The Washington Post called Dr. Daniel Amen the most popular psychiatrist in America and Sharecare.com named him the web's most influential expert and advocate on mental health. Daniel Amen is a life-long Christian and graduate of Oral Roberts University School of Medicine. He is a double board-certified psychiatrist and multiple NY Times bestselling author, with such blockbuster books as Change Your Brain, Change Your Life, Healing ADD, Change Your Brain, Change Your Body, and The Daniel Plan, co-authored by Pastor Rick Warren and Dr. Mark Hyman. In November 2016, he and his wife Tana published The Brain Warrior's Way. Dr. Amen is the founder of Amen Clinics, which has 6 locations across the United States. Amen Clinics has the world's largest database of brain scans related to behavior, totaling more than 125,000 SPECT scans on patients from 111 countries. Dr. Amen's research team has published more than 70 scientific articles on a wide variety of topics related to brain health. He is the lead researcher on the largest brain imaging study on active and retired NFL players and was a consultant on the movie Concussion starring Will Smith. In 2016, Discover Magazine named his brain imaging work for psychiatric diagnoses as one of the top 100 stories in all of science. Dr. Amen has also hosted 11 national public television shows about the brain, which have aired more than 80,000 times across North America and raised more than 75 million dollars for stations.
I am drawn to books like these. I'm not sure why, but maybe I find the science of health fascinating. The subject of finding good health doesn't seem to be about just food anymore. I've read several books like this one in the last two years. Some I have really liked, others not so much. This one seemed like a good mix of information and making the focus about brain health sets this one apart from the others.
When considering all the similar books on my "read" shelf, I've found lots of conflicting info like 'don't eat potatoes ever' vs. 'eat potatoes, 'exercise' vs. 'don't exercise', 'eat smoothies' vs. 'don't eat smoothies', 'no gluten' vs. 'all grains sparingly', etc. This one is no different....not everyone agrees all the time. What I liked though, was that there was no negative finger pointing at others and their studies. They didn't have to make others look bad in order to look good themselves. They let their ideas and research do the talking, well, so-to-speak.
The explaining was a little long in the beginning. I was wondering when they were going to get to the actual plan. While the suggestions are similar to others I've read, I liked the way they put it all together and tied how brain health effects all other aspects of mental and physical health. This book is for those who may be at the end of their rope and willing to commit to the 'no sugar, no gluten, and exercise often' plan.
Another of my walk-the-dog audiobooks. A very informative book. Rather long but gives valuable insight into brain health that is backed by medical research and brain scan studies. It looks at ways you and I can improve the health of our brains and avoid the cognitive breakdown common in so many people as they age. It gets a little repetitive as you get deeper into it- but well worth the time I invested in listening to it.
This book makes me angry because I love me some bread, guys. 😂 But I have been on this diet for nearly 14 days now and it WORKS! I was told I had early onset rheumatoid arthritis as a 19 year old, and now my inflammation is nearly completely gone. I also have the energy to do things throughout the day, and my anxiety is slowly getting under control. I’m a happier person because of this diet (even though I do miss bread 😭) and I look forward to continuing it.
I have jogged and worked out since 13, so I thought I could eat anything I want. This book proved me wrong. I am making changes in my life thanks to this. No more sugar for me, 9 hours, or 8, of sleep, and little by little, getting my loved one into a healthier life.
This is a lifestyle book which focuses on how our lifestyle choices affect our brain. The warrior aspect of the book deals with the mentality needed to make the changes which alter our brain health. I find some books like this annoying. This one kept my attention. I need motivation more than knowledge and the warrior aspect kept me engaged.
Great advice on how to stay focused and Strong Minded! Clean eating, less stressing and more exercising. Interested in learning more about brain scans.
Excellent handbook for those who want to actively take charge of their health. Dr. Amen looks at nutrition, lifestyle, and discusses various positive approaches one can adopt which encourage good health and longevity. He provides outlines, charts, and comprehensive easy to follow guidelines to help reach one's goal.
