I write paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and other stuff. I taught myself to read when I was four. That was around the time I tried to ride my tricycle to work. I wasn't sure where work was, but I knew it had to be interesting if people went there every day. Now I combine my love of books with work, and I don't have to ride my tricycle to get there. My Elder Races series began May, 2011. You can also find me on Twitter and Facebook!

This is the end of the world as we know it

Before I read the book or even read the blurb, I was curious for the book title. What “Planet Dragos”? Does Dragos move to space or is he an alien? As if...
Well, the answer is “No”and “No”.

Men might be from Mars, Pia said, and women could possibly be from Venus, but Dragos is a planet all on his own. Just look how everyone revolves around him. On Planet Dragos everything goes the way he arranges it—unless you decide to cross him, and God help you then, because he doesn’t know how to back down, and he doesn’t ever, ever let up.

The book title simply signifies the importance of Dragos and fundamentally, it signifies the importance of having a single dragon on Earth (Hint: There are currently two dragons on Earth. Maybe the balance has shifted?).

So this is a super significant book for this series and I have to say that this is the only book in the series that Dragos is the absolutely most important character.

Yes, there is Pia in this book. The very pregnant Pia who is almost psychotic:
“And as you are well aware, I’ve read several books about pregnancy. I’ve decided to consider you somewhat insane until the baby is born.”

Yes, there is Stinky Pot and Liam around.
“I was never that little, was I?”
“Of course you were”

Yes, there is Carling and Rune in this book. The story revolves around their coming marriage in Las Vegas after all. Two comments here:
1.Who had this “brilliant” idea of getting married in Las Vegas with the magic dampeners all over the place?
2. Rune and Carling, I can finally say that I can forgive you for abandoning Dragos in the third book.

Yes, there is death around. Dragons and Death naturally always go around hand in hand.
“But I am not the same beast I once was. Like you said, I have reached for life. I will not go back to that feral time.”
“Not unless she dies.”

Yes, there are sentinels around. And other Wyrs, Vampires, Djinns, Elves. And all kinds of magical beings.

But where it matters, Dragos -the oldest being on planet Earth- has to fight alone mostly with himself and he needs to question his decisions, his actions, his life so far, his future.

“Once upon a time, there was a dragon who lived so long he saw the world fill up with all kinds of people and creatures, and they didn’t all get along. But the dragon was clever and good at adapting, so he stamped out his kingdom in this growing world, and he ruled it very well.”
A hint of male satisfaction eased the tightness of his expression. Strolling over, he poured another scotch. “He did, didn’t he?”

Yes, this is Dragos' book. And if you are a fan of this series, you do NOT want to miss it!

We all have them: books by authors we know we'll have a great time with. For me, Thea Harrison is one of those. I remember when I first read Dragon Bound by her - I was on the beach in Italy (a word of advice - don't do that, that book is HOT). Ever since I've been trying to find a series about shapeshifters that are as good as Thea's...only a few are (ie. Nalini Singh's). The Elder Races world will always have a special place in my heart.

Now let's talk about Planet Dragos - this is the last of Dragos and Pia's POV stories and I'm a little sad to let them go but I understand that at some point all stories have been told and Ms. Harrison has my full respect for recognizing and acknowledging this.

On their last adventure Pia and Dragos have to deal with an old enemy, an enemy who wants to destroy Dragos and knows the best way to get to him is through the dragon's beloved and REALLY pregnant mate. This pregnancy has taken a toll on her and in typical male manner Dragos doesn't miss a chance to put his foot in his mouth.
“You’re very pregnant,” he told her. “And as you are well aware, I’ve read several books about pregnancy. I’ve decided to consider you somewhat insane until the baby is born.”

He isn't cruel though, not with Pia who he loves with the fire of a thousand suns. Lately something has been on his mind, something that will change the future of the whole New York demesne. He is preoccupied and doesn't even realize how his words and actions hurt his mate. When Pia is being kidnapped it's a wake-up call for him and he will burn down the world to get her back.

