Robbie Bowman is a U.S. Army veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan troubled by guilt and sorrow. He is looking for his missing sister, the only family he has left, and for redemption and peace. Bowman finds himself in a small town in New Mexico, where he is arrested for a brutal double murder, which triggers chilling memories of other deaths for which he feels responsible. Circumstance and his guilty conscience drive him to take on those responsible for the murders. His survival skills and combat prowess will be tested as he finds himself in a mortal struggle with vicious drug traffickers and their allies. But not all of the good guys are blameless, and not all of the bad guys are evil. He must use his judgment as well as his fighting skills.
I grew up on a dairy farm in northern New York State, then got my undergraduate degree at Cornell University and a law degree at New York University School of Law.
After practicing law for thirty years, primarily in New York City, I decided to try something else. Part of that something else was writing my first novel, Call It Even. Always an avid reader, I've wanted to write a book for as long as I can remember. So this is a bucket list item for me. If it is well received I'll keep at it. If not, well, I've lost nothing but my time.
If you haven't read my book, please do. If you have, please leave a review. I appreciate the feedback and take them all seriously. I'm new at this, and still learning.
The plot is not overly complicated, but it keeps your interest. I hope the author writes more about Bowman, or others like him. I found his writing realistic.
A routine story that you might have read few times .But what the exception is the style of written. Fast paced . Simple language. Enough actions with little bit romance flavour.
A light read which you could use to pass the time while travels or waiting in the lobby to await for some body Ethiraj
Ex army solider finds life after active duty in special forces.
Trying to find his older sister who he had not seen several years has stoped in a small town in New Mexico and runs into a lot of trouble with the local law. Things get out of hand, but proved he is insent of the the murder charges. Fast action story well worth reading.
Bowman is a Army vet walking across the country to find his sister. Guilt for duties in the Army, his lack of a permanent address make him a prime suspect for a crime in New Mexico. His love for his country demands his assistance in solving this crime. I read this book in one sitting and couldn't put it down. I rate this a 5.1
As a writer I know how hard it is to find your stride in your writing style. You wrote this one very well and it kept me wanting to read the next paragraph before I could set it down. The next paragraph only left me wanting to read the following paragraphs. No superhumans just regular people doing what they could. Even the a guy was human. Excellent book.
The author and editor need a session, or sessions to brutally edit this work! The plot, the MC and supporting cast need serious work! Far too many jumps, changes and crises. Which keeps the reader thoroughly confused! I would NOT recommend this work in its current form!
I finished this book in 8 hours of non-stop reading. I couldn't put it down. As a vet, the story some to me since I don't have a relationship with my sister and I've lost my mother as well. Very well written. I look forward to a couple of more books to complete a story arc. Bravo, Mr. Markham. Good job on your first novel.
As our hero goes across the country looking for his sister, he is picked up and questioned about a murder. He does get released and continues his travel thru the desert only to come across something suspicious. He hears gunshots and sees a man get shot. I know that's a little cryptic, but I don't want to say too much about the book. This is a pretty good story.
Good story, some faulty writing styles, worth the purchase .author should use more conjunctions such as I've instead of I have. That's how people normally speak. Still very readable.
This is an exciting and fun read. Edwin Markham brings the story to life with good characters and an interesting story. Wish it could have gone on by all stories have to end. Great read, you will enjoy it.
This is the best book I’ve read in months, if not years. Action, good characters, interesting locations, enlightening background information and history. Looking forward to your next book!
This well written novel is an easy read. The storyline is plausible, well thought-out and captivating. I hope Markham writes a few more with this character.
I loved this story. It is well written. The author did a good job developing the characters. Good story line. I'd definitely look for other stories by this author.