In terms of listening to this book, I felt that a lot was repeated and it could have been done in a shorter format. Having said that, the principle it conveys around taking responsibility for your brain health, that I can totally get on board with. My mom is currently in care for altzheimer dementia and this has caused myself and my siblings to review our lives and the choices we make. Since starting to read this book I made a few changes already, which creates an awareness around what happening for me and what symptoms I may have overlooked in the past. I have a feeling I am going to become quite the advocate for this lifestyle change, as i make the changes and experience positives shifts in my life. I do feel the need for a physical book, to use this as a reference together with suggested recipes, so I can revisit the content. I find that hard with an audible book. The reason this book only got a 3, is due to the repeated content as well as a reading of a 100 food options that are good for you. In audible form, that is not pleasant to listen to.
One of the best Amen books so far, full of practical tips. I was particularly interested in his advice about matching brain symptoms to supplements. The before and after photos of brains are pretty convincing evidence that lifestyle changes can have a dramatic impact on our health. It's a good reminder that what helps the brain helps every part of us, a point of view that is helpful. I'd recommend it to anyone who isn't feeling quite as vibrant as they might like to feel...and because of the mineral-depleted soil that our food is grown in....my guess is that's a lot of us!
I like that they point out that any dietary path you choose, whether it be vegan, Paleo, vegetarian or smorgasboard, there are healthy and unhealthy options. You can pursue healthy choices whether you choose to include meat or not, it's all about getting the body what the body needs to function and flourish. Hoping to acquire a copy for reference soon to pursue a healthier path than I'm presently on.
My grandpa recommended this book to me. I’m not a self-help book reader, and I didn’t read it because I feel like I am living an unhealthy lifestyle, so this is a review of someone who may be outside of the intended audience. Here’s what I thought:
What I liked: the medical focus. This book gives the impression that their theories are science-based instead of opinion based. Does the rest of the scientific community agree with them? I’m not sure. But they use terminology that would allow those who really care to look it up themselves or ask a medical practitioner. I also liked how the entire focus of the book isn’t diet. It’s the biggest part, for sure, but they offered guidance for other ways to keep your brain healthy—not reading the news first thing in the morning, continuously learning something new, taking time to meditate and reflect on gratitude. All good stuff. Lastly, I like the focus on changing the way we approach and think about healthy lifestyles vs dieting. Very helpful to those who need it.
What I didn’t like: The first third of the book was basically convincing you why you should do what they tell you. It seems like a disproportionate amount of salesmanship for a book someone is already reading. I also didn’t really like the mentality that encourages you to call out other people for their health choices. There’s a story in the book where a man reps another man that his BMI is too high and that he is obese. The obese man then says, “That is cold” to which the first man replies, “It will be a lot colder when you’re six feet under!” Perhaps that story was supposed to be humorous, but the book constantly nudges you to share what you’ve learned in this book with those around you. Sure, healthy living is a good thing to encourage, but do we really need to be going around telling people they are obese as if they don’t already know? My grandpa recommended this to me because he has concerns about my diet, fearing that I eat the way my crippling ill mother does. To be fair—he is judging my eating habits solely on the last time I visited him when I was suffering from severe morning sickness while pregnant and only able to keep down crackers and bubbly drinks. I’d be concerned too if that’s how I always ate! But after reading this book, I feel like he was almost prodded by the writers to make the sales pitch to me, which I don’t appreciate.
Anyway, should you read this book? I say yes if you are looking for a way to get healthier and stay healthy. I say no if your just the casual reader like me who is already health conscious and is making good dietary/exercise/brain health choices.
A complete and comprehensive plan is laid out here by the Amen's to take control of your life and get it back on track to health, longevity, and well-being. Most of us without guidance or focus are victimized by the mindless profit driven companies particularly in food production that lead us to unnecessary afflictions of all kinds that can shorten our lives. Coupled with other life style choices we fall into, it is not encouraging for health or brain.
This is not an easy program and it takes commitment as in anything worthwhile but the tools are here in the book, it is up to the individual to pick them up and put them to use. We get a lot of the profiles of those whose lives were changed as with most self help books. The dietary section is fairly extensive. And finally the other ingredients of purpose, social bonds, and mind-set round out the complete program that will achieve the results.
This fell short of what I expected it to be. We all already know to cut back on fats, sugars, junk etc., that was not news. Though Dr. Amen might know brains, it doesn't seem as if he understands the cost of food for most people. Going organic is something many people can only do as a single item, budget dependent option. given all the no-go food he lists, I am unsure exactly what would be on the menu. The side story of the history of great warrior types could have been condensed, and the anecdotal bits too. All in all I am glad I borrow vs bought this book.
