Daya Pawar or Dagdu Maruti Pawar (1935[1]–20 December 1996[2]) was born to a Mahar Dalit family in Dhamangaon (Taluka: Akole, District: Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, India), was a Marathi author and poet known for his contributions to Dalit literature that dealt with the atrocities experienced by the dalits or untouchables under the Hindu caste system.

इस संकलन में दया पवार की दस कहानियां सम्मिलित हैं। सारी कहानियां अच्छी हैं। बहुत अच्छी।
कहीं पढ़ा था, दया पवार दलितों में ब्राह्मण हैं। जैसे कि अच्छी, संयमित, संतुलित और संवेदनशील मनोभाव ब्राह्मणों में ही हो सकता है। दुर्भाग्यवश ऐसी सोच सिर्फ ब्राह्म्णवादियों में ही नहीं, तथाकथित प्रगतिशील, कलावादी तथा दलित साहित्यकारों में भी प्रचुर उपलब्ध है।
रतीलाल शाहीन का अनुवाद अच्छा है।
चंद छपाई की भूलें हैं, दूसरे संस्करण में सुधर सकती हैं।
