A collection of short stories by Sean Dietrich, a writer, humorist, and novelist, known for his commentary on life in the American South. His humor, columns, and short stories appear in various publications throughout the Southeast.
Sean Dietrich is a columnist, podcaster, speaker, and novelist, known for his commentary on life in the American South. His work has appeared in Southern Living, The Tallahassee Democrat, Good Grit, South Magazine, The Bitter Southerner, Thom Magazine, and The Mobile Press Register, and he has authored ten books.
Other than the fact that Sean is very pro anything southern, and very anti, anything northern, the stories are very heartwarming. You feel good when you read the stories, like there is hope for humanity!
As with the other books I’ve read of this author, the stories were tear inducing yet enjoyable, and often prompted reflection. This book in particular covered some darker material than his other books seemed to (while still putting a positive spin on things).
If you’ve ever lived in the panhandle of Florida, this is a must-read! He takes all the crap people go through in life and makes it beautiful! The entire book filled the depths of my soul with joy and hope. You don’t find too many books like this anymore.
I love his writing. He always cheers me up and/or brings back memories that warm my heart. Since I live in the FL Panhandle, I especially enjoy heading about our area.
I’ve read several of Sean’s books and have enjoyed them all. I like this short story format for taking breaks. As always I could relate to several of the stories.
I enjoy reading anything Sean Dietrich has written. The turmoil in this country right now frightens me, so I read books as wonderful as this one to remember the goodness that abounds in human nature. Thank you Sean Dietrich, thank you.
If you grew up in the South this is a must read. The way he tells a story is fabulous and the character are great. In fact, it doesn't matter where you grew up he is so interesting and enjoyable to rea.
I've followed Sean on Facebook for some time now and adore his writing, stories, heart! In a time when hateful seems to be the norm, Sean reminds us that everyone has a story, to be kind to others and to notice the good. He makes me want to be a better person!!