It is based on a certain SPECT image of the brain, which shows which parts of your brain are inactive or damaged. And then, it tells you what to do in order to have a healthy brain. Truth be told, it is nothing that you already don't know. However, it is one comprehensive lists of good habits that you can do every day, like combating stress, listening to new music once in a while, etc. These things are backed by research, as opposed to some brain storming blog posts. It is worth a leisurely read for sure.
The Brain Warrior’s Way, by Daniel G. Amen and Tana Amen, illustrates how to improve the health of your brain by creating new habits. The book is filled with advice and success stories from clients who followed The. Brain Warrior’s Way plan. It is not filled with technical and medical terms. On the contrary, it is easy and enjoyable to read.
I have been following Dr. Daniel Amen for a few years now. While I was researching Integrative Nutrition, I came across Daniel Amen. In January 2020, he started broadcasting a six-week class called “The End of Mental Illness: Brain Health Revolution,” in which he was also promoting his new book with the same name. After I watched the broadcasts, I immediately wanted to read his previous book, The Brain Warrior’s Way. I got the book right away and started reading it. His wife, Tana Amen, wrote the companion book, “The Brain Warrior’s Way Cookbook.” His new book became available in stores in March 2020.
The Brain Warrior’s Way Synopsis
Daniel Amen often tells his patients to ask themselves before making a decision, “Is this good for my brain or bad for it?” For example, at some restaurants, we can have as much free bread before a meal as we want. If we ask this question to ourselves, the answer should be “no.” Do not have the waitress bring the bread to your table because eating this food is not good for your brain. Make better decisions by continuously asking this question. Soon it will become a habit, and it will be easy to say no to bad foods and yes to healthy alternatives.
The program in this The Brain Warrior’s Way is the exact advice Daniel Amen and his associates give their clients at Amen Clinics. It improves the health of the brain and body by helping you to create healthy habits. The more healthy decisions you make a habit, the more spontaneous it becomes. You won’t have to think about it because it will become automatic.
“To be a Brain Warrior, you must love your brain, understand what to avoid because it hurts your brain, and know what to do to keep your brain healthy.” (page 64)
Brains can become damaged from age, head injuries, toxins, and many other ways. The great news is that it does not need to stay that way. There are ways to improve your brain through food, environment, and physical activity. Many people don’t realize that their brain has been damaged.
“Now, twenty-five years later, my brain looks younger and healthier, which is not usually what happens as we get older. Typically, brains become less and less active over time, but now we know it doesn’t have to be that way. We’ve discovered that with the right strategies brain aging is optional.” (page 14)
Amen Clinics
Patients at Amen Clinics get brain scans to show what is wrong with their brain, and so the doctors can diagnose and know how to treat the patient. Amen utilizes the SPECT imaging for the brain in his clinics. He says that every other medical professional scan the body to see what is wrong, except for psychiatry. Once he learned about SPECT imaging, he started using this scan to see the health of the brain of his patients.
SPECT imaging shows three things about brain function. I could have too little activity, too much activity, or good activity. Of course, you want to get your brain function to good activity.
Depending on which brain type you are, there different treatment plans. Since most people cannot go to Amen Clinics to get their brains scanned, Daniel Amen developed a brain assessment to do online to figure out your brain type. The questions only take about five minutes to complete.
The Brain Warrior’s Way has advice throughout the whole book to get your body and brain healthy. At the end of the book, there is a 14-day program that includes what foods to eat and a journal to keep track of what you eat and your activities every day. There is also a checklist of reminders and things to do.
My Analysis of The Brain Warrior’s Way
I received a lot of valuable information from The Brain’s Warrior’s Way. I refer back to this book often to make sure I am doing it right. It is hard to remember everything by just reading the book once or twice.
It is much better than a diet book. If you eat correctly and follow the plan, it is just natural to lose weight. But the book is not focused on losing weight; it is to have a healthy brain so you can have a better quality of life. I like how there is active advice throughout the whole book.
Personally, food affects my brain tremendously. Eating sugar and some other foods give me a headache. Unless I eat perfectly, my head hurts. Recently I figured out that eating walnuts give me headaches. I would love to get my brain scanned at Amen Clinics to see what brain type I am and to get a personalized treatment plan. In the meantime, I will follow the plan in the book and take the brain assessment online.
