This one was great and only LG can take a tatted up former biker and make him the uber Alpha Billionaire HP H and actually make that work.

LG shows off her mad HP skillz here as this book does all the things an HP is supposed to do. She keeps it current, she uses real world social and romance trends and she still sparkles in that special HP kinda way as she takes the HP Lady Buffet Loving Alpha and turns him into a great H and dad, with a few mess ups along the way. The h, Freddie, is the prefect blend of sweet, but strong HP h and the two of them together are adorable.

As the epitome of what an HP should be in terms of plot, characters and real world touchstones, this one is on the required reading list.

Freddie was having a dream about a man with eyes the colour of crushed ice, a wealth of silky blue-black hair and a full sensual mouth.

And Lynne Graham won me over with the silky blue-black hair part ! The eyes the colour of crushed ice part were a huge bonus, which reminded me that I really ought to take some time and watch The Sting again since the sexy, late Paul Newman is the king of all guys with sexy icy light blue eyes.

OK back to this review...

I admit that I had been very skeptical about the H of this novel. I hadn't liked him much when he had been introduced in The Secret Valtinos Baby and I came close to despising him after a certain incident ( or what I thought had been an incident ) in Castiglione's Pregnant Princess. However, Lynne G did her usual magic and Zac was transformed into a hero that I not only liked, but could empathize with ( to some extent ). He's the type of guy who doesn't get involved in relationships of any kind, because relationships usually signal doom and doom is something he's had enough of after the way his uncaring mother Antonella had treated him. Antonella's husband had hated Zac and had made the woman choose between him and her own son; the obsessed woman had chosen her controlling husband and the H had been sent off to a remote Brazilian ranch where he was raised by servants. He only actually met his biological father Charles, and his 2 half brothers, a year or so before the story starts. He's also utterly sexy in a very earthy and rugged manner, with his longer hair and his casual dress code:

description

description

He's a bit rough around the edges and crude; this had led to a rather disastrous encounter with the heroine when he had propositioned her in public and been rudely rebuffed. Freddie's the only woman who hasn't fallen at his feet and thanked God that she's lucky he asked her to sleep with him ! She's got too many responsibilities and worries of her own to add 6ft 4 inches of hunky man trouble to her life. Her drug addict sister died and left her with a 3 yr old niece ( Eloise ) and a 10 month old nephew ( Jack ). Zac's very attracted to her and can't understand why he finds her so compelling:

Zac only knew that he had never wanted a woman with such instantaneous lust. Lust at first glance, he conceded grimly, thinking it ironic that out of all the many women who wanted him back his libido had had to focus on one who not only did not want him, but also actively appeared to dislike him.

description

The MC's are brought together in a marriage of convenience, because the H needs an heir in order to meet the terms of his great grandfather's will and Freddie will lose custody of her late sister's kids unless she can prove she's able to care for them properly. Much of the angst in the story is caused by Zac's closed off attitude and his refusal to allow the heroine to get close to him. His 2 pronged motto is Never apologize, never explain and Practicality not sentiment. One needs to read the novel to understand, fully, why this guy has such horrible demons in his past that have led him to live by this code. The MC's share an intense sexual chemistry ( even before they've consummated their relationship ), but this doesn't help with the first major obstacle in their lives as a couple occurs before they're married. Freddie overhears Merry ( the heroine from The Secret Valtinos Baby ) talking about a threesome that Zac had had with 2 skanky bimbos at the royal ball ( held in Castiglione's Pregnant Princess ). The heroine is obviously and understandably fuming with rage, since this is supposed to have occurred a mere 2 weeks after he had been trying to get her to go out with him. I have been waiting impatiently since Castiglione's Pregnant Princess to get the answers to that question. It turned out that Zac didn't have a threesome with the 2 women and we get this information directly from the H's own thoughts. However, Zac is a proud and stubborn asshole who feels that he doesn't have to answer to his fiancee since they hadn't been involved during that time:

Zac put the evidence together and within seconds he had the whole picture clear in his mind. Vitale’s wife, Jazz, had probably gossiped to Merry and then Merry had talked and somehow Freddie had got to listen. His macho pride had been his downfall, he registered, his teeth gritting. Losing the bet, not even being able to persuade Freddie to join him at the ball, had hit his ego hard and when his brothers had assumed he was partaking of a little al fresco sex, he had seen no reason to put the record straight.