Dragos is larger than life - he has come a long way though. The dragon we met in the first book is still there, arrogant, dominating, demanding, charismatic and complicated but Pia has smoothed the edges and has made him almost human - there is a tenderness about him now that is enthralling. What I find fascinating, even after so many books, is that I really feel that Dragos is ancient. Thea Harrison made his character believable.
He pressed his face against her inner thigh to muffle his laugh, and that was a miraculous treasure too. He adored how laughter had crept into their love life.

Pia has always been one of my favorite female characters - she has the heart of a warrior and a softness that is sweet and endearing. Her snark, however, is one of my most favorite things about her. But she's also real - her insecurities, living with such an old, powerful and sexual creature and I can only imagine how hard it is to step out of the shadow he casts. Pia does it though, she's always been special in her own right.
“You aren’t what is wrong. I can say with absolute certainty that you are the one thing that is most perfect and right in my world. You are the center around which everything else revolves, always.”

A new character is being introduced in Planet Dragos and I have a hunch that we'll see more of him in future books. We also get a little bit of Liam who isn't the peanut any longer. I know the author said she wouldn't write a college series about Liam but it feels like she made a distinction here - maybe we will see a completely grown up Liam fighting for his own mate at some point? I definitely hope so!

This novella is a lovely and solid conclusion to Pia and Dragos's storyline. I'm sure we'll hear of them and see them as cameos in other books but it's really hard to send them off into their HEA. Planet Dragos has everything I love about this series - most of the sentinels, especially Rune and Carling and a snarky Aryal, action and Dragos' and Pia's love. Thea Harrison has announced three more stories in the New York demesne and now I'm really curious who these will be about!

5 Fire Breathing Stars!!

In Planet Dragos we are treated to my favorite sexy dragon Dregos along with his very pregnant mate Pia, their son Liam, and many more of our favorite ER characters including one of my favorite couples Khalil and Grace. This is a 130 page novella so I can’t say too much without spoiling the read for everyone.

Dragos and his mate Pia are in Las Vegas for their friend (former Wyr sentinel) Rune Ainissesthai’s marriage to Vampyre Carling. All to soon things take a turn for the worse and it will take all of Dregos formatable power and fury to save his mate from an enemy he didn’t even know he had. We’re also introduced to an mysterious and intriguing new character who has a past with Dragos, looking forward to seeing him in future books.....well maybe not since his showing up may not bode well for some.

4+ "Dragos and Pia Forever!" Stars!

I loved it and I'm a little sad this was Dragos and Pia's last book. But that's ok. There are lots more stories to tell. What was lacking in this one for me was the execution of the action/conflict scenes. They weren't fleshed out very well. Or they could have been so much better. But that's because this was a novella. 50 or so more pages probably would have been great! I really can't wait to see what may be next in the Elder Races universe. Happy reading!

All good things must come to an end.

3.5* rounded up

Final book in a pretty good series
Baby 2 has finally arrived
Dragos becomes Lord of a new land
Liam looks set to take over New York (hopefully there's a spin off series there)
Dragos and death are family yo
Bad bad lady gets taken out

While I felt this could've been longer it was still a pretty good wrap up of the series to date. Hopefully more spin offs are in the not to distant future.

What a delightful addition to the Elder Races Series!

Once again Pia and Dragos find themselves in a dire situation with an enemy from Dragos' past.
Pia is kidnapped while pregnant with their second child.
What the kidnappers don't realize is that you don't mess with Dragos (The Great Beast) and you certainly don't kidnap his pregnant mate.
He would burn the world to get her back and think nothing of it.
The stakes are high.
The story intense, and it had me on the edge of my seat until the very end.

I loved this story, and I loved seeing appearances from some of my favourite characters from previous books.

If your a fan of The Elder Races Series, then this is definitely a must-read.