The 14-day meal plan give the names of recipes, but you need to go to its companion, The Brain Warrior’s Way Cookbook, to get the recipes. I would have liked the recipes in the book, but it just gives more room to go into more detail in what you can do to improve the health of your brain. I have both books. These foods are suggestions. You can choose any food you want within the specific guidelines.
This book is for anyone who wants to get more healthy, especially if you have mental or physical ailments.
I have great respect for Dr Amen and his work. Only knocking a star off because it seemed half the book was anecdotes trying to convince me to read the book... Hello, I'm already holding it. Skip to the good stuff. Also I do take issue with his gluten free stance. I know it's popular, and modern wheat processing messes people up. But I encourage people to try fermented sourdough and traditional grains (that don't use instant yeast), it's much easier on the body.
80% of the material makes good sense and can be found in many other resources. The rest was comprised of blanket statements, religious speech, Stevia adoration, and self-promotion of their products.
Good read! Will change the way you look at food. My takeaways: I You are in a war for your health no matter where you go.
Pro-inflammatory Foods are a major culprit and killing you slowly.
The real weapons of mass destruction in our society are foods that are highly processed pesticide spray artificially colored and sweetened high-glycemic low fiber food like substances Laden with hormones tainted with antibiotics.
Technology has hijacked developing brains.
VIDEO time causes abnormal firing in the left temporal lobe (associated with violence.)
Gene's play less of a role then poor choices.
Alzheimer's disease is expected to Triple by the year 2050.
It's already affects 50% of people 85 and older.
25% of the workforce is over the age of 55 now.
Depression is one of the greatest killers of our time and effects over 50 million Americans alone.
Depression has increased 400% just in the last 30 years. This leads to Suicide, divorce, lost jobs, addiction, heart disease, and dementia. Depression doubles in women and quadruples in men the odds of having dementia.
The CDC states 20% of high school males a diagnosed with ADD. This is a 40% increase just over the last 10 years.
The cause of this is the foods we eat, the screen time we have, decreased exercise, and decreased sleep time.
It takes 30 days for your taste buds to regenerate and reset themselves so 30 days of difficulty is what it takes for it to become easier. Then after this phase it just comes down to mechanics and roitine.
Meditation, deep relaxation, and questioning negative thoughts helps grow your mind.
DISC 2:
PRINCIPLE 1: MUST KNOW YOUR PURPOSE OF GETTING HEALTHY! WHAT IS YOUR WHY?
You must have an incredibly descriptive and detailed why.
EX: I want to be the leader of my family. I must have a healthy brain to continue to live out my life's work of helping others as well as my family. I must always be my best for those who need me.
Write out 7 to 10 reasons why this is a must such as to have more energy so I can play and keep up with my kids.
Write out 7 to 10 pain points that you will be avoiding such as I will ensure I will never get cancer.
When you give in to temper tantrums are you helping or harming them? Then we should do the same with ourselves.
The Bliss point was nicknamed this as it is the nucleus incumbis where the pleasure Center is and the perfect mixture of sugar, fat and salt creates a heightened experience that becomes addicting.
DISC 3:
The secret to longevity is living conscientiously. Having a healthy and positive mindset but being realistic at the same time.
Eliminate added sugars and refined carbohydrates.
DISC 4:
Add is caused by low energy in the prefrontal cortex. This is why impulse control is difficult. To stimulate the prefrontal cortex takes mindfulness and meditation.
The top form of treatment is to eliminate the automatic negative thoughts.
DISC 5:
When you eat food that causes inflammation, it tells your body to repair itself and so you are in a chronic state of reparation nonstop.
It's important to fast a minimum of 12 hours overnight.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS:
Sugar/Substitutes
Gluton
Soy
Corn
Dairy
DISC 6:
The best results come from dairy, gluten, sugar-free diets.
Eliminate CORN, DAIRY, AND SOY!
For kids started at age 8 to give 1g of Omega-3 oil daily Chao increase in healthy behavior and decrease in a ADD and unhealthy behaviors.
Adults should take between 1 to 2 grams of Omega-3 oils daily.
Ask yourself is my behavior getting me what I want?
Be intentional with your thoughts. This means instructing your mind what to think otherwise your habitual patterns will take over.