This arrogant sexy bastard waits until the very end of the novel to finally admit to Freddie that he hadn't had a threesome:

‘I have one more confession to make,’ Zac declared abruptly, resting back from her and withdrawing his caressing hand. ‘And I should’ve made it months ago when you confronted me about it.’

‘The two women at the royal ball?’ Freddie exclaimed, frowning. ‘I don’t want to talk about that ever. It was your lowest moment.’

Zac winced. ‘Even if nothing happened?’

‘Nothing?’ Freddie looked at him in open disbelief.

‘I saved face at the expense of your feelings,’ Zac admitted guiltily. ‘Nothing happened because I didn’t want either of them. I only wanted you and I only get turned on by you. I was too proud to tell you that at the time but I hurt you and I’m sorry for it.’

Zac was a bit of a complex H. He's like a sad little boy living inside a tough adult's body and he's afraid to let people get close to him. This caused him to mess up quite a bit and he even got drunk on their wedding day and ruined the reception, the first dance and the cutting of the wedding cake ! If my husband had done that, I'd have poured Harold Mongrelpup's urine on him ! ( just kidding; I have no idea how I would've collected pee from my wicked little dog. Lol. ). But Zac does grovel like a champion in the end ! He also puts one and one together and devises the correct answer, by recognizing that the heroine had been putting on a brave front when she pretended that she was fine with their separation. That's something that H's in HPlandia almost never accomplish. He rushes over to their country manor and he begs her to forgive him:

description

I liked Zac's relationship with Freddie's niece and nephew. He was a warm and loving father figure to them. In fact, one of my favourite parts of the story is when he is putting little Jack to sleep and says:

‘He feels like he’s mine even though I know he’s not,’ Zac said softly. ‘And it doesn’t matter that he’s not.’

I know exactly what he means: that's how I feel about everybody else's dog ! Lol.

Ok, seriously now: I enjoyed this a lot, even though Zac annoyed me at times. I did prefer the heroine because she was a selfless and loving character who tried to understand the stubborn H, but wasn't a spineless passive woman who allowed anyone to walk all over her. Life had been extremely difficult for her but she was a tough young woman with the ability to speak her mind and fight for her rights. And, she managed to accomplish all this while still being soft and feminine. I love heroines who are strong where it counts but still delicate and feminine. I've ( personally ) had enough of the shrieking harpies and shrews that I sometimes encounter in HPlandia. This was a lovely ending to a great trio of novels in this series. Before I go, I have to say that my favourite H in this series is Vitale from Castiglione's Pregnant Princess. Vitale is everything I like most about a guy: he's debonair and polished with lots of class and he's a major hunk as well. I always tend to favour the guys who are bit more superficially refined. The "bad boys", like Zac, with their rough edges, their bikes and tattoos are sexy as hell but they're not my personal preference. As far as the women are concerned, I think my favourite heroine in this series is Freddie from this novel. The epilogue is beautiful because it ties in characters from all 3 novels in the series and we're told that the MC's in this book have an infant daughter. And it's great that the H's dad Charles finds his happiness with Sybil. That poor man had had such bad luck with the ladies in his life: Angel's mom was a slutty narcissist, Vitale's mom was a lesbian in the closet and Zac's mom was a neurotic obsessive.

It was a wonderful ending to a very romantic series and the author wrapped everything up in a cute and sweet manner:

Echoing all the other positive reviews. This was an entertaining marriage of convenience story between a waitress heroine who wants custody of her niece and nephew and a billionaire bad boy hero who must marry and produce an heir in order to take control of his family's international mining concerns.

The hero has faced a lifetime of prejudice in his native Brazil because of his mixed blood heritage and that has made him wary of intimacy. The heroine knows this going into their marriage of convenience and is intellectually willing to overlook his lack of love - especially after a night of amazing sex. However, the hero completely blows it at their wedding, missing photo ops, cutting the cake, etc. . because he is drunk. Hero knows this, apologizes and they patch it up.