Four and a half
Eleven fabulous chapters of the swan song I feared but honestly it's setting up for more amazing goodness as like death and taxes change is inevitable.
The author has stated this will be the last adventure for Dragos and Pia although they might pop up occasionally as supporting characters. So she really had to pull something out of her literary bag that is action packed and fulfilling to make her readers happy. Well as Pia is heavily pregnant and very grumpy to boot you would think that Dragos would tread warily but obviously he’s a mere male and bound to make mistakes. The problem is Pia might feel she’s lumbering about like a cart horse but if Dragos won’t answer her questions then Pia will just have to find out what’s going on herself.
I love how real the couple feel with Pia struggling with feeling obviously less than attractive and Dragos trying to be protective and yet at the same time totally oblivious to what Pia really needs to hear. Everything is happening so quickly and whilst it was lovely to see old friends in this story it’s the future of this series that I’m most excited for. Yes I will miss these romantic vignettes with this couple but as I think about it I understand the authors feelings that their part of this world should now evolve and that leaves the way open for new characters and of course Liam !
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Men might be from Mars, Pia said, and women could possibly be from Venus, but Dragos is a planet all on his own. Just look how everyone revolves around him.

Cheesy display of the couple, walking in the well-known territory. A bit of danger and fluff, and some witty comebacks. It was better that the latest novellas. Feels like a turn-of-the-page for them.

--

[...] if you really wanted to be helpful, you’d get me some fucking towels and hot water. After all, I’m pretty sure they won’t do anything drastic like unnaturally prolong my life.”
“You would be surprised,” he said, arching one eyebrow. “One small change can create large differences over time. In case you haven’t heard of it before, it’s called the butterfly effect.”
She rolled her eyes. “I guess I’ll have to understand if the possibility of creating change is too much for you to handle. No doubt you can’t sully your reputation by acting like someone who gives a shit.”
Azrael regarded her, his mouth tight. “You’re quite something when you get going, you know that?”
“Oh please,” she said. “Tell it to someone who cares.”

Y después:
Her face twisted. Kicking the man she had just felled, she snarled, “Why can’t assholes let me be a pacifist the way I really want to be?”
XD

Aqui se cierra un ciclo de esta pareja, y al parecer queda abierta la puerta para hacer algo más con Liam. Pero le salió competencia con Stinkpot; es una delicia.

Change is coming, decisions need to be made, and Pia and Dragos have one last challenge to over come.

Planet Dragos is a fast-paced action-packed story featuring Pia and Dragos in their last adventure! I had forgotten that Pia is pregnant. We see the toll that this pregnancy is taking on her, how her hormones are making her moody, and how depression of not feeling beautiful is setting in. It showcases what many women go through during pregnancy, the mood swings, the difficult decisions, the depression that can set in, etc.. We also see that even though they are a mated couple it’s not all roses and sunshine. Their are bumps along the way.

The best part about this novella is that all the previous cast and couples make appearances and throw in their support to help Rune and Dragos out when their mates go missing. Emotions are running high throughout the novella. It was wonderful to see Rune and Dragos confront their issues, their falling out, and work together once more to save their mates. It was sweet to have this reconciliation.

As always Ms. Harrion’s doesn’t give you anytime to think. You just keep turning those pages to see how everything will turn out. Many changes are happening in the Wyr demise and those changes will affect a number of characters. We also get a guest appearance of Death one of the Primal Gods… He was fun! As for Pia and Dragos. I’m happy with their story arc's conclusion. It doesn’t mean I won’t love to see them pop up now and then, but this arc makes room for the next generation to take over.

Another suburb novella in the Elder Races series.

**Note: You should read Pia & Dragos story arc in order.

Pia is pregnant with baby #2 but her and Dragos go to Las Vegas for Rune and Carling's wedding. Immediately, Pia is "enchanted" by a billboard with a familiar looking man supposedly speaking to her. Naturally, she asks Dragos if he knows him and Dragos blows her off. We all know what that means and that gets Pia in a precarious situation.

description

And I was quite shocked at how precarious it was. And I was equally horrified and immensely impressed by Carling. Of course, we all know how this will work out but I loved that both Rune and Dragos got to flex their muscle a little.