I will never allow the government or anyone to have that much control over my life or my destiny. I know my hard work will pay off. This is temporary. Taking the easy way out will lead to long-term suffering and we will be stuck in this hellhole forever. If I act like a victim and give up now I will never win because victims can't win someone else controls them.
You don't have to believe every stupid thought you have in many different scientific studies learning how to kill the ants by challenging your negative thoughts has been found to be as effective as prescription medication for anxiety and depression with no side effects.
Guided imagery helps build focus of perfect execution everytime!
3 F's:
Fix it. No matter what happens you can always fix it.
Forget about it. Let It Go so you can grow.
Focus. Move on.
Turn bad days into good data.
DISC 8:
Without a foe there is no Warrior.
Examples are the only way to learn! Follow those who are already doing it.
Epigenetics is when through Poor eating you change your genetics and pass that environment onto your kids and grandkids.
Before every decision ask yourself: Is it good for my brain? "When the training is hard, the battle is easy. Warriors don't wait fight day to start training- they train every day" "W/o a vision of a goal, a man cannot manage his life or the lives of others" - Is MY(this prevent me blaming everything outside me) behavior getting me what I want? -> whatever you blame (your boss, society, the gouv.) you became a victim who cannot change anything; you became powerless -=warrior Responsibility is the ability to response to whatever situation you are in. In the morning read your goals and 1-2 think of your gratitude list and meditate on them. Once the day started express your appreciation for one person (during 30 day do 30 diff. persons). Slef-hypnosis can increase heart rate variability, lower blood pressure, increase circulation, aid digestion, strengthen the immune system, improve cognition, diminishing anxiety, depression or irritability. Love-Kindness Meditation also increase positive emotions social connections, decrease negative ones , pain headaches, social prejudice. You will have a choose about witch toughs you allow yourself to think. Used properly, music is a medicine and can switch moods. Be curious not furious- turn bad days into good data. Being curious about the things you struggle is essential to learn from them the emotional feedback is necessary. Hunger->low blood sugar and overall blood flow->more likely to make bad decisions- don't go shopping hungry. You speak your love to your children, grandchildren, and the future generation by your actions today. Act don't talk! Epigenetic (dumb decision at 11 can impact generations to came. Boys who started smoking at 11-12 years increased the risk of obesity in their children). What about all the toxic food and information that we consume? The right social connections make you smarter and better, the wrongs one hurt you. Change your mindset (this is not deprivation- maybe go to other extreme to persuasive the middle like a luxury? any addiction is weakness Your gut has 100 trillion microorganisms (10 times more than body cells) we need to keep good balance between bad and good bugs for our mental and physical health; (avoid medications, sugar intake, pesticide, alcohol, stress, radiation, high-intensity exercise such a marathon); greates danger from antibiotics doesn't come form your prescribed medications, 70%+ of the antibiotics are sold for use in animal agriculture WTF is cheating day? Do alcoholics drug addicts or smokers have cheating days when they are on therapy = change your mindset: it's not a deprivation. Restaurants give you free bread or alcohol before your meal=>blur your prefrontal cortex (your surveillance), spike blood sugar quickly, make you more relax and happy and you encourages you to eat more overall. We live in a broken word, gouv. support production of cheat foods that make us sick, fat and depressed- it's more expensive to eat healthier, but only in terms of money in short term. Use past success as a template(the fact that you broke 1 bad habit means that you can do it again) Turn your pain into purpose. One of the best thing you can do for yourself is moderate exerciser regularly. Brain scans shows that video games damaged children brains. Excessive technology over use our dopamine production. Be like GPS when you make a bad turn don't blame yourself but find the shortest way to go back on your path. Have high sens of purpose is linked to decreased mortality from all causes. Why do you have to be healthy? Why do you want a stronger mind and a more powerful brain? Is it to feel less anxious or less depressed? Is it to enjoy life as long as possible in the best possible condition? Is it to be able to stay connected with those who you love as long as possible? Who needs you to have a healthy brain? - you need a strong 'why'- write as much details as possible. Why this world is a better place bcs I breath?