The same thing happens when heroine announces her pregnancy. Hero goes into a frozen anxiety stasis and heroine interprets this as he wants out of their marriage.

This all felt very realistic, with the added fun layer of HP trappings - leaving in a snit by helicopter rather than walking out the door for example.

The children in this one were sweet. The heroine was a lovely combo of grit and vulnerability. Her early maneuverings to keep the hero at bay were hilarious. I especially liked the Go-Kart date. The hero was clueless, but showed an ability to atone and learn from his mistakes. Just a nice story.

This series was amazing. I loved this book. I loved Zac and Freddie. She is an innocent waitress and he is a cynical playboy and a tattooed biker billionaire. He marries her to take control of his legacy and produce an heir, she marries him because that’s the only way she can adopt her sister’s children. When Freddie falls pregnant their marriage must come to an end but they are now in love and neither of them wants a divorce.

I simply adore a good marriage of convenience story. Zac was sexy, bad-ass and a real player until he met sweet innocent Freddie. Freddie is a sweetheart. She thinks she won't fall in love with her husband but Zac is hard to resist. Love scenes were passionate and their chemistry was sizzling. 5 stars for sure. Lynne Graham is always a keeper as far as I’m concerned.

This is the last book in the latest trilogy by my favorite author in the HP line,Lynne Graham.
This is Zac''s and Freddy's story ,and I must say,Lynne saved the best for last.I loved this one and it left me with a huge smile on my face.
If you read the previous two entries in this series, you will know about the 3 brothers while having the same English father, they each had different mothers who gave Joan Crawford a run for her money! In Zac''s case, his mother was a mixed race Brazillian woman who is a product of his grandfather's dalliance with a black housemaid.Zac's mother had an affair with his father when she broke up with her true love, but they soon reconciled and married. But the affair had a consequence and Zac was it.The truth about Zac''s true father came to light when he was a very young child and had an accident, his blood type is rare and guess whose blood type is not compatible ? his stepfather gave his mother a choice, son or husband? He did not want a mixed blood child, but his own pureblood genes.Well, you guessed it!!! Mommy dearest chose her one true love husband and went on to have miscarriage after miscarriage till she finally died attempting to give her husband his kiddo.Zac was sent off to live on a far off ranch in the depths of Brazil.Upon adulthood ,on his mother's death bed,she finally revealed who his true father was and they meet and all is good between them as dear old Dad is a peach!
The heroine was wonderful, she was good and pure and what this hero really need in his life. They were a true match and I loved them together. Her devotion to her dead sisters two young children was beautiful.
The hero was portrayed as a philandering playboy womanizer in the last 2 books and he truly was not a likeable hero material, but LG redeemed him and gave him a great story.I do so enjoy my bad boys in romance,Zac was tall, dark, good looking, has tattoos, wears leather, jeans, has a diamond earing in his ear,and rides a motorcycle y'all!!!Must not forget he is a billionaire, diamond mines baby!!!!
Loved, loved the epilogue where all the past couples and their barrage of young children gather at the couple's country home and the trio's father is also there with his lady love, the heroine of book#1 grandmother.
A treat for LG fans.

Zac, the H, is the most perfect mix of Alpha and breathtaking sweetness, and he’s probably the first (although I might be wrong) bi-racial Hero in the Harlequin Presents world. A must read for HP lovers!

Straight from the Lynne Graham romance mine. All the hallmarks of LG: a tiny h with familial obligations that actually knows what integrity and honor mean, and an OTT handsome, giant of an alpha hero, lots of overwhelming sex and a HEA with devotion and fidelity. LG tweaks the hero a little for this one which is kind of fun. He's still 6'4", but he's one quarter black and an ex-biker with long hair making him the despised son of his mother's husband. (Shame on HP cover art, as he still looks like an Alpha Mediterranean hero.)

All the H's in the "Vows for Billionaires" have bad mummies, but his takes the cake. She tells him she loves him, but she can't have him with her because his stepfather hates him because he is not only not his, but of mixed race. Frankly, I think less damage would have been done if she was a straight out witch. He is abandoned to a ranch in Brazil, and only in 20s has the benefit of his father's love and his brothers' attention not that he wants it. Families are not his deal.