The best part... was when they got home and especially when Liam showed up. I LOVED all that. It will be interesting to see if Thea Harrison takes things even further with a certain someone. *Fingers crossed.*

This is one of my all time favorite couples/families and I'm so sad that this is it for the most part.

This will be the last book for Dragos and Pia 😔.
I can see why after the decision they made, but surely something exciting can happen in that place too? No more spoiler 😘

It was a fabulous read, I bet they need all time in the world for Stinkpot!! 😂🤣
He certainly will be a very special guy and Liam? I’m looking forward for Prince of The Wyr’s story sometimes in the future too.

Dragos and Pia are one of my all time favorite couples so it was a little bittersweet to read this final book featuring them but I loved the way the author wrapped up their story while still leaving it open for them to appear in future books as well as open up new opportunities for the future with the Elder Races world.

Planet Dragos has all the action, drama and of course just enough romance/emotion thrown in that I expect from a book featuring Dragos and Pia. I loved seeing Dragos' primitive side when he realizes Pia has been kidnapped. I also loved seeing Dragos work side by side with Rune and to see those two finally work everything out between them and get back to the strong relationship between them.

There were changes that take place in this book that open up other opportunities for stories so as sad as I am to see Dragos and Pia's story end I'm excited about the future and look forward to more books. Oh and I can't forget "Death" who we are introduced to in this book and made quite an impression (I can only hope to see him again in a future book).

I finished this book feeling happy and while I hope to at least hear a bit about Pia and Dragos in the future I was very satisfied with the way things wrapped up.

A copy of this book was provided to me by the author. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion

Planet Dragos is a novella that is sure to pack a punch to any Elder Races fan.

Pia is very pregnant when she and Dragos head to Rune’s and Carling’s wedding in Vegas. Both Pia and Carling are kidnapped by someone with extremely nefarious plans. The “Great Beast” will stop at nothing to secure Pia’s safety, even if it means the totally destruction of this world.

We are introduced to new familiar relations and discover new possibilities.

It was inevitable that Pia’s and Dragos’ would eventually be moving on to bigger and better things. Planet Dragos laid the groundwork for marvelous new Elder Race adventures and still left them, Pia and/or Dragos, the possibility of appearances in further Elder Race installments.

I received this ARC copy of Planet Dragos from Teddy Harrison LLC. This is my honest and voluntary review. Planet Dragos is set for publication May 14, 2018.

Fitting end to the series, unless it heads into some next gen stuff with Liam. Wish we had met the brother more fully than in the mere dream we encountered him in in a previous book, seems a fun character.

I would like more otherland focused tales but it is also very very good to let a series end in the single digits while folks are still enamoured of it. Particularly for OCD people like me who must read everything in order and would like to get back to their real lives and not be irritated by progressively declining story quality yet feel compelled to keep going and going and going.

So thank you for stopping Thea.

This last novella in the Dragos & Pia POV reminded me quickly of why I fell in love with the Elder Races in the first place. It’s been an age since the last time we had a full length book featuring these two, but Thea Harrison has given us a half dozen novellas over the years to keep us in the loop with their relationship and growing family. With this story, they are visiting Las Vegas to see Rune and Carling get married. Pia is very pregnant with baby number two –and everything goes to hell when someone with an axe to grind with Dragos kidnaps her to hurt him.

The book isn’t very long and I don’t want to spoil the particulars, but I will say that I really enjoyed returning to this world and these characters. Dragos is so fascinating to me. He’s the alpha among alphas, so much of a dragon, even when he’s wearing his human skin. Yet his love for Pia shapes him. He worships her; he would burn the world for her, and more to the point, he could. It’s awesome. I love Pia, too. She has her own brand of strength. Though her husband has been around for thousands of years, and she is less than 30, she has a lot to teach him about other ways to see life and the world. And the best part is that he listens.

