I never imagined I’d see them fall. After attempting to negotiate peace only to be betrayed by the one woman who promised me everything, Asha, myself, and Commander Dubois’ daughter Mary-Anne are on the run. With nowhere to go but the outskirts of Austin, we flee to the wilds of Lago Vista, Texas in the hopes to find safety, but find only carnage in Their wake. A full-scale assault on the planet Earth is beginning. Now in the middle of it all, we have only one to join the revolution and fight for our planet’s safety. After everything I’ve lost, I’m willing to lay my life on the line for Earth’s future. Even if I die trying.
Kody Boye has always been drawn to escape into other worlds. Now primarily a young adult fiction author, he made his debut in the Yellow Mama webzine at the age of fourteen with the publication of "[A] Prom Queen's Revenge," and sold his debut novel, Sunrise, to Library of the Living Dead Press at eighteen.
Since then, he has authored several young adult novels across multiple speculative fiction genres. His works include The Beautiful Ones, The Red Wolf Saga, and the When They Came trilogy.
When not writing, Kody enjoys reading YA novels, playing video games, and relaxing with his three cats. He currently lives and writes in Southeastern Idaho.
First of all, the series is well worth reading. It's not too lengthy and will hold your interest throughout. The writing is good but overuse of "the girl" in conversation bothered me a bit. This little quirk was used throughout the series. The relationship between Ana Mia and Asha was a bit strange but, perhaps, it was due to their age. Otherwise, I enjoyed both this book and the others.

Summary: Ana Mia and every human’s lives changed forever the day the Greys came bringing death and destruction in their wake. As Ana Mia, Mary-Ann and Asha run for their lives the aliens seem determined to get Ana Mia back at all cost. After she was bitten by an alien coyote she began to physically change while also having a mental connection with them.
The differences between the Greys and the humans is vast, their technology not withstanding. The aliens seem to think that the loss of human lives was just a fact of war, but when their own people were killed they didn’t feel the same way. The only hope that humanity has is if some of the aliens could begin to understand how humanity feels about the invasion.
This was an incredible saga that takes humanity to the brink of salvation. People are forced to decide who to support humanity or the aliens. This was a wild ride from the start to the very end.
This third novel ramp up the action as the human and the aliens fight for the planet Earth. Kody Boye writes great action sequences but here the narrator fails short of her usual amazing performance. She gives no eagerness or excitement but continue through these sections at her normal pace. Otherwise she is perfect for Ana Mia and does well with the alien voices. I enjoyed the ending. I found it a unique way to end the alien/human crisis. The epilogue rushes that ending a tad but gives you information about character that were part of this journey as the ending settled on Ana Mia herself. Overall, I enjoyed this series. I would recommend it to my friends.
I received an audio version for review; all opinions arem y own.
I loved each book and was so wrapped up in the story that after finishing one, I immediately downloaded the next. The ending was so unexpected, but also so utterly perfect. Whilst the series ended well, with no cliff hangers, I would still love a follow up. What would a young girl do, if she suddenly became " Queen of the World"? What changes would she make? How could she integrate two species so they can live in harmony? What new technologies could be gained from an alien species, and how would that change humanity?
Okay folks....I enjoyed book one and two but at this point-or at least 1/2 way through-I was more than ready for the series to end. I feel like it was a bit long winded and could have been wrapped up sooner but I was invested and I am not a quitter. After investing like 21 hours in the series I do not regret listening; the series was well thought out and I could have never dreamed of the idea so that is impressive. I just think it could have ended sooner.
Audible UK:Loved it!Great series! AnnaMia and Osha are in a fight for their lives and the world.AnnaMia is not trusted by everyone and is not treated well by everyone. With help from a friendly gray, they just may be able to bring peac to the earth again. Krys Janae was the perfect narrator. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.'
So in this third book the action was ramped up and the story started rolling. The end was a bit predictable but I did like the way it was wrapped up. I continue to feel frustrated by the lack of character relationship development. I am also sooo frustrated that it took this long for the character to finally find an established purpose, even if it was handed to them by another character. Honestly it was a bit disappointing.