A ridiculous inheritance clause means he needs a wife and baby stat. The h fits the bill as he is in major lust from the moment he sees her. The MOC eventually rolls along as she needs help in keeping her sister's orphan children also of mixed race.

Low drama but sweet scenes as the alpha tycoon takes to parenting like a duck to water, and falls for the children as much as he does the heroine. HP sperm does the trick, and there is some mild tension about the state of a MOC.

I enjoyed it as he was a very sweet and clueless hero. Thankfully when he overreacts it is with little cruelty or slut-shaming. That said, shame on my hypocrisy, I would have liked a little more tension. There was a reference to the evil stepfather asking for a deal I wish had been dealt with. Like a sweet tooth, I'm in a need of a comeuppance.

Wow

This was a good Harlequin for once! It has been a long time since I enjoyed a story as much as this one. Zac was a wonderful hero and I liked his honesty with her. His wedding day behavior was deplorable. Not going to lie, I got a little annoyed by it. Freddie was so annoying at first, I didn't really like her but she grew on me. Until she found out she was pregnant and made a bonehead move. I deducted a star for that! But luckily Zac went after her and he was dreamy. Epilogue was perfect and I am so glad I read this.

"Da Rocha's Convenient Heir" is the story of Freddie and Zac.

Another great addition to this series!

In this book, we have a spunky and caring waitress, her adorable niece and nephew, an over flirtatious but internally scarred playboy hero, loads of sexy chemistry, witty banter, sacrifices and bets, a marriage of convenience, hot lovemaking, angst, drama, groveling, forgiveness and HEA.

What I liked was that both the hero and heroine were likable, even though I did want to smack the hero at one point of time. The kids were so cute, and the plot solid.

Enjoyed it!

This is a romantic story without a lot of angsty angst. The H says and does some mean things, the h is spunky enough to stand up to him but she's determined to do anything to protect her niece and nephew and get custody. I enjoyed watching them slowly fall in love but there was a time jump that rushed things a bit for me. The final chapters were so good!

There are lots of much better reviews for this book, check those out.

Just imagine that! From not finding Zac endearing at all in book 2 of the series Castiglione's Pregnant Princess (Vitale and Jazz's story) to completely loving him in this one! I found him on par with his reserved half-brother, Vitale. LG sure knows how to create magic. I ended up loving this book more than the previous one. For story details please read the lovely reviews by my GR friends Ivy-H and Jenny.

Freddie was an awesome heroine. Zac described her very well.
'But then Freddie wasn’t very practical, Zac conceded, although she liked to think she was and he wasn’t going to be the one to disabuse her of that false conviction. Freddie was a romantic, an idealist, and she had a heart as big as the planet, always looking out for others ahead of herself. He hoped she had some space left in that heart for the deeply flawed husband she had deserted.'

Well, said husband's flaw is that he just didn't trust anyone to confide about his painful and lonesome past or explain his past actions. I did want to give him a knock in the head though for his behavior at their wedding reception (therefore reducing half a star). My heart went out to poor Freddie; no girl should have her wedding day ruined even if its a marriage of convenience. However, as she, herself, puts it, beneath all that rough and hard exterior Zac displays, he has a warm and caring heart. Loved how he was with Freddie and loved how he was with the kids. The kids were adorable. I loved Zac and Freddie's separation phase, how both were miserable without each other. The epilogue was lovely. Glad to see all family members gathered together.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book and will be reading it again. And, I feel sad that the series is over

This is the third book in this series. However I did not read book one due to a cheating hero. On top of the cheating he told the pregnant book one heroine that he didn't want her and he didn't want the baby then gave up his parental rights as he dumped it all in his attorney's lap.

So back to book three. Zac has to get married and produce an heir to be promoted to the CEO position. He is a really huge manwhore so he is thinking about a marriage of convenience. Dark-hearted Zac has decided to help Freddie with her predicament (adopting her dead sister's two children in exchange she will bare him an heir.

