and the Texas Cattleman’s Club. Jillian is a strong woman with a kind heart and her daughter is cute as pie. Together they’ve managed to snag the heart of a man known for his take-charge attitude. The overall romance is a slow starter, but Jesse and Jillian build a relationship that’s complex and passionate, while also showing the realities of parenthood" (4 stars @ RT Book Reviews).

As I mentioned in my review of The Rancher’s Baby, I haven’t read any of these multi-author series before. I knew going in I would most likely enjoy that first book since it is by a favorite author of mine, but I was nervous about this second book since it’s by a new-to-me author. I’m happy to say that I really enjoyed her writing and I’m now hoping to read more of her work.
This part of the larger Imposter story deals with a woman, Jillian, who had the imposter’s baby and the fallout from that. While Jillian doesn’t have much, when she found out there was an inheritance she would be getting she packed up her daughter and moved from Las Vegas to Texas to, hopefully, start a new and better life for her and her daughter. If you read the first book, you know that is not what is meant to be.
Jesse has always taken the job of being the oldest seriously. First when his dad died, then when his step-dad died. He has always felt the responsibility of making sure his siblings and his mom were taken care of no matter what. Unfortunately, a terrible accident leads him to believe he owes his sister and nephew even more than the regular duty he felt to them before. He won’t allow himself to find his own happiness as he feels he doesn’t deserve it after the accident.

When wealthy (rancher) Jesse Navarro meets single mom Jillian Norris, she makes him feel…everything. She arrives in town for his brother’s funeral to receive a settlement for her daughter, only to find the entire relationship she had was a hoax. He’s carrying the guilt of a past tragedy, blaming himself for his brother-in-law’s death, and knows he can’t take her for his own. Still, denying their sizzling attraction and ignoring Jillian—vulnerable and dedicated to her little girl Mackenzie—isn’t an option. Already Jesse’s defenses are weakening…

Ranchers Redemption is apart of a series of books but is ok as a standalone. There are several side stories leading into the next books all of which sound interesting but it can get a little confusing in certain areas. Just push through and itll pass. Jesse is a grumpy cowboy filled with regrets and guilt and feels like finding love could never happen because it would betray his family. Jillian was tricked by her last boyfriend and then abandoned when she was pregnant so shes not completely trusting of men at the moment. It's a cute little story that is full of sweet moments and some serious heat. I really enjoyed this quick read.

Jesse has promised to be there for his sister and her son Brody after his brother in laws tragic death and is hounded by guilt and allows the promise to himself to not allow love, marriage or his own family to get in the way of that promise. However Jillian and Mackenzie have him twisted up with desire and wanting but he is in denial. Loved the hints of future stories of Will and Megan's and other characters

Absolutely breathtaking
I swear Maureen Child is so talented and I vow to never stop reading her books. This is another perfectly constructed novel that I would never mind reading over and over again.

Another wonderful book in this series.
Maureen Child writes stories about romance and family that capture your interest and never lets go until the end. I have read and enjoyed all the Texas Cattleman Club books and highly recommend them.

I thought the plot was hurried and the characters underdeveloped. I liked Jesse, the leading male character but thought the author needed to develop the relationship between him and Jillian before the sex scenes started.

Great story. Jesse and Jillian were such believable characters, was immediately drawn right in to their complex lives.
The continuity of finding the Impostor - can't wait for the next book!
