Well told Tale

This was a good book, I recommend it.

It would have to be rated at least PG13 if it should be made into a movie (Women being murdered; men being murdered, back shot; multiple attempted murders, blood and gore and Fraud and Grand Theft involving a Federal judge).

But in the end ...... ahh.

Excellent story

Good words in a row, kept me up past my bedtime. Hard to understand how some people think that they have to get it all at the expense of others. Yes, this is fiction, but people act like depicted in the story.

Good women

Seems as if being a good woman in this author s work is hazardous. Sadly, he kills them off a lot. Still a good read, though makes me wonder.

As good as it gets

While a bit more editing wouldn't hurt (reticula? Really?) this is as fine a tale as you'll find anywhere. Fast paced with a few surprises.

Sad

The loss of life is never a happy thing. When it involves parts of close families it makes it even harder.

More great reading

Another great tale by an author I will follow. No two stories are alike and they are all fast paced, exciting reading.

Best in the series so far.

This book kept my attention from the very beginning. Very riveting and suspenseful. Hope the next one is as good.

L J Martin - The Montana Series Bk 1 - McKeag’s Mountain - Reviewed 5/17/19
Revenge can be sweet when the heart hurts so much, but leave room for healing too!

Better men than Bertoldus Prager had tried to kill the McKeags of Lucky Seven Ranch--and still, the family stands strong on their land near Deer Lodge, Montana. This time Old Man Prager isn't taking any chances. The wealthy rancher sends seven mercenaries to take Dan McKeag's land by force. Prager's plan almost works to perfection. The only problem is that Dan McKeag is clinging to life--and plotting grisly revenge against the men who murdered his wife, commandeered his ranch, and ran his 14-year-old nephew into the wilderness. Now, the tables are about to turn on Bertoldus Prager. One by one McKeag aims to take down Prager's seven hard men. And Dan McKeag, who has lost nearly everything, is about to prove how much of a payback he can get: with his blood, his courage, and his Remington...

What did I like? Of course, everyone knows that my first love is westerns and how much better can it be if there is a heart involved. What I like the most was the loyalty that the men had for the boss and how the boss had values. Our current time is missing those and we desperately need to find them again. Maybe the answer is reading more WESTERNS?????

What will you like? Great storyline that has lots of details and descriptions, along with a LOT of action. But don’t forget to get a box of tissues before starting this because there are a few sad parts. I have made up my mind that I was born in the wrong time…. I wish I had been around during this wonderful time. Be sure to read some of the other books that L J Martin has written they will make your day. All excellent books.