There’s plenty of action with the kidnapping plot and lots of heart when it comes to the various connections in a family. Not only the deep bond of this couple but with their children as well. Another thing I adored: all of the characters we’ve known and loved from the series making an appearance to attend the wedding. AND the story ties in other novellas that seemed to stand alone in the Elder Races world.

Does this mean you have to have read everything in the series to enjoy this book? Absolutely not, but it’s cool for those of us who have.

I wouldn’t recommend this as an entry-point to the series, but it feels like a great ending to an arc building up until now. And the end marks a big shift in the world.

My only small quibble continues to be with treating Liam as a man… one who presumably has physical relationships with women. It really grosses me out. I know his body has matured, but he’s, like, two. Just… no.

Otherwise, I was all in. Would recommend to fans of the series.

My Review:

This is the finale of the Elder Races series. Technically there is a another installment but it hasn't yet been released and the date keeps getting pushed back so not sure if it will come out. And this is the perfect way to leave this series in some ways....although I really want Liam to have a book and crossing fingers he does get a book eventually if he hasn't already received one yet. In Planet Dragos quite a few things happen in this novella surprisingly though. We see Pia is super pregnant with their second baby who has Dragos temperament and her shifter side of being the rare unicorn. We see her getting kidnapped, Dragos rescuing her and then having them realize they need a change and want to go to a different realm and be true pioneers in this new land. But they have to figure out the politics of leaving and what will happen with their son Liam.

I truly adored this book, their intimacy and seeing them fight for each other. And I loved their baby Niall. He was so adorable in his shifter form. I can't wait to continue this world with the Ryacia series.

This is not a standalone novella, so I'd never recommend it to anyone who hadn't read any of Thea Harrison's Elder Races books already - Books 1 and 3 at the bare minimum. However, as someone who has read (honestly, *devoured*) the entire series, including every single one of the tie-in novellas, this new novella was an absolute delight. It was one of my favorites of all of her novellas, actually (which is saying a lot - her novellas are always comfort-reads for me), and it provides a perfect ending to Pia and Dragos's dramatic arc, including a lot of other wonderful series characters in a way that feels completely natural and satisfying. It also sets up some really intriguing new opportunities for the next books in this series through the large-scale world-building changes that occur by the end of this story.

Also? Speaking as a parent, the description of a particular, wonderful and beloved child as "a disastrous miracle" resonated SO MUCH for me that I laughed out loud and highlighted it as I read. ;)

This whole series is full of great magical action and adventure as well as strong (and steamy, adult) romance (with heroines who include wicked sorceresses, dark fae queens, and more), and I'm very excited that Thea Harrison has recently announced the publication of three new books in this world. I will be preordering every one of them!

So much going on for a 130-pg novella. Somewhat bittersweet, but loved re-visiting w/ most of ‘the gang’ one last time prior to the Elder Races series transitioning to new series arc/spin-off. Very good job of tying up numerous loose threads/mentions from previous books.

Full disclosure: I'm a whole lot of in love with this series and I'm a teeny bit sad this is the final installment featuring Dragos and Pia, but HOLY WOW Dragos doesn't do things by half measures. Seriously, man, the guy goes into things full throttle and he doesn't stop until he's either gotten what he has his eye on or all his enemies are smoking piles.

GLORIOUS!

I honestly adore the dynamic between Pia and Dragos. She's always been able to temper his explosive personality (at least somewhat) and he's made a concentrated effort to change the way he does things when the way he does things upsets her. As old and canny and smart as he is, he does make mistakes, as does she. Watching them navigate the ups and downs of their marriage has been fun. Let's face it, when Dragos crosses lines, he crosses them spectacularly.

That's what happens, at times, when you're a surly dragon with a whole lot of power.

I enjoyed this installment A LOT. I LOVED that decisions were made and things are moving forward for both the Cuelebre family and for the Wyr. While I'm sorry to say goodbye to Dragos and Pia's explosive romance, I genuinely loved how things ended.