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I've read a lot of nutrition books and by far this is near the top of my list to read and recommend to others. It talks about brain health so it does cover a lot of nutrition, but also talks about stress relief, gratitude, exercise, and other topics that help make your brain and body healthier in both the short term and long term. There are a lot of little stories about peoples success a long the way, and I find that is very typical of any type of diet/nutrition book that has been written to try and sell a diet or product (supplements, their website materials, etc). So it doesn't surprise me or upset me as I know this going into these types of books. I would also warn anyone who does read them to take away what they will not everything will be for everyone. Supplements are good, for some not everyone so you might not need to buy into their hype that they use to sell their supplements.
There is a little bit of Christian religion in this book, but not so much to be a huge distraction from the nutrition information. I myself don't like when these kind of things are thrown around in books, but this was so little it didn't bother me at all. It is explaining their believes and not proselytizing.
The actual information on nutrition is what you should read it for and take away. This information is fantastic and I agree with much of it. Like I said I've read many books and this bar far has the most optimistic outlook on in vs just telling you that everything is bad. It makes you feel more confident and powerful in making the changes vs ripping away your very soul and denying yourself of your favorite foods.
I have read a ton of health books and many, many diet books. I don’t have a weight problem myself but my family does which makes me very anxious about what is best for my body so I don’t fall down the hole they have.
This book is the most complete and concise and most helpful book I’ve read thus far about the what’s, how’s and why’s of eating and how our bodies can work when treated properly.
I’ve read about 70% of Dr. Amen’s books and I can tell you from experience that they say almost the identical things but in different ways. Why is this important? Because different people have different goals and while Dr. Amen’s solution is the same in all his books, his advice on how to get to optimal is not the same for everyone because everyone is different. This is what has most drawn me to his works. He acknowledges that while we can all get healthy and live better lives, how we do that will be different for each person.
I plan on recommending this book to everyone I hold dearest in my heart. They need this information so they can make informed decisions about what they are doing to their bodies.
I encourage everyone to pick up a copy of any of Dr. Amen’s books, doesn’t matter which one, though so far The Amen Solution (a softer touch) and this book (a bolder, in your face approach), are my favorites.
Knowing the author from TED Talk title: "The most important lesson from 83,000 brain scans" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esPRs...) by Daniel G Amen. What a shocked information.
One statement I admired a lot: "Did you know that psychiatrists are the only medical specialists that virtually never look at the organ they treat? Think about it. Cardiologists look, neurologists look, orthopedic doctors look, virtually every other medical specialties look — psychiatrists guess" I'm a psychologist but I have to agree with this! Then Mr. Amen told about the SPECTS Scan from 83.000 brains (It's huge!!) and get so many insights from his TED talk. He also suggest how to get the healthy brain. How to prevent us from alzheimer's disease.
From this book I get many practical information, how to be the brain warrior's way!! having a healthy brain from now on by choosing your quality food, activity and have a quality sleep.
You may check your brain type through written assessment through link in the book (not as accurate as SPECTS Scan of course :)) ; but it's okay lha .
A dear friend gave me this book to help with a mystery illness my neurologist can't figure out. While I appreciate the advice, I've seen it elsewhere, and I find the lengthy anecdotes unhelpful to my problem.
The section on financial tips for affording a totally organic diet is condescending. People who don't have the cash to shop organic also don't have the cash for anything extra, and already know how to stretch a dollar. It looks like the authors are classist.
The playlist provided is for music I don't like, which further alienates me from their spiel.
Also, they spell Vergil wrong, and don't cite any information they present from the Humanities.
This book felt like the health version of Dave Ramsay's financial programs. It was very motivational and used a lot of ultimatums (if you care about your health, you must give up sugar...etc. etc.) There were some things that sounded really good but after consulting advice from major health universities I found some conflicting information such as the effectiveness of taking fish oil pills. Overall I believe that this book has good information and if a reader is inspired to implement even half of the advice in this book they will be better off health-wise. But perhaps before implementing any serious life-altering behaviors consult other reliable sources such as your doctor/physician.
Daniel Amen is a physician and Tana Amen is a nurse. They have been on Dr Oz and Dr Phil and are part of the Daniel Plan through Saddleback Church. I have read several books and want to address why you should read this one. Their approach differs from others in embracing evidence based care, in doing a lot of brain imaging and in emphasizing that changes in lifestyle-diet and exercise, especially in mid life are more powerful than drugs. This book uses the metaphor of a warrior-a black belt or a marine-and aims at those who feel they are doing well but want to do better. If that is you, this book deserves a place in your life.