As it came time for their wedding Zac was awful! As he watched her walk down the aisle to him he began to freak out with great concern that he would have to give up all the other women and his freedom. As soon as the ceremony ended he hit the bar and drank himself into a stupor. His bodyguards had to walk him onto the plane for their honeymoon. He refused to even look at his bride, refused to cut the cake with her so his father stepped in. Would not dance the obligatory first dance and she has no idea where he slept that night. He did absolutely nothing that he should have done. I hated him for a good bit of the time. He caused her untold hurt and pain.

Things begin to turn around but will it be too late?

Three and a half stars. You know what you're getting when you read the description. However, this is better than average because you get so much of the H's POV. He is a complete emotional dolt and you have to watch him piece through Loving 101, but despite that, he's never truly cruel. He can be kind of a superbaby, and he makes some errors in judgment, but all in all he deserves the h. Also, no cheating or OW-flaunting

I loved how the heroine tamed the hero...they even went on a date, that rarely happens in HPs. The storytelling kept my attention. I noticed the heroine doesn't have a dog. Lynne Graham normally has the heroine have a dog but the heroine has a toddler and a baby niece & nephew and is short of funds to take care of them so I understand not adding a pet into the mix.

Bonus...the epilogue. Perfect.

Marriage of convenience plot: our H is a Brazilian billionaire in need of an heir in order to get control of family's empire, the h is a poor waitress who needs to get married to get custody of her orphaned niece/nephew.
He's got an insta-lust for her and is defintely a jerk; a total commitment phobic person, unable to conceive a relationship not based on power/economic interest.
We soon learn about his family or the lack of it, at least in the sense of real love and affection.
She's a levelheaded girl with a painful past; I will not explain but her life has been and still is really tough.
They make the deal but their attraction is overwhelming: we have passion but also angst and fear to love.
Total opposites who make each other better - and a very good ending!!

Tattoed-ex biker Hero was definitely a first in my HP reading career. Loved the kids that was so enamored with hero. I loved how their bond bloomed. Hero’s father and his backstory was interesting. Still he was a total jerk to the heroine on their wedding day. I enjoyed how courageous and honorable heroine was.
A definite reread.

This book was amazing! Totally unexpected and I loved that all the 3 H's of this series were completely different from other LG Hero's.

Zac... My God! He was a walking, talking hotness and the typical bad boy with bike, tattoos, studs and leather cuffs! He is carefree and though warmly accepted by his father, a bit frowned upon by his rich, snobbish half-brothers!

Freddie was a typical LG poor, sweet h with a heart as big as the planet! She takes care of her niece and nephew and those 2 little cherubs were adorable and one of the amazing factors of this book.

When she is about to lose those babies, Zac, who is already attracted to Freddie and who was rejected twice, suggests they marry and have another child. It's a win-win situation for both of them as a baby of his own would make Zac the CEO of his Co.

After their marriage, he is initially cold and distant, but then he realizes his mistake and soon the four of them live together as a family until Freddie learns she is pregnant.

I loved Zac and his killer attitude. He was abandoned and hurt as a child, so he always locked away his heart. Everyone judges him unfairly and though hurt, he tries to cover it up with indifference. But Freddie and those cherubs broke through his defenses and made him see a different, a warm loving side of himself which he realized he valued more than his freedom.

LG did an awesome job with this series and I highly recommend reading this whole series. It's worth it!

It is the same old plot. Rinse and repeat, is that the correct expression?
Hero is supposed to be tough, dark, tortured alpha but to me he came across as immature and weak.
While I liked the heroine at first, as per usual she went through a personalty change once she got her eyes on the hero. Her will and pride left her and she turned into a crying doormat. Even her sweetens which I liked at first started to grate on my nerves.