I was not sure what to expect from this story except I had read it would be the last Dragos/Pia story which seemed a bit sad since they are one of my favorite couples in this genre.

When I finished I had to wrestle with giving this 4 or 5 stars and decided on 5 because it was done almost perfectly, threw in some stuff I never saw and in what I considered a huge leap in creativity figured out a way to make this work without killing off the series.

Since Pia spends most of the story kidnapped we get a glimpse of Dragos unleashed and it could be dangerous for all of humanity. We get a bit more appreciation of Carling who I have to admit was one of my least favorite charters in all these stories.

Bottom Line: Love that the series is not ending, can see a lot of great options ahead, author did great on winding this part of the series up and so 5 Star reading and a bit sad at the same time.

I love Pia and Dragos and I love the Elder Races world. It was great to spend some time with the first couple of the series. Nothing is ever simple with them though! But it all ended well, as expected - it is romance after all. 😉 I'm very curious where the series goes from here because there is a world of possibilities now!

I listened to the audio and Sophie Eastlake's narration was wonderful!

A wonderful end to the stories involving Dragos and Pia. Not recommended for those who haven't read at least one book in the series.

Dragos and Pia, along with most of the Sentinels, have descended in Vegas to celebrate Rune and Carling's wedding. Pia is heavily pregnant with their second child and this time the pregnancy is difficult, she's grouchy and Dragos keeps putting his foot in it.

When Pia sees an advertisement for a magician who looks remarkably like Dragos she is intrigued and Dragos' dismissive response only encourages her curiosity. But her investigation leads to a surprise meeting and a kidnapping that could threaten the lives of thousands of people.

My only complaint about this book was that it was a novella rather than a novel, because I think there was enough plot and action for it to have been two or three times as long. As befits the finale to a storyline (for want of a better description), we see lots of our favourite characters from previous books and a whole new beginning for Pia and Dragos (and of course Liam and Stinkpot).

Loved it.

This is a short one, but so much got packed into it. I like the new friendship that sprouted between Pia and Carling, laughed at the fighting that Pia and Dragos did at the start, there really was no winning for him. I'm very intrigued by the choice that Pia and Dragos made at the end. I really hope we get to see what they build and what Liam decides to do, even though we all think we know already. But I especially want more of Stinkpot and to see him grow up!

Since I just finish Moonshadow and Spellbinder back to back, I plan to read Lionheart afterward. But, when I read chapter 2, seems like I missing an information. A big information to be exact, since it's about Dragos condition. So I check Goodreads, and voila, seems like I'm not read Planet Dragos yet. Grumbling, I pick this up and since the length is just a novella, I can read it fast and can continue my Lionheart reading again (I just read on weekend sadly, since in weekdays I usually too tired to reading until past my bedtime ;( )

Planet Dragos is supposedly to be Dragos and Pia last adventure...and well it's true. Pia is pregnant, she being kidnapped (Again! Reading this kidnapping plot after read Spellbinder can be overmuch to me somehow), but now the stake is too high since Pia is already to go over labor anytime. Thing getting worse because the enemy also kidnap Carling and blood drain her, left her in weak state. This problem not just make Dragos frantic, but Rune as well, because it's supposed to be him and Carling wedding, but the bride just become a runaway bride but not in a good way.

Of course the problem will always be solved. But here's the catch. Planet Dragos is, indeed, a last journey of Dragos and Pia, with the addition of their new son, Stinkpot in NY! Harrison make a big change and well, I see that sometimes, all good things must come to end and Dragos is ready to pass his torch to the new generation. Dragos and Pia might be not my favorite couples, but I still enjoy their story nonetheless. I like that after his important role in Spellbinder, Azrael aka God of Death also make appearance here. His connection to Dragos also explained even not all were revealed. Make me wonder if Dragos himself is one of the Primary Power, but well, he's of course still secretive about that.

Thanks for Planet Dragos, Harrison. It's sure one hell of ride of journey for the dragon and his mate!
