Rate this book
Struggling to “let go” of frustrations or stop rehashing events? Is too much time spent over-thinking? Does it take too long to make decisions or meet personal goals? These obstacles can cause procrastination or block the flow of positive energy. Certified life coach, longtime health care professional, and cancer survivor, Virginia Ritterbusch, lived with anxiety from a trauma experienced very early in life. Tired of fear and doubt, she began researching self-help strategies. She also sought the guidance of a counselor where she learned the professionally proven technique of NLP (neurolinguistic programing). The NLP reframing technique triggered her journey for understanding and working with fears that created obstacles in her life.NLP expands and alters how you view a situation. TURNING PROBLEMS INTO OPPORTUNITIES is demonstrated throughout REFRAME YOUR VIEWPOINTS. Plus, reframing allows the results to be measured and quantified. In addition, Virginia presents eight strategies for handling anxiety that expand NLP holistically and support its practice in self-management. She shows how these simple strategies can be worked comfortably in to already established daily routines—making habit building of the strategies and the regular use of reframing very doable. REFRAMING is quick to learn. Practice makes it a habit! In Reframe Your Viewpoints, you’ll read about:

Originally, I assumed Reframe Your Viewpoints was going to be another of those self-help books that you speed read, feel inspired for a few days, and never open again. Boy, was I mistaken! Turns out it's a well written, scholarly book with meaty exercises and lots of examples to add interest and clarity. This one is going to stay downloaded on my Kindle so I can refer to it often and apply the very useful reframing techniques.

My favorites were "Chapter 9: Reframing—How Do You Get Some?" and "Chapter 10: The Nitty-Gritty of Reframing Techniques." Chapter 9 features an account of the author's cancer diagnosis and treatment with examples of how she applied her favorite variation of reframing (and mine)—The Back-Door Approach. The Spa Reframing Technique was the highlight of Chapter 10 for me. Simple and effective, and there are many more.

Every chapter contains valuable information, AND the reader receives free extras (an SPA reframing template and exercises included in the Supplemental Information and Workbook Packet). I highly recommend this book!

Reframe Yourself for Success in Life and Business

'Reframe Your Viewpoints' is a great read for Solopreneurs struggling with going from employee to employer and from dreamer to business owner. Developing the ability to transform difficult moments and disappointment into opportunities of success is what most of us lack or are unable to do and this leads to our failure.

Virginia offers various approaches to combating the pitfalls of change and I particularly connect with hiding within my comfort zone - mainly to avoid the unknown. "Our comfort zones do not promote growth -- they maintain
stagnation." This continues to be a common staple in business and life for most of us, especially in the Solopreneur community.

'Reframe Your Viewpoints' is a definite must-have for Solopreneurs and anyone struggling to change the unwanted moments in their lives. Please make this a gift to yourself (or someone else you know is struggling with stagnation); you'll be happy you did.

I found this book very helpful and encouraging. The author gives us the theoretical concept of reframing, as well as providing us with some concrete examples and steps on how to apply this to real life. In addition, she provides other important tools such as meditation and her own "SPA" method to help us deal with anxiety and stress.
The book is meaty and it will take you awhile to get through it. It's best to read one chapter at a time and try to implement the ideas into your life one step at a time.
I loved the examples she uses to portray her points. In one chapter she talks about the neighbor's dog pooping in your yard. How do you handle it? I loved that—such practical and wise advice.
Although I was familiar with the concept of reframing, I discovered that there is still much to learn and apply to my own life. This is both a professional and self-help book—useful for both.

One of many audible and paper and kindle books all saying the same thing that the people who started Cognitive Behavioral Therapy did in the 1960-70's.

Our sub-conscious has one viewpoint: our experiences turned into fortune telling fear...(Have you watched the news in the last 50 years....FEAR...FEAR...FEAR....& WEATHER)

They all say to step back...call someone objective...right down the likihood of this being true....My favorite 2 tools are:

1. Try to write down the top 3 things you were obsessing about last Wednesday...betcha can't...so???
2. Notice how many times in this week, month, year and lifetime you've had the same thought. How many times did it come true? Zero for 1,000,000 or so. Good chance you're heading to 1,000,001