Average LG, with a heroine who has to keep her nephews and a hero who has to marry and provide a child to inherit his father’s business. Same old. The difference here is that our hero is not as usual a sleek smart billionaire with bespoke suits, he’s a tattooed biker with long dark hair and blue eyes. And what’s more, he’s mixed race Brazilian. Billionaire. That was enough for me to give one more star to this book. As for the rest it’s pretty standard. I didn’t like the way he behaved at his marriage: his puny brain made him realize just when his bride was walking down the aisle that he was marrying a woman with two children and he would be never free as before. Genius! So he panicked and disappeared for the whole party, got drunk and left his wife alone for the entire day( and night)...imagine if the heroine realized that she was going to have not two but three children to look after...I also hated he was a womanizer. I’m not against men and women having various partners during their lives and before their marriage but a man ( or woman) who uses other people for sex and then leaves them is only shallow. And this is the best I can say about because if there are deeper reasons for this behavior they are usually worth running far away from these kind of guys. So I didn’t like the H very much. I noticed with pleasure that LG remembered that in the previous book of this series the H was seen at a family party going out of a room followed by two women in creased gowns, as if he had just had an intimate experience with them. It will be clarified that it wasn’t like that and that he was celibate since meeting the heroine. In spite of himself, of course.

Practicality, not Sentiment
The above is the mantra for Zac, and Freddie, as they enter into marriage for their own goals. Him, to acquire his family business by marrying, and providing an heir. And her, for getting custody of her niece, and nephew, both of whom she practically raised since they were born, and loves to bits. But love among the H/h does find its own way.

Together with Freddie, Eloise (the niece), and Jack (the nephew), Zac's scene at the park was so familial, I couldn't stop gushing after reading it. It was so beautifully written! Zac is a wonderful, wonderful guy, especially when he goes back to Freddie after realising everything by himself (without anyone having to knock some sense into him as is usual for some stupid M&B heroes). I loved how cutely Jack always clung to Zac, and both of the kids are so adorable. Their journey towards their HEA is so sweet, and then they become one big happy family!

Loved, loved, loved this book!

Wasn't expecting to really wowed and was pleasantly surprised.

The H is the sweetest alpha dude. He's a bi-racial, tattooed, biker billionaire with all sorts of commitment issues. But ugh, he's just the sweetest, hottest HP hero I've met in a long time. He wants the h and went about it all wrong. He was crass and insulting in has approach and now she dislikes him.

The h is sweet, innocent, hard working, determined, full of moxie and has a heart of gold. She has sacrificed her education and life to care for her dead, drug addicted sister's two kids from their birth. When the kids are in danger of being placed in foster care, she realized that she is willing to do anything to keep them, even marrying the H whom she thinks the worst of.

I had a blast reading this book and wish that the HP authors would write more books like this one. A little more diversity in the characters is very, very welcome.

I liked the heroine in this one, she stood up for herself and wasn't a doormat. Overall an enjoyable story with some steamy scenes. I'd recommend this one, modern with just enough HP angst.

Unpopular opinion amongst my friends but this book disappointed me. LG never leaves me half happy mostly except this time.

Zac is a wealthy billionaire, very hot and sexy and Freddie is a sweet waitress, making ends meet while caring for her niece and nephew. Freddie’s sister died from OD. My main gripe in this book is the excessive internal monologue. Pages after pages while Zac and Freddie were in the background!

Also Zac’s family tree was all over the map! Not only was he a half brother to other siblings, his parents affair was a rebound while they were both having other affairs outside of their marriage. What was LG really thinking.. such a hot mess of family ties and half siblings and illegitimate children.

Freddie was stand-off ish and gauche. Confused but also not exactly sweet. She was attracted to Zac and wanted to take things forward but kept playing hot and cold thanks to her inexperience. I didn’t find their chemistry to work. Freddie was distracted and there was so much monologue in their foreplay and such that I could barely stand to read through.

Easy pass for me.

This was my favorite book in Vows for Billionaires trilogy by Lynne Graham. This one just had so much flair out of the other two, and I was really into it for the entire way. It was really hard to tear my eyes off the pages because it was just so good. As soon as I opened the pages I had a good feeling about the story of Freddie and Zac, and that just carried throughout the entire story.

