Providing feedback to others about their performance is a key developmental experience. But not all feedback is effective in making the best use of that experience. This guidebook demonstrates the foundation for effective feedback practice, walking the reader through, step by step and in detail, the feedback method used at CCL. For anyone who wants to get better at giving feedback to anyone, whether they be a peer, direct report, or boss, this guidebook demonstrates how to create an effective message with real impact.
Very light read, less than thirty pages. However very impactful and helped change the relationships I have in one on one meetings with staff and my boss. The book introduces a model for providing feedback Specific-Behavior-Impact (SBI). The book was accompanied with a live seminar that allowed for practice and hands on experience with the SBI tool.
Good book to know a little bit more about how to give feedback, which is something that everyone should know how to do. A fast read about this subject that is really helpful for those who seek more information about how to give feedback in the best way. 3.5 stars
A decent quick read. The book provides quick pointers to leaders in the art of giving the feedback. This can be used as a quick reference. There are some better books on the art of giving and receiving feedback out there.
Appreciated the brevity and the advice is not bad, but I didn't draw from it any critical insights that I felt I was missing. Doubtful it will actually improve the feedback I deliver, so I regret the purchase and the read.