There were immediate sparks between Freddie and Zac, and had been even before this story even began with Zac letting Freddie know that he was interested in spending some erotic time with her beneath the sheets and nothing more. He didn’t hide it and was even rather crude about each, which just turned poor Freddie off even though she was totally attracted to Zac, but had more important things to worry about like her niece and nephew that she had been taking care of, but that didn’t stop the attraction between them. They just had this explosive chemistry between that was really shown off between the pages. They just immediately clicked for me, and I loved seeing them interact and spark off of one another. It made for a really entertaining ride.

Plus I loved the character of Zac. He had a little bad body edge to him, which was fun especially in seeing the difference between Zac and his brothers. Zac was more compelling. More interesting. Just fun to watch. He was a typical bad boy playboy with a heart of gold hidden beneath his armor. I loved he wore his motorcycle boots, tattoos, and leather jacket which just oozed sex Appel. And the fact that he took Freddie on a date at the motorbike track via his motorcycle was beyond sexy, in fact that whole riding the bike together scene was very sexy filled with lots of foreplay and anticipation. Zach was just colorful, but yet he had wounds beneath the surface, and what he suffered made me feel for him. It was really hard not to fall in love with him especially seeing him with the children.

The pacing in this story was really good I thought. It felt natural and easy, building up the romance between Freddie and Zac without dragging it out too much or rushing to the the finish line. The pacing allowed for really great build up between Freddie and Zac with all that underlying sexual tension simmering beneath the surface, and it was so good. I loved seeing them interact and “fight” their insane chemistry with each other. It just really whetted the appetite really nicely.

Another thing I really enjoyed was the friction between them. It added so much flavor to the story as they butted heads together and kind of tore them apart a little bit because of the misunderstandings that occurred especially during their wedding day, which was a picture perfect day, not that it was a conventional marriage at first and was made as a part of a deal, but the nonetheless. It really hurt Freddie of Zac’s reaction to their wedding day, which wasn’t so pleasant of an experience. I really felt for Freddie in that moment because I could feel her pain over the situation and added another level of insecurity to her as his interest in her other than physical. It was a tense scene as was the day after, but to his credit he knew that he messed up and tried to make up for it, and that won a point in my book that he wanted to make it up to her.

Their first time scene happened the night before their wedding because they just couldn’t contain the passion between them any longer, and it was a great scene because not only was it sexy, tender, and sweet, but very emotional especially for Freddie, who really didn’t let men get close to her or see her vulnerable side because she witnessed things in her childhood that told her that men weren’t always nice especially concerning bedroom activities. So, she was little scarred by that, but Zac was very patient with her and tender, which made it a little easier for her to let go and just be in the moment with Zac. He was the first man that made her feel safe ever, and that was a really big deal for her and showed the importance of that first time scene.

Once she felt that safety with Zac, she allowed herself to let go more and show him more vulnerable sides of herself by reveling what happened with her sister and just past in general. It also allowed her to explore the sensual side of herself as well, and she enjoyed every moment of it with Zac. They had some really steamy encounters throughout the story that showed off how much they needed one another and how much they craved that closeness with no one else aside from each other. And the more they were together, the more intensity and closeness that they shared.

Another really cute thing in the story was seeing Zac interact with Freddie’s nephew and niece. It really showed how they were getting closer and closer as a family and not just as a couple. I loved that Zac was very affectionate and caring towards these children, and I could see him not only fall in love with Freddie on the page, but those children too, and it was amazing. I loved seeing that side to him.

Overall I did really, really enjoyed this book. The story was enjoyable. The characters were endearing. I loved Zac. There was just something about that mad that I couldn’t help but fall in love with. The chemistry between them was very sexy especially leading up to their first time, and there was such warmth and caring in that moment that it made it even sexier. There was great friction between these two. Sparks flew between these two whenever they were in the same room, and they really knew how to push each other’s buttons which was fun to watch. They immediately had that connection with one another as soon as they came together on the page, and I was sucked in by their story. I wanted to see them together. I rooted for them. They just worked for me as a couple, and I never wavered from that. There was sweetness, tenderness, and beautiful moments balanced with the sexy, intense, and vulnerable moments that really made this a complete story. It felt very real and never forced in anyway. They just had a really nice flow to their romance, and I really appreciated that. I can see myself reading this one a few more times because it was that enjoyable and very good.
